This is why I love this forum and I love this series, and I love these fans. Never before have I met such an immensely dedicated fan base absolutely in love with a franchise who are so dedicated to finding out facts hidden within hundreds of hours of gameplay, looking for hints or any kind of foreshadowing hidden in the tiniest details in the most immense story elements.

Some people call it nitpicking, I call it appreciation.

Even with the ME3's ending, Mass Effect has earned my loyalty.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As per D.Sharrah, this is only my second playthrough, but I do remember that conversation. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of ME3's dialogue is in fact foreshadowing the end. And a lot of the banter dating back to ME1 hints at the fact the Shepard is most likely indoctrinated, or is gradually reaching the point of no return.

Right now I'm trying to think of something that Shepard has that none of his squadmates have, because let's face it, alot of the theories we;ve been throwing around should also state that the squad should also be indoctrinated, because they have been with Shepard all the time. The only exception being Object Rho. Unless the Prothean beacon that Shepard encountered in ME1 was sabotaged by the Reapers, and thus began Shepards decent into indoctrination.

Well you also have to look at it from the Reapers point. Shepard is the Hero of this galaxy and stoped the cycle for 3 more years, and lead a on army Ship/squad all by him/herself with out much help from command. Shepard is also an intrestin spesiman to them because Shepard does anything to stop any threat that my cost lifes and lead a team of elite people to take out the Collectors. So in theroy Shepard is the most intresting organic they have ever incounter and is the only person that my pose as a threat to the Reapers.

Maybe so, but what I'm wondering is why no one else on Sheps squad is indoctrinated. It's never stated that the Reapers can choose who gets indoctrinated and who doesn't, just that whoever is in or near a Reaper or in proximity of a Reaper artifact begins indoctrination.

No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.

I'll just reup this every new page this thread hits till people get it, I suppose.

Bungie also said Halo 3 was that final chapter in Master Chiefs journey...
KISS has said for the last 10 years that THIS tour is the farewell tour...
Every Star Trek movie is the FINAL Star Trek movie...
Ric Flair/Hulk Hogan/Mick Foley/Terry Funk would NEVER wrestle again...
Duke Nukem Forever would NEVER be finished...

May I go on?

Also Michale Bay said no more Transformer movies but guess what Transformers 4 in production.

All events motivated by the aquisition of money. I have no doubt that, as demand remains strong, steps will be taken to take advantage of the financial benefits to be gleaned from catering to those who would see the egregious ending to Mass Effect 3 altered in some way (so long as it is economically feasible of course, people have been clamoring for a remake of Final Fantasy 7 forever but the production cost would be too high).

However, this would still be a decision made after the fact. Any incorporation of "Indoctrination Theory" would be a cynical manuever, the plucking of low hanging fruit offered by the consumers. Indoctrination Theory hangs on the idea that this was planned from the very beginning; it was not.

Edit: Also, as we have reached a new page.

Well I think the Reapers don't give a damm about Shepards squad mates because Shepard like I said is a well know person through out the galaxy and is the best soldier in the galaxy.Just like Saren was the best Specter at the time until Shepard came in.

What's your problem? Why do you have to come here and talk trash about It in a negitive way. Do you like that we are trying to make sence about the ending and not crying about it to Bioware like a B**** about the ending no. We are just trying to do it in a well orginzed manar, but no people like you are wallys trying to ruin everything just beacuse somthing does not go your way or somthing happend to your past that made you this way.
Look I am sorry for what ever happend to your childhood but it's not right to do this to people who are not forceing others to beleive in IT so please stop putting IT down and help us with suportting IT , or leave please.

Indeed.

Speculating is fun! If it turns out the IT is false, then it's false! There's nothing we can do about it. Why cry over spilt milk? Until that fateful day comes, we will continue to enjoy ourselves, and we will continue to speculate! Trying to impose judgement on our right to do so is idiotic, and above all, a huge waste of time.

God, I think a few people should get a real perspective on the IT and its followers!

Very true trying to figure out  a puzzle is fun but trying to figure out a game ending and what went wrong and how to explian it is even better.

Admittedly, it's hard to refute that logic. I can only observe however that, however much it is enjoyed, their time is equally being wasted in an unproductive manner - but thats what hobbies are for.

My question is how did the Illusive man recover the collector base with out reaper IFF's and why does he even revive Shepard in the first place since he is being slowly controlled by the Reapers every day. My guess is that the Reapers have bigger plains in motion that we don't even see or comprehend and they need Shepard/ the catalyst to do there dirty work for the Reapers.

But what is it that you belive? Do you belive Shepard is Indoc or do you think Bioware has somthing up there sleves and don't want to discuess right now. If bioware wanted to just add extra game footage they would have been done by now, and would have told the fans It is wrong and retake Mass Effect is not going to happen. Plus they said nothing about changing the ending that is not there yet, and like you said it was unfinished so there you go.

Just saw it and I think they are doing more game play insted of cinimatics because why would they need the Shepard cast if they aren't  doing anything much with the diauloge.

My point being that these vague statements can be interpreted in several ways, they do not put nails in ANY coffin. This thread is for people who are having fun speculating on an ending that was meant to be speculated on. No more trolling and have fun. It is just a video game.

Because The Great Shepard of the Galaxy is going to build that damn house on Rannoch, get that drink from Kasumi, and have little blue babies with Liara, while making bank of the Vids with Garrus.

They just said that there wasn't going to be game play because that would give away the twist. Ofcourse there's going to be more gameplay.

Huh. Has she confirmed that it was ME-related in a reply somewhere? Thought it was a general "I'm working. Muahahaha!" message, though EC makes the most sense given the stock NDA language.

Technically, her contract probably says she can't tell us about anything she does in studio. Not sure that sheds any more light on anything, we all know a few single player DLC missions are coming. Can I get a thumbs up for Romance DLC?!?

Also, that tweet was retweeted by a person who works at Bioware, so I guess we can be fairly certain what Ms. Naomi Hunter was talking about!
