You are right, it goes back as far as that quote from consort in ME1, but is repeated numerous times throughout the trilogy with varying levels of subtlety. Granted, many of them were optional dialog that you would only hear by going somewhat out of your way (for example, you never even have to speak to Eve even once while she is on the Normandy), but then again, I think Bioware intended only for completionists to be able to see through the indoctrination attempt and defeat it. 

It's things like this which span the length of the trilogy that make me believe this ending was planned from the start.

We all sigh and say 'Oh well', and hope the ending can explain the countless plot holes without it. I will also be very dissapointed... it means all the foreshadowing and evidence was nothing more than coincidences...which... makes no sense. So, if the IT isn't true, I will have numerous questions. Which they promised us would not happen.

I will also walk away from Bioware.

Well, if whatever they give us is as cool as IT, I will be more than satisfied. If they give us something lame, and I seriously doubt they will, I will be disappointed for a while and then move on. Participating in this thread has been rewarding, regardless of how the ending pans out.

When I figured out what was happening, one of the things that bothered me about early IT research was that it concentrated too much on the ending. So much evidence; even if it is not straight up 'proof' like so many want to be silver spoon fed, it's there 'buried in the dialog'. ME2's focus was different, but I bet we could even find some evidence of Shep being told or otherwise warned 'you actions are all that will matter.' - 'you will be remembered for what you have done.' etc.

I think Mordin may touch on this. I've been wanting to play through ME1 and 2 again, so I guess I'll capture things that are thematically obvious in the light of the impending Indoctrination attempt.

I do agree that we are headed for some awesome though. It's hard to think anticipation for ME3 could be rivaled, but after the extended cut, depending on what happens ME4 anticipation could shatter boundaries.

First we have to deal with EA and then we need some good damm lawyers. Also we need about 1 billion dollars to but out Bioware, and well we'll make it up as we go.
