Hellish you used to be such a nice guy on this thread you seem to have hardened in your responses as of late.

How so? Earlier I one of the only people here to warmly welcome 2 new posters to the thread. Plus, there is only one person employing sarcasm or caps on this page and its not me. So I dont see how I'm being "hard" on anybody. How would you suggest I get my points across in a more polite fashion without failing to state my opinion?

Hellish, I'm not trying to be an ass any more than you are, yet some of your posts come across that way. It's the same thing with me.

Peace? Posted Image

Granted for some reason you have a second opinion to back you up, but honestly I dont see how my posts are being construed as me being an ass or as being "hard". Maybe I should use more smilies? Is it my verbage?

I dont use caps or sarcasm to make points unless I'm being jovial about something and not directing it at anybody in particular, so how am I an ass? I seriously dont get it. Is this because I got upset about the thread invasion yesterday? That was an extenuating circumstance....

No I think it's more your method of phrasing things, your posts (mine as well) have a certain tone that, if read the wrong (or right, depending on your interpretation) way makes you sound harsher than you intend.

This is pretty much it. However, I feel Arian's come off with a bit more sauce to make it funny hellish's are more like I'm better than you listen to what I say.

Well, thank you for the honest observation. I'll keep an eye out for that on my posts if you do the same on yours. My opinion on yours is that *sigh*ing, employing sarcasm, or the use of caps, or prefaces like "dude...", are very poor ways to impress a point upon somebody... :?

Smileys added to reduce harshness.

But yeah, peace.

But dude, I like totally talk like this. It's like radical. Posted Image

Nah I kid, but yeah, it is my own personal unpleasant brand of charm coming through.

And you guys wonder why I don't imagine myself to be the nicest person, or paticuarly worthy of your praise.

It's part of who I am, you shouldn't deny yours either. We're all buddies here, and buddies can take a bit of rough edges.

I think the way you write for some reason is coming off condescending to me. I remember when I first came to the thread I really enjoyed your posts and when I started posting it was good dialogue with you. It seems like you're less tolerant of other people's ideas now. Before it would be an even discussion but now it's "It's my way or the highway so we'll agree to disagree." Whenever I read Arian's posts it seems like humor to me but then I read yours  I'm saying to myself what happened to hellish. My suggestion would be to read a post before you submit it and try to picture what someone who doesn't know you might think, because it seems like something about your posts has changed recently.

Honestly I've been focusing more on objectivity lately than tone, so that's probably why I've been coming off that way. I just want people to know that I'm not being "religious" or fanatical with the rationalizations behind my conclusions. I also want people to know that I'm ok with them having a different opinion than mine, and that I'm not trying to impress my opinion upon them, hence my liberal use of the "agree to disagree" method of disengaging. I hadnt noticed the tone of my posts had changed so drastically in other people's eyes. Thanks for letting me know, and as I said to Arian, I will keep an eye on it.

Never watched "Men in Tights" so idk.

Though I do look alot like Alan Rickman as the Sheriff in the Kevin Costner one. Though my beard isn't nearly so magnificent.

In other words, don't worry about objectivity.

Actually... looking it up, minus the Riker beard (I am insanely jealous) looks, voice (a scoche deeper and minus the silly trill) and attitude... that's about disturbingly spot on.

If it helps I don't think you come across as an arse, Hellish. Maybe blunt and direct at times, but nothing that bothers me.

And that Infrasonic sound discover. Oh ma gawd. That's pretty damning stuff. Is it only in those scenes, or in others?

Got a question, if you don't mind. I'm sure someone asked it before, but I'm not going to read... 783 pages to look for one question.

So, the prothean VI on Thessia talk to Shepard. Then exactly when Kai Leng approches the VI goes to hide because Leng was indoc. If that's true, then why didn't the VI closed itself if Shepard was indoc?

I read that the VI could have talked about Shepard and not Leng, but that doesn't make sense. Why didn't the VI immidietly detected the indoctrination? It happened exactly when Leng showed up?

Yeah, direct and objective is what I've been going for lately, and I'm glad that not everyone has taken offense to it. Everyone's opinion matters to me though (heck thats why I started trying to be more objective in the first place), so if I'm coming off as offensive to anybody then I need to change it. That isnt how I want my role to be remembered in all this.

On the Infrasonic subject, heck yeah, if you couldnt tell, that got me super excited. :o

So far we've found it in every place we've suspected it:

Coates
Harbinger/beam run
Dream sequence sounds
Normandy (audio evidence only, no pictures yet)

I think we'll wind up finding it in more places, and hopefully be able to put together something compelling for the community at large.

I've been considering changing the avatar. I mainly changed it because I wanted it to be something unique that stands out, and because I like the Batarian characters in MP. The only reason I havent changed it yet is because I figure people identify me by it at this point. But maybe it's time to change it after all.

Shepard isn't indoctrinated. Shepard is in the "process" of being indoctrinated. Shepard doesn't actually become indoctrinated until Shep gives in to the reapers. Kai Leng has Reapertech and is already indoctrinated. It was Kai Leng that the VI was protesting about.

It's not really that we take offense to it, in as much as it's "You seem harsh, uncaring and emotionless, focused with keeping things serious." basically acting the fuddy-duddy. If that makes sense. Posted Image
