So I'm skipping ahead and going to try and keep up to date. Must say its all been very interesting stuff, some very convincing and some not-so convincing and some that's just blown my mind so hard I actually couldn't think for a few seconds (namely - Control, Alt, Delete = Task Manager. Just wow, what a coincidence/massive clue).
Nothing else to really add, other then to say this thread has helped me get over my anger towards ME3's ending. And weirdly, convinced me to start doing Multiplayer (though I can't bring myself to play single player again. Yet). Just another voice in support of all the hard work done!

Would it make you feel better if that battle with Leng could be won? I'm not really trying to defend anything so I don't know why you're getting excited.
Hmmm a game like this you can't always win, and that's why I like Priority Thessia because not matter what happens you always lose.
I remember people speculated before the game came out that Kai Leng was at some point going to give Shepard a No Holds Barred Beatdown as a way of showing the players and Shepard that she isnt invincible.
I'd have preferred that to the "Tee hee! I'm gonna shine lights in your eyes! Then I'm gonna send you the email equivalent of a rickroll later! Tee hee, I'm such a naughty boy!" crap we got from Kai Leng on Thessia.
I thought the fight on Thessia was well done because of how much it made me hate Kai leng. Even with the gunship aiding him, victory seemed attainable so long as I pushed hard enough, but in the end Kai snatches victory out of my hands and casually walks off with the VI. The email afterward was just icing on the troll-cake. He absolutely had to die.

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but the music in the decision room gives me headaches after a while, and so does this youtube video. (Mind you, this is not a general reaction i have to music, it's just for this weird sound. My brain apparently cannot process it properly or something.)
Edit: faszinating, Nintendo used this effect in the "endless staircase" in Mario 64 www.youtube.com/watch
Certain combinations of tones and pitches are certainly capable of causing headaches.
Yknow what always made me feel weird?
Freakin Lavender Town.
Gah, I have it playing in another tab just so I could get the link and it already makes me feel weird. Damn you Lavender Town! Damn you!
Ahhhh what a soothing lullaby....
Jk, is this that song that susposedly made chhildren comit suicide or something, i know thats not true, but still..

Many of the finer details were lost on me during my first (and only) playthrough due to the fact I completed it all within three days and was buzzing like crazy off caffiene and adrenaline. Which lends itself well to the idea of Shepard not noticing weird goings on, since he/she would have been going through much worse mental strain then myself as a player.
I did notice some of the obvious things during the end pretty quickly though:
1/ Unlimited ammo on the Carnifex. I didn't notice the reload though, despite having a Carnifex as a side arm, since I played as a Soldier and thus was using my Revenant 90% of the time.
2/ Armour was wrong. Mine was red, not grey. I chalked it down to 'badly done burn effects' at the time.
3/ Floaty movement, like I was sliding around on ice. Didn't think much of it at the time, felt like maybe it was a gameplay elements to speed things up (since limping that slowly would have probably doubled the length of the final parts).
4/ Things Anderson was saying, they just didn't add up. How did he know he was ahead of me, for example? How did he know we were even walking in the same direction?
5/ TIM smacked of Saren. Felt like I was back at the end of ME1 again, and while 'going full circle' sometimes works well this time it felt wrong. Didn't feel like I was talking to TIM in his right frame of mind.
6/ Starbinger just confused me. I actually stumbled into Destroy quite by accident (despite actually wanting to do it, I didn't know where it was or how I did it).
7/ The final cutscene left me thinking... Well, very bad things. I beleive I may have even said "So what, the whole game was a fairy tale?"
Will you believe I didn't actually notice the fact the UI was gone though? The most obvious thing, completely unnoticed!
But yeah, the whole thing led me to making a rather sad video about how I felt about the game as a whole. And while I hate shameless self-promotion, if anyone wants to see how badly I reacted to it all its right here:
If only I'd stumbled onto the previous thread

Reminds me of the theory on what happened to the Ikana in Legend of Zelda: Majora´s Mask. Ultra dark stuff in an already dark game

Long read, but this along with the above says something about hwo much can be hidden beneath the surface of an otherwise simple looking game.
It is similar to what we hope for except that the hidden stuff is supposed to be revealed and not simply something up for interpretation.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Its possibly my favourite Nintendo game ever made. The fact its so trippy and surreal, the combat is tight, the story and plot are a break from the norm for Zelda games, and the ticking clock really make the game very urgent*. But my goodness, the game got hard quickly. Much harder then Ocarina of Time, I never actually managed to ENTER the 3rd temple because of one of the pre-quests to get access to the Water Temple. Still amazing though.
*Side note. ME3 needed a galactic countdown. Like a cutoff point where you had to prepare for the final battle, and then it comes ready or not. Would have ment choices actually, you know, mattered - who do you spend time trying to win over, what side quests do you take the time to complete, etc. But I digress.

It is among the greatest games in the world...though you might want to take that with grain of salt as i am major Legend of Zelda fan boy.
Still just about every single one of the Legend of Zelda games are incredible in their own way and fans argue to death which is the best one (my personal is Skyward Sword). Majoras Mask is certainly one of the more atypical with its 3. day cycle and I hated it at first as I have had a major problem with time pressure.
But the game is filled with incredible content. A massive mask side quest and a an expansive world. It is also largely considered the darkest Legend of Zelda not just counting the moon that is falling.
Wont go to much into dteail as taht is seriusly off topic and i could go on for hours.

Well, the main things I have noticed is the surreal nature of the latter sections of the game. Almost as if Shepard's mind is slowly crumbling.

Those are all great points, thanks for sharing.
I noticed the UI was gone, but I didnt realize the significance until I read that there is a progression to the dreams
In the first dream, you still have your weapons, and there are no oily shadows, and there is minimal whispering
By the second dream, your weapons are gone, there are oily shadows, and the whispering is more pronounced, and becomes
In the third dream, the amount of paper scraps flying around has dramatically increased, and the kid is constantly running away from you. In addition, your doppelganger is seen burning along with the kid while smiling.
It all seems like a progression to me.

I would almost say be glad you never amde it into the 3. temple. It is killer, even when compared to thye Ocarina water temple and the boss is ridicoulsly hard unlike the ocarina of time water temple boss...
...and now I need to get back on topic before I lose myself in discussing Legend fo Zelda.
