Did you read it before playing the game for the first time? It'd seem like a spoiler.HellishFiend wrote...

To clarify, when I said I had it at around 4000, thatb was when I started priority earth. I played MP ALOT between last part of the game and starting london. My EMS was over 7000 by the time I played through the citadel mission
[EDIT] realise first post made no sense, I definitely had much more than 4000 EMS at ending
Bugger, I forgot how complex this all gets. You say you're replaying an existing game; did you get the breath the first time?
The mechanic of 4000 EMS + Saving Anderson or 5000 EMS = breath scene is fact. It's in the official guide. If you didnt get it, that means your EMS did not meet the requirements at the moment you started the assault on Cronos station. My understanding is that you can not further alter your EMS figure that is used for the ending after that point.

Read above edits. 4000 was at a different time, got confused myselfUnschuld wrote...
This sounds weird. How can you have 7000TMS, 4000EMS, and 100%GR at the same time? Lol.
Edit: are you absolutely sure your GR was at 100% BEFORE Cronus station?

Ooooooor some odd choice during Earth is a factor in the breath scene but I really doubt it.

Hi guys, can you just help me understand something. I just played throught the last part of priority: earth for the first time with over 4000 EMS. I had something in the region of 7000 and I chose destroy, and I didn't get the breath scene! What the hell is up?? I pretty much played that completionist playthrough because after my first compeltion of mass effect 3 I got no shep alive scene and now it hasn't played anyway! I'm frankly distraught, what's going on??
Great time for nobody to be around...
Also, you probably need to NG+ or import a Shepard in order to unlock the scene. If you're already NG+ or import you might be just a few points shy from your readiness rating.
I can somewhat confirm that HOW you save Anderson (through paragon dialogue or reenegade interrupts with default choices) still allows you to get teh breath scene but it's all still dependant on EMS.

Unrelated question: on Sur'Kesh your squaddies comment on how fast Cerberus arrived must make it an inside job. Do we ever find out who the mole was, or get a direct/indirect explanation?
To my knowledge, we do not. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though, because I'm not absolutely positive.

OK, you're saying if my EMS wasn't up to 4000 before assaulting the illusive man, any amount of multiplayer between then adn the ending wouldn't affect my EMS with respect to the ending? I can half see that, but going to the war room after cronos and some multiplayer deinitely showed me with EMS >4000
Correct. Even if your EMS changes after that point, it will be visible on the war terminal, but it wont be used to affect the ending. Not sure why that is. It could even be a clue, potentially? But all we know for sure is that is how the mechanic works. So yeah, you'll have to replay from Cronos station if you want the breath scene...

I forget, the 4000 EMS threshold is caused by saving Anderson, either by killing TIM or suicide, yes? Not just convincing TIM to kill himself only?
Correct. Essentially you just need to have the "You did good, son/child, I'm proud of you" conversation with him to get your +1000 EMS. Make of that what you will...

I believe you're right, but we do find out from the Primarch in a mail something similiar happened with Cerberus and some high ranking Turians at a secret location. We find out during the side mission it starts a Volus gave up the location, so it's possible Cerberus had other Citadel officials tapped. Then again, those STG guys keep things pretty secretive so it's really up to speculation...

We know, think we found out it's because they used the sound of the Graal and the look of the Claymore. Wasn't here for that discussion, someone else feel free to jump in and correct me.
Still doesn't debunk the gun evidence as the sound of the gun doesn't change and changing it at they must have coded it intentionally.

need a fact check is the following statement correct.
M-6 Carnifex is found by Shepard and the files for the M-3 Predator model are loaded up only at the destroy ending.
Nether the control ending or synthesis ending loads up the M-3 Predator
I can indirectly confirm that. I wasnt the one to personally do it, but I do know that someone claimed to have done it.
Would the fact that Shepard fires a gun only in Destroy automatically trigger the loading of the Predator---like a default mechanism?
I would have to say no. There is no precedent for that sort of thing happening. The only time where the wrong gun is ever loaded is during the Wrex betrayal scene. Wrex's gun for a short moment is garbled with the models of two guns at the same time, but that is because Bioware used the model of a Claymore and the sound effect of a Graal Spike Thrower. The claymore is properly shown in all but a couple of the camera shots, where for some reason the models for both are present in his hand.
That is not the case here. The "endgamecarnifex" has its own asset in the game. There would be no reason for it to glitch up and load another gun asset and change to it at that specific moment.
