Salient Archer,
Sure, I'll check it out tomorrow (later today after I sleep). I intend to make a good faith effort to understand the IT from the ITist's point of view even while acknowledging what my current problems with IT are. It is easy to paint a group of people with one brush when you are looking in from the outside. That is part of why I am posting here.

Honestly it's really appreciated, not just that you're trying to understand ITist's but just the way you've been conducting yourself with respect, it's incredibly refreshing.

haha, well there is that. By the way I just read that you're having Laptop issues, that both sucks and blows... will thi lead to an Arian blackout for a little while?

No at the moment it only sucks, blowing is exactly the thing it's NOT doing.

The fan on my laptop has died. I could continue on, buisness as normal, if I felt like melting my motherboard. Since Hewlett-Packard made the thing (custom job, which might explain a few things) and they suck for not conforming to my desired level of convenience by NOT having a branch in Anchorage, I have to mail it to a service station.

In Seattle.

From Anchorage.

At least they're footing the bill, since it's still got a year of warranty to go. Might even fix the case cowling, in which case she would be better than new.

As a consequence, I had to drag my old clunker, a seven year old desktop I upgraded multiple times (even swapped out the power supply at one point to put in a bigger graphics card, this was back when Dragon Age was new you see.) out of the closet and set her up. So no, I'm still here until Saturday, at which point I leave for Portland to attend my brother's wedding for the week, I can and will try to pop in occasionally, since I have a few chances to borrow someone's computer, but it will be less regular than it is now for the week. After that chutzpah is done, I should be back home, pick up my refurbished laptop, which should, if they do their job properly, only be different in that the fan is new, and maybe there aren't any more cracks in the casement, and set up shop as normal again. Meaning I hope NOT to have to make use of the backup files I made, since while most of the important stuff, like my novel and notes are backed up, it would be highly inconvenient, not to say incredibly annoying and a bit upsetting to have to set up everything all over again, and meaning that I will be back before the EC annoucement comes and San Diego Comic Con starts. (since that doesn't start until the second week of July.)

So if anything, I'll be fading more into the background for the week, but I highly doubt a complete blackout.

Very well done video, kudos, especially the change in weapon sound, from that we can hear the carnifex is already morphing into a predator, it got me thinking about the point where Shepard breaks free of the indoctrination attempt, and that point is the moment the weapon changes sound in my opinion.

Just feel secure in the thought that you're not the Jonas Quinn of the ITD. However I can't help feel that I'm the Cameron Mitchell ... I came in late, tried to fit in with the established team but most of the time I'm just caught in my boxer shorts.

Well, then I'm the Dale Volker (SGU) of IT. I kinda have a basic understanding, can discuss a few basic concepts, but lack the brilliance of the main players of this theory. I'm just along for the ride and hope to be of some usefulness.

I kinda liked Jonas, after I got over Daniel. Though I fit Daniel more in temperament, vocation and personality. In your case you're Oma. Occasionally pop in with something profound and then zip off to contemplate enlightenment.Posted Image

Oh and I did figure out what Oma's koan means.

"If you immediately know the candlelight is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago."

If you can immediately recognize that the candle light is the same thing as a fire, someone learned it before you did, and taught it to you.

I wish I was as enlightened as Desala; It's only a semblence at best. As for seeking enlightenment: If you mean playing copious amounts of Arkham City's ranked Challenge Maps just to top my friend boards, than yes, I am very enlightened. ;)

I often find myself thinking about Oma's koan; mostly because when I was kid it confused the hell out of me and as an adult I always find new meanings in it. It's interesting that we both came to similar understandings of it though.

To be hones wish I could be playing skyrim, my old clunker here can run it. On the lowest settings. With a bit of jerking.

Yeah.
