If we end up being wrong, then I can't imagine that Bioware had something planned, because what else but some iteration of IT could make the ending even remotely acceptable? What could they use to salvage things?
I think ITers and literalists alike would be disappointed/infuriated

I can't think of a better scene than Shepard in a hospital. Just like Kaidan/Ash. With his LI talking about how they destroyed the reapers and their future together. And his friends coming to say hi :P

Well, Star-Brat told Shepard that the relays would be destroyed, so he's hallucinating that they are.  As for the Normandy Crash, it's probably Shepard hallucinating that his crew are safe and sound somewhere, with hope for the future (Unless you have low EMS, at which point I'm guessing that Shepard just think's they're screwed.).  As for the Buzz Aldrin, one of our guys had a theory that it could be a coded message to the players (Was that you, Hellish?).

Yeah, that was me. Here it is if anyone wants to see it.

That certainly is a fascinating take ... I'll just remain hopeful, heh. It's hard to let go of skepticism, but man do I hope you guys are right

You bet She can be trusted She said that the Red ending will let Shepard be with his crew again, but at a prise depending our chocies we made along the way.

Did she specifically say crew? Because crew to me means the entire Normandy, not just your squadmates.. Which, if that's the case, means the Joker/Normandy scene is actually a dream.

yea exactly, If you do the endings with crappy EMS, no one comes out of the Normandy, the door opens, then it goes black. Could be Shepard's imagination saying "all hope is lost"

It's funny you should mention that because that sounds like exactly what was happening....

I don't mind if some other characters die (including Shep), but I don't want to be forced into a deeply unhappy ending. I want my choices to determine whether or not Shep and her LI survive and what kind of sacrifices are required to end the war. That way, I can have a dark and unhappy ending, a bittersweet ending or an ending that has at least some joy and hope. I want to be in control of which ending I get. If the decisions that determine this happen in previous games, that's great. But outrageously stupid choices leading only to deeply unsatisfying endings...yeah i am not too into that.

This would be good for a final ending with nothing afterwards. I'd prefer "the Reapers are coming" type of ending.

I didn't think there was anything coded about it. I took it as - 'but wait, these's more!'

I saw it on my second playthrough and didn't really take offence to the DLC part. I did mutter to myself that it better be free and wrap this **** up properly though.

RE: Stargazer

I have my suspicions of what is going on story wise but the only thing we can really do is wait it out. There is too much 'story continues' evidence to discount indoctrination and people seem so willing to 'give up' without thought because the ending won't be changed. It does not need to be changes nor would it changed if indoctrination is what happened. I don't get why people can't see that. It means one of two things game wise; it will be revealed in a post ending DLC (not an ending DLC or alternate or blah blah, but an expansion... or in ME4. Mike would not comment on keeping saves and 'his' copy of ME3 forever 'if we knew what was coming.' if nothing was actually in the pipeline.

I think they had a pretty cool gotcha planned, it's just unfortunate that the execution was a little flawed. They underestimated fan reaction to lack of closure and should have tested the ending on a core fan panel. It should have been revealed at the end that Shep was indoctrinated or that the attempt was made. It should have been more obvious in the game, as evidently most of us missed the obvious during our first playthrough.

Had indoctrination been revealed at the end the fan reaction would have been the opposite and people would have been begging for the expansion DLC/ME4 and would have been full of the one thing BioWare ripped from their grasp... hope. Far fewer would be pissed that the trilogy was being expanded than those who hate the open ended and obscure 'nonsensical' ending.

I have not given up on BW. I just hope the hate does not cause them to second guess their original plans.

Just my thoughts at the time. I see thing clearer and a little differently now, but as far as the Stargazer goes. One More Story.

I've said before that I personally consider that to be one of the biggest clues for IT. Top 5 for sure. I dont know why so little is made out of it.

The only counter-arguement is that people have assumed it was a glitch that was meant to be sent to you while Shepard was in lockup at the start. However, why would the VS send you a message like that when they clearly don't trust you because of your ties to Cerberus?

I'm just jealous she got to pose in Shepard's armor with a toy Carnifex... So F****ING JEALOUS!!!
