This is brilliant. I would not be surprised if you are very close to the truth. I love the idea that the Geth history and storyline, when added with the Reaper manipulation, is very telling of the way that the Reapers truly operate and maintain control.

edit: The only thing I dont like is the Dark Energy plot. I would still much prefer that to be the infamous red herring we were warned about. I loathe the idea that the Reapers have been secretly working for our "benefit" all along, be it org vs synth or dark energy or otherwise.

I would not call gooifying a galaxy every 50K years in hopes of making a super computer to stop some dark energy disaster working for the good of anyone. I just put that DE in there to rationalize construction of sentient super computers. Reapers are super computers, but why!

I still prefer the more mundane version of galaxy = farm

Why use limited resources like asteroids and planets (Think of Legions explanation about why they don't live on planets) when you can use a renewable resource that never runs out... and even offers some advancement while you laze around on the edge of dark space.

four-ee blu-ee two?

I don't think its possible for the organic goo to be sentient..... its just genetic material at that point. Exactly what the reapers want.
Not really disagreeing with you just throwing this out there. My first thought when when I got into this conversation a couple of days ago was that the goo being sentient in some way was a byproduct of Reaper efficiency. Not wanting to waste any part of an organic when they 'store them in a new form' they melt down organics with nanides that copy genetic information on a cellular level. Memories, personalities, ideas, philosophies, scientific discoveries. They may recombine them in new ways, but a degree of rebellion would still exist and need to be controlled, break that control and rebellion ensues. Maybe?
Certainly more plausible, but im still not sure... dont the reapers just use humans for reproduction?

Anyways this topic has too little information to properly examine it... imo

I'm sure Lord Goose has a perfect answer to that as to everything Mass Effect. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]      SPIT ...... still funny.

Indeed. I think yogi bear is a great analogy for the trolls that come in here and try to steal IT away from us. :bandit:

Me too! This is a case where the mundane/simple explanation winds up being the most compelling.

Some interesting ideas, nothing too concrete as we don't know the answers to some key questions but some good feedback certainly.

And on a personal note - Yay I managed to contribute something newish to this thread after close to 3000 pages

It's a good feeling, isnt it?  Though please, dont discount the contribution of merely participating in discussion here. Most, if not all of my contributions have stemmed from discussion. Others' thoughts compel me to explore new lines of thought, investigation, and discovery of my own. We all work together.

Bad news? I wasn't thinking for a second that it was real---only silly amounts of awesome. :D

All I see is a page of more shots of ole Biotic God himself, at different angles. That's good news to me.

Mass Effect 2 has the best soundtrack of the 3 games.

Mass Effect 3's is better integrated into the game itself though.

I disagree, i think me3 has they slightly better soundtrack. both extremely good though.

And I agree that ME3's conveys more emotions and has really great pieces. As you said - both are extremely good.

There's this one soundtrack that I really like in ME3. It's the one called "Leaving Earth". It stirs a lot of emotions in me everytime I listen to it.

Now back on topic. I just finished ME3 for the second time. Despite how disappointed I felt (might even go as far as to say depressed) with the ending, ME3 on the grand scale was good enough to convince me to go and buy ME2. Finished that one 3 times, each time polishing my choices and 'perfecting' my Shepard even more. Anyway, I kept my eyes peeled (or tried to at least) for any possible 'clues' regarding the IT as I went along. I noticed just one thing. When you kill Marauder Shields at the conduit you hear some garbled talking. It may be coming from Marauder Shields but do any of the other marauders say anything when you shoot them? Maybe with some sound editing we can uncover if there's a message. Maybe play it backwards, I don't know... Yeah, yeah, I sound like I'm, as people here say, 'grasping at straws'. But it might be something... I also have one question, where does the game load after beating the game? With me it was in the horsehead nebula just before TIM's base but I don't know if that's just because that's where my last manual save was or if it's coded to do so and I don't remember where it loaded my game in my first playthrough.

Anyone believed that was real?

I thought that it was just a comedic jest by one of the people working on the EC, which in itself is actually good news.

I thought it was from Bioware too, but in any case, it's just someone's awesome sense of humor at work, so it's cool either way!
