I dont know if anyone has confirmed Phoenixes or if they're protheans, but I sure hope so, so that I can say I called it.

;)

Speaking of calling it, Byne, are you gonna make a "We called it!" thread if IT is ever confirmed? It'll be like a party thread.

Nah, I dont feel like rubbing it in anyone's face, and thats what such a thread feels like to me.

Hm.... True... wouldn't be very nice. Maybe a sig? Nah same difference huh. Oh well, that's if it's even true and if it is we'll know we called it and that'll be enough.

I believe accepting victory with grace will be the best tactic... otherwise...

My attitude regarding rubbing things in people's faces is quoted in BleedingUranium's signature:

"The only person whose face I shall rub it in is the face of my friend who told me not to start a thread asking if it was a hallucination, claiming 'No one will even respond to your stupid thread.' He totally has it coming. Totally." - Byne

'Tis still my stance.

I don't know if I'd want him to be happy, I kind of like him being both moody and stoic. Having said that; the scene when he trolls Vega is priceless.

I don't want him happy. I don't want him sad. I want him dead. His disgusts me, and if the rest of the Protheans think like they do, I'm sending the Reapers a thank you card.

Well, I want to rub it in one particular person's face. Actually I wanted to give them something a little more personal, but the army said "Jesus, son! We don't sell those to allies countries, let alone civilians!" Then they put me on some kind of list. Bunch of stick in the muds. I promised not to use it near a populated area, what more do they want out of me?!

Your hatred for Javik disturbs me. You cant really blame him for his attitude. He grew up hundreds of years into the war with the Reapers. Of course they would have begun doing things that seem horrible these days.

Plus, all of his good memories are locked away in that shard of his. He's a jerk because literally all he knows is war.

He was to be the leader of their civilization when it awoke, I'm quite sure he's well educated on the Protheans' history.  Especially given that a) they believe the past repeats itself, B) they could instill more with a quick touch than we could with decades of schooling.  And he doesn't have total amnesia, he knows enough about his civilization to tell us about it at as reasonable a length as we can expect from a video game.  Including what it was life pre-Reapers.  I guarantee he didn't read that stuff in a book, I'm sure he has experiences from people that were born long before him.  In fact, the shard only seems to hide traumatizing stuff.  He's better for the shard, not worse.

Well, the Protheans are imperialistic conquerors, but you are correct, Javik only ever knew war with the reapers, I think he states he was born decades after the reapers began their invasion, I like his character, and the fact he wakes up Liara from her childish fantasies about Protheans, what a wake up call though to learn your goddesses were in fact Prothean's, I always enjoy taking Javik to Thessia.

You cant blame Javik for the Protheans' history though. He may have understood it and embraced it, but he grew up in it. He doesnt have an outsider's perspective of it.

The Protheans seem a whole lot like the Qunari to me, and I somewhat liked the Qunari, except their treatment of mages of course.

I suspect you completely hate them entirely because of that though.

Byne, you said that Chris locked down the previous thread because it became too long? He locked it on page 2286. Might it have any significance?

LOL. I just searched for "Indoctrination Theory" and the UNIT thread is first in the results. This one is second. :P

The darkspawn are better than the cancer known as the qun.  Thedas would be a better place if Par Vollen went like Krakatoa.

Decided for another play-through. It's weird how many details you find after having 2000+ pages of this thread (plus original one) in your head.

- "turbine" like object that people were reporting during "beam" scene can be also seen in the intro mission (next to the 2 gunship pilots, just go the right)

- "mirrored" text. I thought it can be found only during London and Catalyst mission (famous 1M1)
But I already spotted 2 examples in Mars mission.

- Citadel. Volus is talking with (Asari if I remember right) and he's basically saying that Sanctuary is a hoax :-p

I was looking for giant face of the Child on the surface of the Mars, but no luck so far ;)

EDIT: formatting

I dont know if I'd say it had any significance or if it was just a coincidence really.

Also, did you name your thread UNIT purely so that same troll can come in and get it locked too, by claiming that his UNIT is what he's always called his junk?

Sounds like you have more in common with the Chantry than you'd care to admit, Rifneno

Anyway, the number 2286 looks suspicious.

I didn't consider that but there is a possibility of such a catastrophic event. Let's hope he won't find the UNIT thread.

Sounds like you weren't paying enough attention to DA's story and lore.  The qunari are planning a mass invasion.  Again.  Sten very strongly implies that in O, and Osama bin Arishok also implies it in 2.  He says some other interesting things too.  If Hawke asks him if he came seeking to convert, he uses an interesting word in his reply.  "We did not come equipped to indoctrinate."  Think that's taken out of context?  Read more codexes then and find stories of how the qunari use some mind numbing or controlling agent on their--let's be frank here-- slaves.  The ones who refused their "offer" of joining their totalitarian nightmare.  The ones who, many times, are worked literally until they drop dead of exhaustion.  Or disagreeable prisoners who are taken off and either never come back or come back a completely different person.

The qunari should be wiped out to a man.  To quote Samara, they are a disease to be purged, nothing more.  And do note that I said qunari, not kossith.  I don't care if it's got horns or what shape its ears are, I care whether it follows the qun.  And if it does, it needs to die.

As any religion the Chantry is based on things that sound nice on paper and have followers who take the good things of it and make them their own (Leliana) but mostly it's abused.
Same goes for the Qunari, Protheans, and Cerberus.

Well, I admit its been a while since I've played DAO or DA2. I still think you're a bit too harsh on the qunari though.

So, do you ever let Sten join your party in DAO?

Yes, precisely 100 years after the beginning of ME3.

Which would be about the end of this cycle as the Reapers are done reaping :o

That's an interesting hypothesis. For the setting of ME4. And a convenient excuse to get rid of Shepard from the games. In ME timeframe humans live up to 150 if they are lucky. So Shepard would be about 130 and retired.

We'll see who was too harsh and who was too soft in a couple of DA's when we're dealing with a qunari invasion.  As for Sten, I took him once just to see how it plays out.  And I'm glad I did, because I can say I show the qunari exactly as much compassion as Sten did to Connor and exactly as much respect to other cultures as he gave at Andraste's ashes.  For the most part though, I leave him to his fate in that cage.  Seems fitting considering what he did to that family, children and all, who tried to help him.  And that has nothing to do with being qunari.

It's like Grunt.

Javik "knows" about his people, can recite facts and histories and such, but he doesn't "know" about his people, he feels no emotional connections to them, no reason to care, it's too long ago, he feels seperate, detached, unemotional, stoic.

Hence why the shard makes him want to commit suicide, it brings back all of the good things in his life, but also all of the pain. He emotionally seperated himself so that he wouldn't go insane with grief.

Also, Rifneno, if this is the case, never play Warhammer 40k. Everyone is an **** there because literally all human culture is geared toward worship and war.
