Yeaaaah... don't quit your day job.

Unless your audience consists exclusively of IT nerds (IT as in Information Technology, not, well this thread)

I suppose it could be worse, I have a tendency to make jokes about obscure historical facts and D&D concepts.

Yeah, I got my IT's confused for a second there. Should work on properly dotting my i's and crossing my t's.

*collective disgusted moan from the crowd*

...what?

T's ain't the only thing you're crossing.

Though crossing even one T is a dangerous prospect.

suppose that could be left up to individual interpretation,

So, no explanation why destroy is correct option besides meta-evidence (which is really debatable), verbal abuse, and personal beliefs? I see.

To me it kinda feels like the game is saying destroy was Anderson's path, control was TIM's, but you're path is synthesis. Come on. Pick synthesis. In a literal interpretation this could indicate that BW set up synthesis as the "best" ending, but from an IT standpoint, it seems to enhance the deception, especially if you consider that these images are being put in your head by starbinger.

I dunno, I'm tired, but curious what other's interpretations may be.

If IT is truly as "meta" as we think, the whole high EMS = best ending available = Synthesis situation could very well be part of the trick. So yeah, I agree. Things seem to point towards us being made to believe Synthesis will yield the ideal ending.

Right. I am defeated, beaten, and shamed. I cant believe it took this long for someone to finally come along and wield the power of logic and the English language with the level of mastery required to finaly quash IT for good.

Destroy is advocated by, oh i dont know, maybe everyone in game aside from the indoctrinated? EDI says herself she would rather die then become like the reapers. Tim wants control. and synthesis just doesnt sit when when you consider that reapers and their agents are the only example of techno-organic synthesis in series.

Well, you could still argue that correct choice is to commit suicide by waiting. Because, there is no surer way to defeat indoctrination than suicide.

No, Shepard committing suicide is utterly unacceptable. The series shouldn't end that way.

Sure, why not, and let the reapers destroy all advanced organic life in the galaxy. Sounds like winning to me.

You're missing the point of my question.
I was asking, why Reapers cannot use your desire to destroy them for their own good by, say, making Shepard paranoid, who will scre up everything?

Ok I can see where you're going with the whole indoctrination mind screwing thing, but using destroy to make Shepard paranoid? There just no precident, no rhyme or reason for it to turn out that way. Believe it or not, most of our theory, especially regarding the end choices, is based on precident and themes from throughout the Mass Effect trilogy.

You know what, that is a brand new concept so powerful, that it deserves it's own thread.

In fact, you should go make it right now.

Starbuck, you realize he accused me of verbal abuse when I basically spent around 10-15 minutes of my life typing up explanations for him?  Just throw that in there with the weight you put behind where he's going with things.

It was proposed some time ago that gathering all the forces of the Galaxy above Earth makes the Reapers job easier in other parts of the Milky Way. So essentially Shepard did exactly what the Reapers wanted him to do. It'd make sense because the Reapers warned him he cannot win.

If you read his earlier posts, he's actually suggesting the possibility that all Destroy does is cause Shepard to become a psychotic paranoid.

Lol am I being too nice? Okay, here I'll help you get him out of here by thinking up a name for his new theory thread. Shepard Paranoia Indoctrination Theory. SPIT for short. That's catchy.

Edit: And with that, I'm off to bed. Have fun!

Do you have any speculation as to what it might mean in the context of being the credits song for ME3?

Well, if these guys looked up some old German words an saw crime or judgement?
Do I really need to say more? =]

I would say the only thing that means is that the band has a German name and does great music. ME1 had them too, so I can't see anything unusual here.

Yes. Get help.  :P

In all seriousness though, I'm an advocate of us getting something along the lines of Darkspawn Chronicles for DA:O, that takes place in an alternate reality where the good guys lose, and you play as the bad guys running rampant.

I'd personally like to see something like that in ME3, and psychotic paranoid shep would be just as good as anything else I could think of. Probably would be too difficult for most people to stomach though.
