Salient Archer,
Sure, I'll check it out tomorrow (later today after I sleep). I intend to make a good faith effort to understand the IT from the ITist's point of view even while acknowledging what my current problems with IT are. It is easy to paint a group of people with one brush when you are looking in from the outside. That is part of why I am posting here.

LOL. Really?Arian Dynas wrote...
No, Brave New World was at the bottom of Mac and Casey's notes.
Well, lucky you then.Arian Dynas wrote...
Semester doesn't start again till the autumn, I have no job currently, I've been single for the past year, and try to interact with my friends, but lately, I've seen more of you guys than them, since they need to hold down jobs if they want pocketmoney.
I live off pell grants and scholarships I earned.
But if you mean this series specifically, well I watched it years ago, and have an excellent memory.

Why not? You have a beautiful view on the countryside outside the window with all the wild animals and dream foliage (pun).Rosewind wrote...

Seems I'm average around here. My social life since completing ME3 is for the most part this thread.MaximizedAction wrote...

Like Arian, I've watched them years ago. I don't watch any series right now, besides Dexter and Californication, both of which have no new seasons right now.
And movies are way to long for me to watch in one piece. So, uni, work, social lifethis thread and a bit of ME3 MP before sleep. Otherwise no time left.
Well, obviously I'm a hypocrite, since I could just as well spare BSN and ME3 but...you guys know what I mean.

I too watched them growing up and also when my wife (yes wife) bought me the box set several years ago... Besides, due to my current predicament I've gained more free-time than I'm used to; hence the forum ... if it wasn't for circumstance I'd be up flying F/A-18 super hornets right now.

I was RAAF but one day I got attached to a beautiful woman, married her, started a lovely little family and became a school teacher instead.

Oddly enough video games are the #1 pass-time in the Australian defense force. That aside, I think if we actually knew the kinds of backgrounds that each of us had we'd be really impressed by how diverse we are as a collective group. I find most intellectual and analytical people are attracted to pursuits outside the drudgery of common existence and despite our geological, socio and cultural diversity our pursuit for truth, knowledge and wisdom is a universal constant despite it’s rarity. I don't see ITD or Mass Effect as parts of a video game culture; I see them as a puzzle waiting to be explored and solved; despite the medium it was presented in.MaximizedAction wrote...

Always nice to be reminded that we are not a homogenious 2D sprite of just 'fans', but people with different backgrounds and different lives. And yet, here we are, talking about something we all enjoy a lot.
Sadly, same cannot be said about the people I'm around in 'real' life.
Nah. The last series I watched all episodes was ST: TNG.Earthborn_Shepard wrote...
Since we've been talking about tv series, who else here watches Game of Thrones?

Being a school teacher doesn't have to be less dangerous...What do you teach?

I'm a music teacher so it's probably twice as dangerous; but I love it! ... as for flying, I never was able to get my hands on one of the new Super Hornets as they were introduced after my time, I did fly FA-18A's however but never did do anything exciting and hence I never had to fire a missle at a live target. I did get to do border patrol neer a naval base in melbourne called CERBERUS though! Dun-dun-dun.....
