The only explanations are:
Bioware screwed up the lore regarding the Cain
Bioware intentionally rejiggered the lore of the Cain without telling us
That scene isnt real and the wrongness of the Cain is a clue
As is the ease in which a Reaper destroyer falls... 1 shot kill... for the first time ever. May as well been a YMIR Mech from ME2.
You know, you raise a good point. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if the usage and depiction of the Cain is even more of a clue than we think it is.
I'll preempt here and say that this could just be a wild stretch, and way off, but I might as well entertain the idea just incase.
Anyway, at the end of ME2, most of us find out that a single shot from the Cain is not enough to take out even a larval Reaper in one shot. So in a way, the usage/depiction of the Cain in the Hades Cannon Reaper scene could be a sort of double clue. The first clue being that the Cain is, well, not the Cain at all, and the second being that we already know that a shot from a Cain is not enough to outright kill a Reaper.
I'm hesitant to fully throw myself behind that, especially because of all the implications of basically thinking the entire London sequence is a hallucination, but I think the idea has some merit.
Yeah, but add in the 'I was born in London...' Blank, or doubtful stare.
Wrex and wanting to name a girl Mordin on Tuchanka claims it's Bakara's idea at the LZ and he 'doesn't know why' she would want to??
Liara: Nuff said... just empty, useless, blank, gift?
Everyone is depressing. James and Tali may be the exceptions.
The QEC lol - and the godly phonebook - I can't go fight right now - Shep could call any minute.
The vacancy of the entire push.
Not sure what to make of the Wrex/Wrev scene, other than 'oh crap' or 'oh good' but I swear the scene changes slightly the higher my EMS is... Wrex seems to get out in some and gets engulfed in the blast in others.
That scene is not something Shep possibly could see or know about... it's something only the player could see. Something to kick the player in the gut with.
There is more even before the beam run... that datapad in the hospital area about the voices in the back of the authors head that won't shut up... can't believe people don't see that as a freakin indoctrination beakon! - could be Sheps subconcious.
_____
Off topic!!
Oh oh!
Tim's line... The pattern was there, burried in the data.
Liara ME1.. The pattern is there, burried in the data.
Creeeeeepy.
During my first playthrough I thought the stuff got weird when you launch your final assault on the Cerberus Base.
Everything after that just seems - off.
There is also the whole Tali Romance coming back to you if you choose the geth over the quarians etc that I haven't confirmed but seen other people say happens. (This scene happens with the third dream apparently)
Earth seemed funny, the Cerberus base seemed funny, Hacket coming onboard the Normandy and giving his speech seemed funny. Everything was just....off from the moment you launch that final assault.
So yeah, I've been a believer that something is happening and affecting reality for Sheaprd from the point you launch the Cerberus base assault.

Well, fair warning, after so much time, people are some what married to there theories so expect alot of debate. But I for one would be very interested in hearing a new, well thought out theory. So you should unload it here, if only for my entertainment.:happy:Turbo_J wrote...
It's nice to finally share and have it taken seriously. I've been hanging on to all this info for months - just mentally tired of trying to explain it, I figured why bother.
I could add 20 pages worth of this crap in support of indoctrination. I guess when I found and announced that the park at the beginning didn't even exist and nobody seemed to care, I figured nothing else I had to say would matter either.

Lol was it you that recently posted the pics of the park not being there/burnt? (saw that when catching up with this thread before joining in) I thought that was pretty significant.
might have been mine

I don't think there would be any way. Quantum entanglement is a real phenomenon. Google it or Wiki it, and you'll probably understand how this type of communication couldn't be intercepted.

I will admit, it is a bit frustrating having a theory you have all nice and packed down contested, but well, the light of reality must sometimes shine in and dispell a few cobwebs. Purify our IT please and show us the assumptions we made lacking information. Who knows, we might come out of this more solid for it.

*Sigh* fine, you want you want my genuine thoughs on it? You asked for it.
One, "a fraction of the speed of light" describes alot of speeds for one, for two, read the Cain's description, that is what it says. and the human eye is capable of perciving a jet as moving fast, yet still is capable of seeing it, even when it could be breaking the sound barrier at mach 2, hence our eyes could potentially perceive it as moving slower than it is.
As for the effect that the Cain had, one the number of them is limited, we only see 2 in the entire game for one, they were a single prototype weapon we saw for the first time just last year, and has only spent maybe 6 months at most in the hands of the Alliance.
But more to the point what I genuinely think happened was since the Hades Cannons are mounted on the backs of destroyers, it blasted the cables and supports, unmooring them, causing the entire assembly to rip off from the destroyer's back, which disabled the cannon, even if it did not manage to disable the Reaper, you also have to remember, 25 Kilos is a ****ton of explosives, and I mean alot. You can put a pretty sizable hole in something with that, especially considering they are high velocity explosives which are especially nasty.
You need to check your facts, Arian. Maybe I should have been more clear when I said "Except it doesnt". It does NOT fire a 25 kilogram glob of explosives, it fires a 25 gram SLUG in a straight line.Your entire explanation is invalid.
Don't get snippy with me laddybuck.
Either way a 25 gram SLUG, still would contain a not inconsiderable quantity of high explosives, and since it is accelerated by a mass effect it is pure slug, meaning the entire thing is potentially a jacketed explosive, which considering a PAINT CHIP acclerated to a sufficient degree can explode with the force of a nuclear bomb it is going to do some damage. And since density can affect explosive force, even if it is smaller than say a soft ball (which judging by the size of the barrel, is roughly how big the thing is) either way, BIG ****ING BOOM.
But all of that pales in comparison of the fact that in my opinion it didn't kill the Destroyer, merely knocked the cannon from it's mooring, causing the whole thing to rip away and crushing the Destroyer under the weight of it's own weapon, which has been stated to be nothing more than a big gun strapped to it's back.

That WAS my argument, since it states it shoots it really fast, when you fire a high explosive slug at superhigh speeds you get a railgun, a classic sci-fi staple. But in the end I am not going to bother arguing it, since the "Hades Cannon seeking" bit was just so you wouldn't waste Cains in my opinion, since they only fire once and they only put two of them there.

i would like to say first i want IT as the Ending becuase the current ones are unfulfilling however it leaves me with a big problem if it is.
this is a game you play to finish it unless you know it is a series then can expect a ending that leaves you wanting more. However this is the end of the shepard series so we as players should expect an final ending be it sad or happy (i would like a happy ending as well as a sad one ie Para or Rena). but the breath scene leaves you thinking there is more to come no sense of this has ended and that is my problem if Bioware use IT we did not win or lose just a body in some rubble with no final result. EC is no new game play just as bioware say just more answers but with IT you would not have won or lost unless they build something like you beat IT all the reapers leave type answer and i think i would be more pissed at that because it would make the game very lack luster in the ending not a bad as the starchild one but still rusbish

Sorry, if it seems that way, but I think that everybody's post will be uncommented from time to time. But that doesn't mean we don't acknowledge them. I can say that I read most posts but don't comment on all, no matter what content.
EDIT: prettz posted it first.
Sorry, main comp crashed. Video card fianlly ate itself. Complete and total fan failure. This makes card# 2 (XFX 6870) in a month.
I knew about the park for close to two months. Posted about it a few times but not in the big original thread or this one until a few days ago. I created a video about it a month ago.

Hopefully I'll have my main box back up and running by the end of the day. All the good pics and video are on that one. I usually have that stuff stored on the NAS but I recently rebuilt and have not set up syncronization.
