Yeah, but that kid was outside playing every day. Constantly reminding Shepard of what was at stake. And Shepard knew the Reapers were coming. They were getting closer and closer and closer.

Not the best situation to keep the mind stable.

Is it just me or the characters in ME3 look strangely exhausted in comparison to ME2?

Could that be an effect of indoctrination? Look at Miranda and Jacob. Shepard also doesn't look well. As if they were tired of fighting even if they do not acknowledge that. Their faces are pale and old. Btw, they are all humans. Ashley is the only one who looks better than in ME2 but she's already indoctrinated. Posted Image

Noticed it.. Dont have any coherent thoughts on the matter though, unfortunately.

I would say ashley looks better because she wasn't with you on the suicide mission. Everyone else has their reason to be stressed besides the reaper attack.

Miranda is hunting her dad while running from Cerberus and Jacob is protecting Cerberus refugees and his love interest. They're on guard 24/7. Then Shepard as we all know is under the most stress of them all.

But Shepard was on vacation for 6 months.

On vacation while petitioning for someone to listen to him but being ignored. Knowing that a super race of machines is about to wipe everyone out but no one believes you is a heavy wieght.

No, we got Thanix cannons from Sovereign, not missiles. And due to the way Thanix technology works, as I've pointed out, "Thanix Missiles" is a contradiction of terms. There is also no codex entry for it. One would think that a piece of tech so vital to the survival of the galaxy would have a flippin' codex entry... if it were real.

Sorry, Cannons then. That's very odd. Maybe it was so top secret that there's no documentation on it, although a few people seem to know what it is and how much damage they do.

I'm just wondering what prevented the people working on Sovereign from becoming mind freaked?

I will entertain that possibility, but I still think it points towards a theme that something is wrong with the London sequence.

Not sure what's going on with the people that worked on Sovereign, though.

I don't still have the spectral thing I screenshotted, but basically I did this:

-Had nice filter box and nice speakers still plugged in.
-Set it to filter out everything above 20Hz at 24dB/Octave (pretty steep)
-Turned 400W amp up to full.
-Went back to ME3
-Started walking around normandy.
-Watched speaker vibrate along the floor of the room
-Got complaints from downstairs neighbour

Sweet dude! You just proved the presence of infrasonic noise on the Normandy. Good lord, that is powerfully significant!

It would take a ridiculous amount of bias to write that off as unintentional, since that frequency is inaudible and wont be reproduced by most home theater/pc setups, 99+% of the playerbase will never even know it's there, much less be able to hear it! There is no way a developer would put that in there unless it were a clue.

I want to repost this on the new page because I want to stress how significant this is.

TSA, would it be possible for you to record this on video? The cone of the subwoofer would obviously be moving more than enough to be seen in a recording.

Well if they went crazy, I see it as more reason to keep the project quiet.

Why would the cain fly sideways? Very similar to the Thanix missiles when the Destroyer was close to the beam.

Well that really is something.  Not sure what it means, but it certainly shows there are hidden elements to the game.  You can't record sounds like that by accident, can you?

That's precisely the point. Cain projectiles can NOT fly sideways. In fact, the speed at which the weapon operates is the source of it's destructive power. You wouldnt even be able to see anything except the explosion, just like we see in ME2, and if we use the second Cain in ME3 to shoot at anything else.

The cain flew lke that because it shouldn't have been damaged if the cain hit the armor plating. If it did, then you'd wonder why ever soldier doesn't have a cain. So instead the made it fly into a weakspot that you most likely wouldn't have able to aim at.

No, it absolutely can not, and would not, happen by accident. And I think it's obvious what it means. A hallmark of indoctrination is present on the Normandy. Not something that could be interpreted as a cause of indoctrination (i.e. Reaper IFF).

A hallmark. Something exact and specific, the only purpose of which is to be an element of causing indoctrination.

Well aren't sound waves from indoctrination often heard? Could this be a sound effect from the Core?

Epyon, are you trying to get on my nerves? Perhaps I should reiterate.

The Cain does NOT FIRE IN THE MANNER THAT WE SEE IT TAKE DOWN THE HADES CANNON.  It just doesnt. Set aside your reasoning on why it homes in on the area that it does, and focus on the fact that its basically the ME equivalent of a Glock firing a heat seeking missile. It just. doesnt. happen.

EDI's hardware, maybe.  Or the Reaper IFF.

Regardless, its interesting.  Even if it has an answer, the fact the sounds are even there and out of normal hearing says a lot about the mind games that are going on.

As for Priority: Earth, I don't even know.  The combat in that part is a mess in general, the fact we have a Cain that acts like a homing missile and 'Thannix Missiles' really passed over my head.  Not sure I'm willing to go as far to say its all a dream, but it certainly isn't right.

And its not a case of laziness either, since why would they put them in the game at all if that was the case?

Edit: Misread 'why' as to 'what'.  *cough*  I actually agree with you.

Funny thing here, is that when I first happened upon IT, I spent a good while tearing my hair out over the fact that I picked Control like a bloody lemming - and I was really torn between that and Destroy at the time.

Well, now I know how Saren felt when Shepard finally convinced him that he was Indoctrinated at the end of the first game. Thank you ITers, you just saved me from a world of grief when the EC comes around.

Compelling. I wonder if there are also ultrasonic sounds on the Normandy?

Perhaps that's the symbolism of Shepard keeping hold of the gun in destroy. Shepard uses the gun to destroy the Reaper influence... in the only way possible. :crying:
