Definitely stuff worth looking into in there.

TSA,
don't suppose you could check for that line I found that the Catalyst
never actually seems to say? Would love to know it's original context.

Sure can, what was it again?

Afraid
I can't look up plotids in the files I'm looking at right now... and
those ones don't seem to set up any dialogue throughout the game based
on the other stuff I've got.
It's curious... If the indoc starts with the mako crash, that's the end of the End001 scene, so it might make sense to set plotids there.

Posted this yesterday with no response...but I am really curious if anyone else has noticed it.

"While playing SP today I seemed to notice something about the James "Hum" banter...is it just me, or does it seem to occur at the end of dialgogue strings that happen after missions that have heavy indoctrination implications (for example, it comes up after Sanctuary)."

Thoughts, dismissals, comments...

Not sure but what I remember from my last playthrough it does seem to appear after missions with direct Reaper involvement.

I think that we are on the same page...it does seem to have that obvious Reaper connection, but not so plainly that every mission where there is a reaper you can here that ending banter...for example I don't think I have ever heard it after Tuchanka or Rannoch (both whch have Reaper involvement, but not necessarily direct indoctrination implication).

This is just one of those things that is so easy to gloss over...but when you really think about the game from the IT perspective - it jumps out at you.

I've got a save where he's saying it right after Rannoch.
And imo it's not easy to gloss over, the first time he went "You hear that hum?" all alerts went hot for me.

"... solution, in a path you have already started down"

I suspect it would come up if you were forced into the default collector base choice.

Doesn't explain the the bodies all being flat textures of Ash and Kaiden. Though I suppose from a distance they're real and Shep remembers and incorporates the piles in the dream but never saw  them up close so doesn't know what they look like.

Oh, I've gone cross eyed.

Personally I just think the low quality of the piles of bodies is a necessary evil. They aren't in main focus and actually building piles of real bodies is fiddly AND consumes memory that can be better spent.

The weird people on the citadel however...I mean, if they are being turned into a reaper why haven't they been melted down? And surely the Collector thing implies they need us "fresh" for making a Reaper, otherwise why not just kill everyone outright? And of course the blank, doll like features.

Remember Harbies quotes
"The dead are useless."
"Leave the dead where they fall."

That depends on how the quality of the EC without the IT would be.

I won't be pissed. I may be disappointed, but I won't be pissed. However, I wouldn't wallow in self-pity. I mean, no use in crying over spilt milk, is there?

The only people I think will be butthurt over it would have to be the IT zealots, whom I personally disagree with. I'll probably just salute the corpes of ME3 and move on to more promising games.

So the writers knew that the player's view on the previously bad guys had to be altered WAY before the actual choice had to be made, not a few minutes before that. It's a slow process to make the bad parties intentions more attractive.

That did not really happen with the idea of Controlling the Reapers. Yes, TIM always said how he thought it was important, but besides the mumbling at the end, no real arguments were given. No effort towards relativating both parties' standpoints.
Maybe I am too Paragon, but I didn't exactly feel like someone was challanging my world view in a natural way, but more in an aggressive way, forcing me into rethinking. And if I thought to much, I got a critical mission failure.

Ah, but you're forgetting this:

Dante, that's ridiculous. The marauder shields/beam scene is tiny. There is no chance that they ran out of texture memory or that they would run into performance problems if they tried to make the bodies look better.

Yeah but the piles are there before the beam hits you. Anyway, what I mean is it's a lot of effort for not much reward. I'm not saying it's pretty but it's a standard thing in a lot of games, using a skinned pile instead of an actual heap of objects.

I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Bioware would rather leave that part of the scene out entirely rather than put it in there looking like that, if it were meant to be taken at face value.

If the bodies don't mean anything it would make more sense to just not put them in at all. I thought it was a pile of rocks when I played it and didn't get worried about the lack of neat piles of bodies.

The corpse piles are so bad looking that they must have be designed that way. There are other places with better looking corpse piles... even in ME2 in the collector's ship and base. The piles near the beam are just... horrible. And just 2 models repeating indefenetely... And looking as Ashley and Kaidan... must be deliberate.

Congrats, you missed the point. That is a huge scene that requires a lot of texture loading/unloading. The marauder shields/beam scene is not.

Not sure if real or trolling, but anyway:
Think of the outer wall as the Presidium and the middle tower as the Predidium Tower and the top of that in this picture as where you choose.
