That's the point, indoctrination is a major part of IT lore, there is no denying that. So of course the end with all its trippines is supposed to make you question what the hecks going on, and when most IT fans heard "indoctrination" they went OOOOHHHHH.

I've admitted before, and I'll admit it again, that when I first came onto BSN after I finished the game, I dismissed IT as wishful thinking. A great concept, but assuredly not the case. Then, when I could not seem to find anything else that explained what happened, or provided a decent context, I gave IT a chance.

And I've never looked back since.

I hated the whole going through the scanner first thing. What was the point of that? What does it scan for? Why not tell those two useless guards to go do something else on YOUR ship?

I figure you'll enjoy this, if you havent seen it before.

For a story to be good and for something like this to be clever and thought provoking, it should be done well enough that every player can come to that conclusion on their own.

Here's what I mean. At the end of inception, ***Spoiler Alert*** the spinning toy doesn't stop spinning before the movie ends.

Every person watching that film asked the same basic question, "was he still dreaming?"

At the end of Mass Effect 3, there is no question about indoctrination or anything else since bioware formally tells you that the reapers were dealt with.

I dont care how many times you and other people who dont believe in IT bring it up. A fourth-wall breaking message is never going to convince me of anything.

But I shall counter with this message.

Clearly since that message claims the Crucible was destroyed, and yet Shep is still standing around, she must have been on the Citadel right?

;)

Guys, something really weird just happened...

I just started the ending sequence, and suddenly the "Trolololo" song played! Scared the hell outta me!
At first I thought that something was wrong, and then I started thinking that Bioware had implemented the song in their patch to troll us, but then I saw that I for some reason had started the song on memebase.

Holy hell, that freaked me out!

And also sad, considering he just died this morning.

Yup.:crying:

Although, I'm still kinda freaked out. I mean, the timing of the event was simply perfect! Just when Shepard grabbed the control handles, the song started!

It is, unless Byne edited it out since last i checked. It is pretty major part of the theory.

I actually wrote he first, then decided to change it, because in my mind, Shepard is female, and referring to her as a man seems odd, even when linking to a video of maleshep.

Yep, that pretty much sums up most of the dialog between ITers and Anti-ITers on BSN.

I'd like to consider that a strong piece of evidence, however I now believe that its due to irreversible asset loading that occurs once you pass a certain point on each path.

Still, it is interesting that they chose to do a "Crucible was destroyed" game over instead of having him fall over dead like he does outside the beam if you try to walk in the wrong direction.

I mean not only do we ahve oily shadowy figures in the dreams, but also weird oily shadow tentacles along the screen edge in the TIM scene.

Well, clearly it is now your job to make a video dubbing Trololo over the ending and upload it to youtube.

You can title it Controlololo!

I'd do it, but I made the Space Magic video, so my work mocking the endings is done.

To quote Hackett's description of the Crucible:

Yeah, 'my' words to Liara and to Hackett - "this seems too easy... and a little stupid. We can't possibly throw everthing at this question mark!"

Of course then your off to the Citadel and checking on the VS  and then going to the Council. Of course I wanted to tell them it was horsedoo but it wasn't on the dialog wheel.

Liara: "We have that plan."

Shep: Air quotes, "I've dismissed that claim!"

Walks out.

Mine too. I already didn't like the idea that the cricible existed at all. They tried to keep the reaper off button a mystery for as long as they could. I was at least hoping that it was a massive gun you could take control of.

I like how none of the cycles ever finished the Crucible, and even when we finally do finish it, we dont actually know what it does.

If none of the cycles even knew what it did, how did they know it was a way to defeat the Reapers?

And a great video it is. I couldnt believe how well the song synced up to the video. I about fell out of my chair when there was a beat and pause when the mass relay locked up to fire it's beam, and an epic solo afterwards as the energy flies around the galaxy.

I understand...I usually play as male shep (default face and all)...and I have to fight myself when I am posting something not to be just throwing "he" all over the place...I try to stay gender neutral if I can...but fail miserably most of the time.

That all went through my head when I gave that response. I don't like the crucible as a plot device. It's been done to before. I was expecting something unique from bioware.

Obviously it's been mentioned before, but the name "The Crucible" doesn't get brought up enough. Choosing an obscure name for "test"? You can maybe say it tests what sort of person you are, but once again it fits into IT better.

Bet they were delighted when they thought up the "Crucible".

Yep; which spirals into: Starbinger says he was controlling 'TIM', so in effect... Hackett to Shep: They're controlling you!

If TIM was really part of Sheps subconscious and the little brat says 'TIM' can't control them, doesn't that mean that the indoctrinated or susceptible part of Sheps mind can't control them?

Or, playing devil's advocate here, it's a test as to whether organic life is ready to live without the Reapers, can control the Reapers, or---more importantly---merge with the synthetic life.
