Me too.  The sepia colors, the screen distortion, the unpleasant swirling sounds ... all intentional atmospheric devices.  Groaned every time I knew I was about to hop in there.

I do love the surreal, cerebral design of the whole thing, though.

That last funny tweet about the Biotic God gives me hope. Usually, people in the game industry only make that kind of jokes about an unknown project when they really think people will be pleased with it. At least, the people I know.

Excellent! That looks like it may be a different split second than the youtube screenshot though. Cant really see any coloring. I suppose there is the chance that the coloring is an optical illusion in the youtube video, but that seems unlikely since the "colors" are spot-on.

Hmmm... Well, to me it seems that the colors change. Look at the pants, for example. Earilier on, they were as white as the rest of reaperbieber. Now, they're black. Or look at its face. that also changes color.

Man, I really don't want to read into that tweet, but it gets me thinking that they really do know that folks want their decisions (and war assets) to factor into Priority: Earth.

I honestly admit that I didn't consider the Catalyst to be lying. He gave me 3 choices and the best (after thoughtful analysis, of course) was Control. Least damage, most gain.

Considering one of the masterminds of the storyline is a psychologist, I wouldnt be surprised if the fact that so many of us bought into the Starbinger's propaganda is actually a result of the subtle manipulations that reach through the game and affect the player directly. If anyone would know how to do that, a psychologist would.

Well, I didn't new about Walter's degree at that time. And I didn't consider a computer game to be tricky to such an extent that it becomes sorta a metagame (that the end doesn't reveal the truth but twists everything to an unbearable degree).

Events even leading up to that felt like they were supposed to wear you down physically and emotionally. Did anyone else just feel drained by the time the catalyst scene hit? Thanks to that, the most I even noticed the first time around was the datapad about the people walking toward the beam and the "created will always rebel against the creator" nonsense.

It would be safe to say that if Shepard defeats indoctrination, it would be the turning point in the most important war of all time. In real life, where was the battle that is generally called the turning point of the most important war of real history? ... Normandy.

An interesting thought, but that's probably reaching a bit too far.

For Bioware? Hell no, that is not reaching too far. Could it be a coincidence? Sure. But if true? It's just about conclusive proof that ME3's "Player Indoctrination ending" was planned from the very start.

Could be, however I would be more inclined to believe this if Normany was an exception to the naming stracture but I believe all Alliance frigates are named after historic battles.

Another far reaching idea -  cronos station could refer to the greek legend of Chronos who was the personifcation of time itself. There is also a Titan called Cronos but he is famous for castrating Uranus which 1: Doesn't tie into anything and 2: Sounds really disturbing Posted Image

Kronus the titan (Also, Saturn, Saturnus, Chronos, Chronus, Kronos, Kronus, ect.) was the titan God of Time, as well as it's personification, the first son of Oranos, (Uranus to the Romans) the god of the sky dome, son and mate of Gaia, Mother Earth.

Chronos, was given a sickle of flint by his mother Gaia, who ordered him to castrate his father for the crime of impisoning his less pretty brothers and sisters, such as the Hekatonchieres (The Hundred Handed Ones) Cyclopes and Giants in the bowels of the Earth, known as Tarterus (Or Tartarus) the lowest level of the Underworld, also known as Gaia's womb.

Chronus castrated Oranos, tossing the remains into the sea, where his blood gave birth to the sea foam that one day would become the goddess of Love, Aphrodite. Chronus then broke the bargain made with his mother and seized his father's throne as the king of the Gods, his brothers and sisters then ruling the earth.

Chronus had several children by his wife and sister, the Titaness Rhea, she bore him 6 children, the gods Pluto (Hades) Hestia (Goddess of the Hearth) Hera (Juno to the Romans) Poseidon (Neptune) Demeter (Goddess of the Fields) all of whom he swallowed whole as soon as they were born, to preempt the prophecy that he would be overthrown by his own child as he overthrew his father. Rhea, displeased by her husband's acts, sought aid from her mother Gaia, who told her to give birth to her youngest child in secret, allowing him to be raised by the goat Alemathea and a number of sea nymphs in Crete, while she would present a stone, wrapped in swadling cloth, a bitter herb secreted within the folds of the cloth, to Chronus to swallow.

Rhea did so, allowing her youngest child, Zeus, to grow quickly and strong, while she presented the stone to Chronus, who fell for the trick, swallowing the rock and vomiting up his other swallowed children, whom immediately sided with their brother, whom then lead them in a war against the Titans, known as the Titanomachy.

When Zeus and his siblings prevailed, some of the notable titans, such as Promethus and his brother Epimethus (Forethought and Afterthought) siding with the Olympians, as well as shattering the locks to the Tartarean gates, unleashing the Hekatonchieres, Gigantes and Cyclopes who joined the Olympian army, they defied Gaia's orders once again and locked the Titans in Tarterus behind great gates, where Chronus would wait and plot, impotent as his son ruled the world above.

There, the entire myth, make what connections you will.

I know I certainly did. I was only able to half-pay attention to what Starbinger was even saying, and I know I'm not alone in that, because several other people have said the same.

Not trying to dismiss this as I think it's a good find, but the ghostly image of the child is done by applying shaders to the textures, there is a chance the shaders from the control console effects are interfering with the shaders on the child.

Normally I might agree with that, but considering how blatant and extensive the "interference" is, combined with the matching symbolism with the gun transition, I'm inclined to think that it is intentional.

Plus, I'm no graphics expert, but I really cant imagine a scenario where an effect like we see eminating from the control console would have that drastic of an unintentional effect on Starbinger's model.

I think that overkill slaughterfest at the Thanix missles contributed to that to a great deal. But also all the confusion that builds up during the Anderson/TIM conversation.

I don't think such an interference would be overlooked. I'm not sure if it's even possible.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. We can't say IT can be proven by that tweet. But I'm sure someone like him wouldn't tweet about a leaked "new ending of the Extended Cut DLC" and be sad about "spoiling the surprise" if EC wasn't going to please the fans.

I felt this too. It felt worse every time you lost someone. Mordin, Thane, Legion. It culminates at Thessia's fall. By the time you've defeated TIM and sat down with Cerberus, you think you're done. You let go. And then it keeps going...
