Obviously it's been mentioned before, but the name "The Crucible" doesn't get brought up enough. Choosing an obscure name for "test"? You can maybe say it tests what sort of person you are, but once again it fits into IT better.

Bet they were delighted when they thought up the "Crucible".

Or, playing devil's advocate here, it's a test as to whether organic life is ready to live without the Reapers, can control the Reapers, or---more importantly---merge with the synthetic life.

Harbinger doesnt seem like the type to offer up something to that effect. It's too benevolent.

It has been said before but I will say it again. I think the Casey Hudson "if you only knew what we had planned..." tweet from when the **** started hitting the fan is pretty solid evidence that BW was up to something sneaky, IT or not.

Lol, just realised that under the premise of indoctrination most people are TIM and Epyon is Saren :P

NO! I'M IN CONTROL, NOBODY'S TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!

Listen to yourself!  You're indoctrinated!

On my first playtrough I was convinced, that Anderson tells it to Shepard...

A: He's wrong. Don't listen to him
TIM: And who will you listen to, Shepard? (TIM ASKS) An old soldier, stuck in his ways, only able to see the world down the barrel of a gun? And what if he's wrong? What if controlling the Reapers is the answer?
Shep: Then open the arms, let the Crucible dock, and use it to end this.
TIM: I... I will.
Shep: Do it!                                                                       (BLAH BLAH BLAH, BLAH BLAH, BLAH BLAH -_-)
TIM: I know it will work.
Shep: You can't can you? they won't let you do it.
TIM: No, I'm in control. No one is telling me what to do...
A: Listen to yourself. You're indoctrinated. (ANDERSON ANSWERS)

Yes, I know, I'm a crazy person :o

Perhaps, but it could also be marketing talking. Like look we have the best, most oddsome things, never done before, the best ever we've done.

Merge is also morally questionable, as it is basically Shep and Starbinger agreeing to impose their will on the entire galaxy.

Control was just something I always knew was not possible. Sanctuary reaffirmed that for me, as I read the datapads and figured out it was a reaper goo factory... Cerberus had been played.

Shep even says this to TIM minutes before the majic elevator ride. Not that it's impossible, but that it's a power grab... "We are not ready."

If you are not ready for control, what the hell makes you think you are GOD and can impose a fate on the galaxy that, at least Tali, doesn't want...

Tali: "With all our cybernetics I'll never understand merging with a system so completely."

Wasn't thinking of IT or Harbinger at that point.

It does beg the question: who the hell started calling it The Crucible during their cycle, and how did the plans for it originate?

Lol, reading that interview with the marketing producer.
"The best part of working on the BioWare team is the passion for gaming. I know that’s quite vague, but I love seeing ideas come together, the inception, the light bulb moment."

And I laughed at me reading too much into things :P

Yes, but he is referring to something they haven't revealed yet, and given the context of his comment, it is very likely he was talking about something related to the ending.

Probably you're right. At least let's hope he wasn't referring to the great MP DLCs.

Ugh, am I getting to the point where I'm forgetting obvious things? Might need to replay soon.

Who called it that? They didn't translate the name from the Prothean data files?

Nah, Hackett says something like "We've dubbed it the Crucible"

Haha...I like MP and all, but I don't think anybody at BW could possibly believe that any MP DLC could assuage the anger regarding the endings. :)

"Project Crucible", led in to the conversation that it's being called as such because it's possibly the most ambitious undertaking in human history (humanity's test is to build the thing in time).  But, hmmmmm ....

Anyway, that's a sign that it's time to hammer through the game again. (laughs)

One of the meanings of the word "crucible" is "a severe test".

Yep, that pretty much sums up most of the dialog between ITers and Anti-ITers on BSN.

Haha, that's so brilliant. It's almost as if Bioware predicted this as well.

Yeah. You didnt know about HoloLegion?

He's nowhere near as cool as the real Legion.

Padok Wiks is cool enough it almost makes having Mordin die worth it, but I cant say the same for HoloLegion.

He doesnt have any of the... humanity(?) of Legion, he's just cold and analytical.

No I don't like HoloLegion. It's like talking to a toaster.

I wanted to start talking about Legion and Shepards armor, but after the discussion I had today, I'm a little worn out.

For anyone who cares: episode 2 of RvB season 10 was pretty awesome.

Only disappointing part is it is entirely Project Freelancer flashback stuff, and no present day stuff.

Not that the Freelancer stuff isnt awesome.
