is it wrong that id love to play as a psychotic paranoid shep?

Yes. Get help.  :P

In all seriousness though, I'm an advocate of us getting something along the lines of Darkspawn Chronicles for DA:O, that takes place in an alternate reality where the good guys lose, and you play as the bad guys running rampant.

I'd personally like to see something like that in ME3, and psychotic paranoid shep would be just as good as anything else I could think of. Probably would be too difficult for most people to stomach though.

I agree with this. an A/U DLC where you are indoctrinated or something would be cool, Reaper Shepard a la darkspawn chronicles could be damn cool.

Unless BioWare has already come up with Kai Leng as the protagonist for Dark Mass Effect.

*Ending scene, Shepard suddenly looking into the camera*: "Hello, I'm Commander Shepard and you met me at a very strange time in my life"

There just no precident, no rhyme
or reason for it to turn out that way.

Rhyme? Well. Synthesis means what you would be indoctrinated in Saren way. Control means what you would be indoctrinated as TIM. In Destroy you would be indoctrinated in your own special way. I find that... Fitting.

Reason for choosing this type of indoctrination? Reapers still need Shepard to be indoctrinated, and they had no choice.

Rachni Breeder is precedent of some sort. She promises Shepard her help. She claims that she will fight and destroy ''the machines'', but in the end, she will betray you.

go make it right now

Eh. I'm not arguing with basic premises of I. T. For the sake of discussion, of course.

You're missing the point of my question.
I was asking, why Reapers cannot use your desire to destroy them for their own good by, say, making Shepard paranoid, who will scre up everything?

You know what, that is a brand new concept so powerful, that it deserves it's own thread.

In fact, you should go make it right now.

I've been gone a fair while and this is the first thing I see... Anyway I second HellishFiend's thought; Lord Goose should totally make a new thread to explore this concept, honestly it's the perfect place to explore an subdesarrollado idea.

Also, speaking of missed opportunities:

To say I’ve missed you guys would be a gross understatement; It’s a ghastly dark, bitter and twisted world outside the security of this here sanctuary. Beyond these walls awaits a desolate land filled with rabid flamers, trolls and hatters ... *Shivers* please someone throw me a warm blanket as it was cold outside and I’m pretty sure there were wolves after me.

*Accepts most generous gifts, "Heating Pad?, Sweet! Didn't even know we had such fandangled tech!" hands out high-fives of awesomeness*

It's pretty ugly out there, the multiplayer community is pretty much dying of frustration over both the current ending, the lack of EC news, constant enemy buffs and just general lack of hope.

I've tried explaining the ITD to some randoms that have asked my opinion about the ending but for every enlightened listener there seems to be two very vocal, stubborn and overly-dramatic naysayers.

I just can’t believe the sheer number of lazy-minded individuals who aren’t even willing to push past the social branding of “BioWare are lazy” and actually be willing to listen to reasonable thought and enter into intellectual debate.

P.S. I got quoted? Sweet! ... Wait... was it profound?, surely it wasn't “My cat’s breath smells like cat food!” was it?

Your theory is starting to reach scary levels of accuracy... so much so, that I can’t help but take some of their trolling with a slight grin on my face.

Having said that, it still has a habit of wearing on me; my favorite non-ITD explanation for how Shepard is alive during the destruction ending is “Star child is a deity that mentally teleported Shepard back down after he destroys the tube” after laughing hysterically and asking if they were serious and what evidence they had, their core response was “what evidence do you have against it?” ... I just laughed some more.

I agree :? I may be psychic

My personal favorite was one I think I saw in Balance's sig a while back that said that Shepard got teleported back by the synthesis beam which also reverted his body to pre ME2 for... some inexplicable reason.

Though there was another good one a page or so ago, something to the effect of "The problem with IT is that it solves too many plot holes, that's what's wrong with it."

Wow, just wow, it's like a million brain cells cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.... I guess people who subscribe to that kind of logic must be nievly happy with the circular reasoning Star-child gives you when he says "I made synthetics to kill you so you won't have to be killed by synthetics".

Well, I will give them that it sounds good... if you don't think about it. And the logic is a bit more, well logical than that, it's "We destroy those capable of synthetics rather than destroying synthetics themselves, because Synthetics could wipe out those capable of making those capable of making synthetics", but it's not as catchy, really the only true fault of THAT paticular bit of false logic is the assumption that this must always be the case, and the fact that they never bothered to cut out the middle man and just kill synthetics..
