Alright, a little off topic, but I just finished Deus Ex human revolution.
Best game/story of 2011.
Hell, yeah!
I don't deny that it was a great game, but I would humbly suggest that Batman: Arkham City was superior.
Edit: Until I played Arkham City, Deus Ex, might have been my favorite game from last year. However, it was a strong year for gaming, and I don't necessarily like to declare that one game was THE best from last year. Almost all the major releases that year succeeded in what they were trying to accomplish.

Deus Ex: HR actually run decently on my 5-year-old PC so it was the best. Period.
I absolutely loved the story. I loved the combat and stealth system. Those killing cutscenes looked freaking awesome. And crawling behind desks with FEMA soldiers scanning the area in Vancouver was a one in its kind experience.
Well, that IS a good reason for you to think it is best.

I'm curious, have you ever played a game called Alpha Protocol? It's kind of like Deus Ex, but with a spy theme. It wasn't the most polished game (Obviously, it was made by Obsidian.

), but I thought it was fun.

Yeah, I haven't finished it. I really should. It doesn't stand a chance in comparison with DX: HR though.
I don't claim that it's anywhere near DX: HR. I just think it's a fun game, if you can look past the slightly clunky gunplay and the myriad of bugs and glitches (Like I said, it's made by Obsidian. If you don't expect bugs and glitches from one of their games, you're definitely going to be disappointed.).
I remember the trailers wet my appetite but when I first played Alpha Protocol the controls seemed tedious and nowhere near the Space Bar genius in Mass Effect (yes, I support that feature very much).
Obsidian also made Fallout: New Vegas. An extremely climatic game if you ask me. I hated those long travels through the Mojave desert.
Eh, I've been playing Fallout 3 a little bit, and I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Part of me says that it's pretty atmospheric, but another part of me says that the gunplay is clunky and the game seems to lack drive. Although, the experience of frenzying the Fire Ant Queen and then killing her with a COMBAT KNIFE while she was distracted by a robot is something I don't think ANY game will EVER let me repeat.
I played Fallout 3 a few years ago so I don't quite remember the details but the combat system that freezes the action before you are attacked and allows you to choose how many rounds, at whom and from what weapon you want to fire made me like the game a great deal. The combat cutscenes were rather monotonous though. You are aware that New Vegas is a different game than Fallout 3?
Yes, I'm very well aware of that, I'm just saying that I'm guessing they're pretty similar (Please correct me if I'm wrong.), so I'm using my experiences from one to gauge what my reaction would likely be to the other. I'll admit, watching the VATS at work was kind of cool, at least at first. However, when your AP are recharging, you have to shoot normally. The execution of this is what I take issue with.

They are very very different. The default color for Fallout 3 is green whereas the one for New Vegas is orange. Other than that NV is superficially the same as Fallout 3 (correct me if I'm wrong on this one).
