Ok back on topic.

Has the "leak" about EC been discussed yet?

At this point I think any leaks should be treated with suspicion, I know I keep harping on about it, but I'm thinking the leaks that have happened so far in regard to ME3 are a red herring, deliberately released to keep the players off balance regarding the plot.

Exactly. I iterated those sentiments during a discussion in the control support thread just a short while ago:

I understand and respect your position. Part of my personal belief, though is that Bioware is just as inclined to indoctrinate the player as they are Shepard. In that context, the way they handled his indoctrination in both the game and the story makes logical sense. The way you suggest it, however, would preclude the possibility of allowing the player to be immersed in the indoctrination process from a first-person perspective.

I agree, but we suspected this already, same as evidence hinting toward IT in that they don't deny it. That's why I'm thinking we should look back further, before the PR department got heavily involved. Before the storm.
Also because it's kind of the only place left to look.

The problem with that is Bioware literally had nothing to hide prior to "the storm". So there probably is nothing to be found prior to the initial script leak.

They are not going to spoil EC, just as they didn't tell us how the ending was before ME3 was launched. No news are good news.

Oh yea...

was the ending planned 5 years ago?

Read that, down the bottom about Klencory.

I've heard more than this one article though..

Well, I only remember interviews shortly before release, i.e. this year, a few on February. But those cover statements that we already know, like the one from Casey saying how BW wants to make the player feel what Shepard feels, instead of just reacting to Shepard's emotions.
The others are Mike Gamble's "You should hold on to your saves, but I can't say more".

If anyone knows more, post it!

Oh, and I enjoyed myself analysing Casey's reaction on that more than is considered sane. But one can hope...

The one about the saves is very interesting. If ME3 is the END... why we should hold on to our saves?

Thank you, the Mike Gamble one was after release so is subject to the Red Herring tactic DJBare pointed out. Even some pre-release can be red-herring I suppose, everything is subjective kind of thing. But it's worth a shot at looking through it.

You mean that tweet? Yeah, but it could just mean that the cutscenes are contextual for different playthroughs.

Still, that tweet is from few days after launch. Way before EC was officially announced.

What do you think guys, will Bioware announce a release for the extended cut at all or just drop it completely by surprise? If it is (hopefully) IT then it doesn't make any sense to possibly drop hints and ruin the surprise just prior to the big shock (for some) by announcing anything in advance

Yeah, but they also never made it a secret that there will be DLC. Nearly every interview in 2011 mentioned that BW absolutely planned DLC. So if someone happenes to mention saves, then the natural asociation with that is: DLC. The saves are for DLC.

But on a second thought one should remember how ME2 also had DLC and you could start it from an early point in the main campain, so saves don't seem so important for DLC to work. Add to that Jesse Houston's statement, how the DLC "will make a great sense". Why, what was wrong with the DLC in ME2?

Also, prior to the release most players didn't know about the EMS system and how it determines your end choices. They also get saved in the infamous LegendSave.

So, as with many of BW one-lineres regarding saves, DLC, holding on to copies, one may wonder: Why is all of that so special all of a sudden?

It all seems like cheap PR...until you reread them with IT in mind.

@Lord Luc1fer: EC will be announced, IMO. They won't say anything about it until it's been released though, they are not going to spoil anything.

@MaximizedAction: Everything's weird. Could be bad PR, could be IT and a great twist. Bad writting vs Genius writting. Oh well... We'll have to wait. :(

Then maybe there is a chance for some post-ending DLC with gameplay.

Also, when announcing the EC, BioWare stated that they had to REPRIORITIZE their work. It could mean they moved the EC to a higher position on their to-do list. Or that they've added a new item and had to make place for it on the list.

The fact that so many of the pre-release statements from BW are drastically at odds with the game we ostensibly received makes me suspect that they're up to something sneaky, not.that they are lying to make money. Perhaps that is just me being naive, but the whole thing just sets off my Spidey senses.

I guess that's the reason we are all here! It's not just some fan fiction... It's something big. Very big. There is a pattern buried in the data. There are evidences ingame, outside the game, everywhere!

Yeah, there is that tweet.
But I was refering to an interview Mike Gamble gave early February to the German game magazine GameStar. He said that players would be well advised to hold on to their savegames of the ending of ME3.
The interviewer asked him again and he said, that it wouldn't be a bad idea, he of course couldn't say more but it definitely wouldn't be a bad idea.

This is a translation of the original interview in  www.gamestar.de/spiele/mass-effect-3/news/mass_effect_3,45851,2564415.html, for those of you that understand German.

EDIT: The headline of the article says "the players should better keep their last savegame."

I specifically remember Patrick's tweet on the EC NOT being a response to the ending reaction, but rather something planned as they've always had "big plans" for the game. Interestingly, this tweet was subsequently removed.

You mean this tweet? http://www.gamefaqs....95452-/62374587

Coupled also with the other tweet where they said the ending was 'as we intended'. So, basically they admitted that the endings were supposed to be dreamy and confusing. If that tweet is true, its pretty damning evidence.

Both seem very revealing.

Seems they spilled some beans there, and so it would make sense why they were deleted.

Now? And then have to wait for another DLC to give closure to a rushed DLC? XD
