Besides, I do not think Bioware would have in mind this. I mean, even we force people to do things against their thoughts in DA... It's just like a really charismatic leader, which can be useful to do both good or bad actions.

Charisma =/= Indoctrination. That's even more true in this game than in real life, of course.

The Reaper Origins he wrote is fan fiction, isn't it? It's not what canonically happened.

Hey, I just thought of yet another problem with synthesis as is. The reapers haven't been changed in any way, just leaving because they don't want to reap anymore. The fleet is still attacking them, having no reason to stop except a pause to look at their pretty green eyes. The reapers will defend themselves. War may well continue even if the original reason for it has gone.

No. Because through mutual understanding and exchange of good will Reapers and Organics make love, not war, from now on.

Machines and Organics already do :P

I know what I'm saying, but it requires that people look at indoctrination in the normal sense, Shepard does it better than anyone else, I have to end this discussion because people are just attributing indoctrination as just a bad thing the reapers do.

Indoctrination is a bad thing if used improperly or has bad goals. Military indoctrination is both good and bad. It prepares soldiers for the battlefield but it could leave them feeling like that's all they know for the rest of their lives.

Religious Indoctrination is worse for obvious reasons. There are very little examples of where indoctrination is a force for good.

Convincing people of making rational and moral decisions using logic and commen sense isn't indoctrination.

Except Shepard has a choice of both paragon or renegade persuasion, anyway, as I said, I cannot continue this discussion, it gets complex trying to explain it, and my head hurts.

I can continue but i'll respect your wish.

I know what you're trying to say though, Shep indoctrinates people with hope and courage, I see him more like "anti-indoctrination". whether it's just his personality, or something more (like the prothean cipher) I don't know.

In other news, I think one of the objects in the breathe scene can be matched to the crucible. I may go further and provide pics depending on how much time I have today.

That's based on his actions of being heroic in the face of certain doom, not because of him making people believe what he believes and nothing else by sweet talking to them.

Shepard isn't going to turn around and say to everyone, "Ok I know I've spent the last three years fighting reapers and they've pretty much taken out half the galaxy, but they're not all bad and we should sit with them and have tea." And everyone's going to follow him without question.

That wasn't the point...and besides it says right in his post that is a THEORY...the point, was that there was a troll threatening to repost a series of questions meant to "debunk" IT on every new page...I was just suggesting that Arian do the same as an inside joke...which is now ruined, since I had to explain myself, Thanks.

Was playing through Sanctuary this morning a noticed a couple of things...

Sanctuary - the comments you get from some of the logs/datapads (prior to learning what is really going on) seem to suggest that Sanctuary has some of the same characteristics of the Citadel (at least early, as in before the coup attempt) - peaceful, tranquil, safe. Is it possible that this parallel was pointed out on purpose to show that the Citadel may not be what it seems? Plenty of people have theorized that the Citadel is a giant indoctrination device, could this be where TIM got the idea for Sanctuary from?

Loading Screens - Has anyone else noticed that lights on the Citadel loading screens change...I have not noticed any specific pattern, but I have seen yellow, orange and purple. Not sure this means anything, but wanted to make sure that I wasn't going crazy...

I thought he was responding to a question by spotlessvoid about why the Reapers harvest only select species and to my answer to it that the Reapers harvest every species they can. Sorry to have spoilt the joke.

But thats pretty much exactly what happens in Control and Synthesis if you take them literally...

He may have been...my response was directed more at the response itself and the threat that was made earlier...that's ok, not sure anyone even saw it or noticed that it was a joke.  Sometimes I think that I am alot funnier then I am...

Not exactly. In both endings, the reapers stop attacking and they leave. Organics don't have to like the reapers or want them alive and they can persue them if they feel they can take them on. But they'd be stupid to.
