That's the thing that confuses me about him, even if you take things at face value you have to ask "why"? Why does he "preserve" oganics anyway? What does he care if synthetics kill us all? He IS synthetic is he not? Wouldn't it actually be much easier to just come in and scold anyone who makes a sentient AI?

Even at face value there must be a reason they want to keep organics around, and for some reason I don't think it's "cause they actually care about our well being.....

Reapers reap... they don't "preserve".

That image is disturbing as hell? Is it an ingame thing or somegthing fan made

It's from the retake earth trailer before the release of ME3.

That'd explain why I never saw it, I was on a complete media blackout on Mass Effect 3. Only trailer I watches was the one at the Spike VGAs

Honestly I only saw that for the first time yesterday.....

It's only one of the best trailers ever! One of the other best ones is this:

Ehm look what i posted later. They are simply setting up defensive line a little futher out from the Citadel, liekly so they dont have to worry about it when mauvering in the coming battle.

We'll agree to disagree, I'm calling it now, the crucible is a reaper device and it's purpose is mass indoctrination, also Shepard is the true catalyst and the reapers need him/her for the crucible to complete it's task, if I'm wrong then I'll look like an online idiot, won't be the first time.

I don't believe that Shepard is the true Catalyst, but I do believe that the Crucible is some kind of Reaper weapon of mass indoctrination, or something to that effect.

Besides the really strange looking child and cartoony people, come on bioware you can do 3d animation better then that..... it was like a step down from the ME2 promotional videos were they looked realistic sort of.

Well, it has been estimated to be around 50% more powerful than the current gen.  Of course, it still won't hold a candle to a powerful PC.

Note: I'm not trying to restart this debate.  Just stating facts.

I'm sure the moderators will sympathize with us the poor ME3 players seeking consolation in E3 conferences. Posted Image

Much has been said about current Reaper models not being susceptible to the feedback caused by the deaths of their avatars, but I would point out that Harbinger was not assuming direct control in the same way that Sovereign did. Sovereign establishe a direct ship to husk link with Saren at the end of ME1. Harbinger, by contrast, was working through the Collector General. The Collector General could easily have served as a buffer against peon-death-feedback. Now, had Shepard killed the Collector General before Harbinger released it, then Harbinger might have been stunned.

That's true, I hadn't thought of that. Kind of like a mental firewall. Plus the Collectors had been engineered as Reaper servants, so they would naturally be designed to be easily possessed and then discarded.

For a third thing, we know Shepard is special and particularly strong willed as s/he survived contact with the Prothean beacon when by rights s/he should have died.

I've been away from the forums for a while, so pardon me for asking, but:

What's with the new reinvigorated interest in the Hallucination Theory? Is it still just people holding out hope, or is there something substantial someone found...?

There's a bunch of interesting stuff been found over the past month or so (a month tomorrow since I joined BSN ).

Also, has anyone noticed just how angry the people on the HTL forums are? I think we should group-buy them some prozac...

Plus the Community Manager, Chris Priestly raised everyone's hopes by creating a poll on the HTL website asking people if they believed in the I.T. -
http://www.holdtheli...on-theory.1909/ .

It might just have been innocent curiosity on his part, but it does make you wonder why he's encouraging us to speculate on these lines.

You mean besides the well-established symbolism and precedents that point towards it? Or the contextual inconsistencies and contradictions with taking the ending at face value? I'd say those things are substantial, though it is certainly subjective to an extent, until we know the truth.

And you are mistaken in thinking the interest in IT is "reinvigorated". It never died down. In fact, interest and belief are at an all time high, and is steadily increasing. The "official" poll on the HTL forums current shows that 80% of players that have an account on that forum believe the IT is true.

I consider myself a guy who doesn't believe crazy things... The evidence around this theory is just too much for me to not see a pattern buried in the game. The pattern is there... I can't say if it's true or not... Bioware will tell.

It is fairly obvious at this point that the angry vocal minority no longer speak for the majority. Perhaps they once did. But as the poll shows, the majority now fall under the hopeful, optimistic camp of IT believers.

With any luck we'll have EC before the end of July. I can only hope.

I hope they don't screw my birthday (July 27) with a poor and bad EC...

That's nothing...my wife and I were married on July 24th...our son (our second child), was born on July 25th - so much for anything around those dates being about us...so if it is released around then, I won't get a chance to get right to it - which means that I will have to try and avoid things like the plague or lest I will be spoilt.
