Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark II!

What if the catalyst is actually a fail safe built into the crucible to test the activator of it for their resolve / indoctrination?
What if what we're experiencing is not indoctrination, but a kind of fail safe to check that the person who will control the Crucible is not a Reaper agent?

Or what if the game itself is a Kobayashimaru test for the fanbase?
But about your theory: could be, but then the Catalyst is still (on) the Citadel. Then the Reaper's plan to move it to Earth makes less sense again.

This only really works if you ignore the previous 20+ hours of gameplay, all the foreshadowing, and what you know about reaper indoctrinationIcinix wrote...

Ha! Well at the moment, that is indeed exactly what the game is. The game is set up as a no-win scenario.
Fortunatley - we're all stubborn boostards who don't believe in no-win scenarios.

Maybe the real test is that as soon as you are presented with the 3 choices, you turn off your game, to proove that you will not take any of the Catalyst crap... at which point the game wil lrestart by itself and say "You have done it, you stood up to me, that was the test!"

Not really, the indoctrination can still be occuring, or at least being attempted.
The battle between Anderson and TIM can still be TIM being the indoctrination attempting to take over while Anderson can be the Crucible assisting you.
As it stands, people have said the clues and Anderson etc are your subconcious fighting back. What if they're the crucible giving you a leg up?

As I edited in my post above, it would make the Reaper's plan to relocate the Citadel to Earth stupid again. It being a trap seems more coherent to the nature of the Reaprs.

Absoloutely. But I always thought the need to reloacate the cidatel was always dumb anyway.
But if it is a trap, we still need a way to defeat the Reapers if conventional is not an option.
Edit: Anyway, just a thought, this way keeps the crucible as a weapon idea intact, while still upholding indoctrination theory - at least in a sense.
The idea here would be that the catalyst isn't the catalyst, the catalyst is the person who passes the Guardian / Crucible. The person who does that can then activate the weapon.

If you unlock the end armour with the hole in it in the coaelescd file you can wander around looking like you've just been harbingerified for the entire gamedreamgazer wrote...

Also probably worth noting is that your ruined armour that can be unlocked and used in-game has a hole in the leg, although that doesn't preclude it being from an old version of the ending.
Wait, what's this now?

As much as I love Liara being my Shep's LI, her being indoctrinated and me having to decide whether to kill her or not...that be an incredibly awesome move from Bioware...badassful in the very sense of the definition.

Uploading a crap load of screen grabs from when Shep mows down the destruction tube. After watching it about 15 times in super slow-mo I'm going with Carnifex the whole way, but once I upload the the 20 pics you guys can decide as it's still a little ambiguous.

I mean I've watched it too many times and I can't seem to see a definitive point where it could suddenly become the predator ... I've used both guns in MP a lot (actually finished every map on Gold boast, boast) and even I'm struggling to decide during those final explosions.

I've scene those photos before, but despite the apparent two-tone effect in these shots I'm not seeing the same result in my video. I'm uploading the photos for proof right now. Do you have the original video these images came from? I'm curious to compare because maybe there's more to this!
