These lines intrigue me.

The second one is the standard Synthesis line.
The first one is intriguing indeed. It's a cut dialog, but when you extract it you can hear it's either another VA or they had other settings for voice morphing. It sounds more like voice morphing as is pretty close to how the current VA speaks his lines which would make the child voice a morphed voice.

And totally ambiguous as to whether it's describing destroy (unlikely), control or synthesis :S :@

BioWare disagrees with that assessment.

Congrats, you missed the point. That is a huge scene that requires a lot of texture loading/unloading. The marauder shields/beam scene is not.

The bodies are already loaded when you run at the beam, and that involves a huge amount of textures and models as well. Could be they simply didn't want to change the piles that were already there.

Anyhoo, neither of us are on the dev team so I suppose we ain't able to reach a conclusion here anyway :P

I really dont understand how you can dismiss such a blatant clue as a "necessary evil" due to resource limitations. It fits the context of IT perfectly to look at it as a symbol of Shepard's guilt and waning resolve. Your choice, though.

It just looks more like a temp asset, it's just not conclusive.

Part of my problem with it is that it suggests the indoctrination began in the transport ride, and I just don't buy that, it's narritively cheap.

Isn't it funny, everyone has that bit of evidence they consider strong but others don't? Like for me, hearing the kid scream when his shuttle is shot down.

I personally am of the opinion that Shepard was knocked out on the ride to the Conduit.  That jolt and fade to black just seems too deliberate.

Yeah, but the fact you never see Shep wake up, or even get knocked out, strikes me as working against this idea. The "wake up" part is almost always used in this kind of story, and not showing it properly would be a super cheap way to hide Indoctrination. Not saying it's not possible, of course.

It looks like for synthesis, but could also be control.
btw: if someone wants to listen to it

So, after stating several times I thought this song was perfect for IT, imagine my delight when the video comes out and it contains cyber/holographic stuff. And people burning. And a bunch of Reapery cables :P

I use to love them, but now they sound like emos really annoying to.

They've always had those kind of lyrics, I actually like this song, sounds more like old school linkin park to me....

Yeah I do like this song better but I will always be a fan of their first album

Lol, I'm the opposite, I like all of them (apart from some of Minutes to Midnight) but I thought the earlier ones had a bit of Emo in them. But yeah, lyrics for this one are stupidly appropriate for IT, and the vid just makes it more so. In a perfect world it would be deliberate :P

The colours conflicted
as the flames climbed into the clouds.
I wanted to fix this
but couldn't stop from tearing it down...

We're building it up
To burn it down

Sound familiar?

First line - The cycle repeated...

Yeah, I'll stop :P

Lol you guys are just making us look more crazy then we are lol

Well, we've concluded that the Linkin Park song BURN IT DOWN has a distubingly large number of parallels to the ME3 ending, and I've just suggested that we really are all crazy, but in a Batman sort of way.

Posted this yesterday with no response...but I am really curious if anyone else has noticed it.

"While playing SP today I seemed to notice something about the James "Hum" banter...is it just me, or does it seem to occur at the end of dialgogue strings that happen after missions that have heavy indoctrination implications (for example, it comes up after Sanctuary)."

Thoughts, dismissals, comments...

Not sure but what I remember from my last playthrough it does seem to appear after missions with direct Reaper involvement.

I think that we are on the same page...it does seem to have that obvious Reaper connection, but not so plainly that every mission where there is a reaper you can here that ending banter...for example I don't think I have ever heard it after Tuchanka or Rannoch (both whch have Reaper involvement, but not necessarily direct indoctrination implication).

This is just one of those things that is so easy to gloss over...but when you really think about the game from the IT perspective - it jumps out at you.

I've got a save where he's saying it right after Rannoch.
And imo it's not easy to gloss over, the first time he went "You hear that hum?" all alerts went hot for me.

Huh...I wonder if it has to with order you do missions or something....cause I am pretty sure that I have never heard it after Rannoch - but that's ok it still fits, just in a different way than I was originally thinking.

What I meant w/gloss over, was when it happened in game, not what was said...if that makes sense.

How pissed are you guys going to be if IT turns out not to be true?

Dissapointed, but not pissed. I still thought ME3 was brilliant.

I am not sure that I will even be disappointed...given that what they do come up with is brilliant (as it would fit better w/the rest of the game).

Actually I've never played any of the MGS series (Except for the demo for MGS4.), so I wouldn't know.  I'm just in a Batman sort of mood since I just took down the Riddler in Batman Arkham City this morning and that means that, apart from the 35 - 40 riddles left to solve, I've officially finished all the side quests in the game (Except for said riddle hunt) and the main quest.

Edit: BTW, I think that it is definitely my favorite game from 2011.  Full disclosure, I never played Skyrim, but considering my time with Fallout 3, I don't think I would have been quite as impressed with it as some people.  Fallout 3 isn't bad, it just seems to lack focus, and the shooting is a little imprecise, IMHO.

Double Edit: Before anyone comments, I do consider it resonable to extrapolate about Skyrim based on Fallout 3.  Same dev, same basic concept of massive open world.

Triple Edit: I should also note that the platform I'm playing it on is the Xbox 360, so that may have something to do with my experience.  I figure I'll pick up the GOTY Edition on the PC at some point.

Nothing at all...that's not what I meant.  I meant that I can't listen to Linkin Park without thinking that its somehow attached to Transformers...they did such an awesome job with those songs...that when I hear one of their songs I go, "Transformers"...like the dog in Up, that goes "Squirrel".

I would strongly recommend to play MGS. It's a great game series! I got the HD collection for only 20 euros, and it was totally worth it! If you like stealth games with some clever humor, this would be the game for you!

On another note, I'm getting Batman: Arkham City tomorrow, but I still have to finish the MGS series, so I probably won't be playing that one anytime soon!

Elegant solution line is for Synthesis...
It was in a rough draft for the script before they rewrote him as more confounding...

"It is a very elegant solution."

The Master Control Reaper seems to like it.

"And a path you have already started down."
If so, why do we need the Reapers?

"And a path you have already started down."
Oh wait, I get it. I have to turn for the other two options. And I've been walking towards it while talking to you. So it's literally a path I've started down, and you are ****ing with me.
