I specifically remember Patrick's tweet on the EC NOT being a response to the ending reaction, but rather something planned as they've always had "big plans" for the game. Interestingly, this tweet was subsequently removed.

Coupled also with the other tweet where they said the ending was 'as we intended'. So, basically they admitted that the endings were supposed to be dreamy and confusing. If that tweet is true, its pretty damning evidence.

Both seem very revealing.

Seems they spilled some beans there, and so it would make sense why they were deleted.

2:04.. He talk about how everything in the level designs are hand-crafted. And how they spend hours doing it. Could it be then that those sprites we see at the ending weren't originally meant to be there? And were put in at the last minute, because the absense of bodies might tend towards a dream-like scenario. Which they'd want to avoid making blatantly obvious.

4:07 this whole section seems shady to me, he was asked about DLC and somehow started talking about the ending, that alone is suspicious. But then he continues saying that "the way we're structuring the story is a bit different, so it will make sense where the dlc plugs in to where it does."
If that doesn't scream indoctrination theory I dunno what does, because clarification and closure to the face-value endings we have now wont make for much of a different story structure. That's what I believe he's signalling when he uses that hand gesture, a twist to the plot.

Even though there may be in-game and out of game evidence to the 'Post-Ending' DLC - the EC itself may be, as some few of us have said, a delay tactic to quell the heat, alter perceptions, return a glimmer of hope, and give BW the time to get it done.

It also may be possible that some of the 'shift in focus' was either to move SP DLC around (which I personally doubt) or to move some of the MP DLC around for the 'Post Ending' because of possible tie ins. Now this is total speculation but we won't know exactly what happened until after all DLCs are out and we can see the release time line for ourselves. At that point we could speculate on what was shifted, but unless details are released, we'd never know for sure.

Another aspect of the prioritization could be the fan feedback - the sheer mass amounts of suggestions that flooded BSN may have been unprecedented. Filtering through all that data and drafting up statistics for possible content viability takes time. I really do think they were 'listening'. I think the end game plan was always to take some feedback into consideration; to be added to the end in some way or another, even if it were only to show up in the epilog. But I don't think BW expected the volume. Of course there is a chance some of the more popular things, like a more fleshed out pre (doubtful) or post war ME2 squaddie adventure, more in depth attention to those who were skimped on... If the demand count is high enough and BWs number crunchers see the $$$, a 'whole bunch of em (DLCs that is)', as Jack would say... could push the replayability of ME3 (not to mention the whole series) right up to the release date of ME4. The money generated from MP will keep the Dev coffers full, and SP may benefit from this in ways we can't yet grasp.

BRAV-****ing-O!! That comment perfectly encapsulates thoughts I have been struggling to express for months. Control, synthesis and the whole decision scenario have implications that run completely counter to the major themes of the series. The literal ending is a thematic reversal of epic proportions. That is one of the biggest reasons I think IT is true.
