Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark II!

Unofficial interview is Unofficial. Has Patrick ever admitted to making that interview? i believe he has but i am not too sure. but like it says, it is paraphrased. So even if it did happen at all, nothing in it is trustworthy and highly suspect to the interviewers bias.
Ending message. I always that Gaff’s last line was one of the hints that Deckard was a replicant. but anyway, the only real way i can think of to counter this is the breath scene. That’s the closest thing to our smoking gun, our spinning top, our man disappearing into the desert. (have not seen that movie)
EMS has been discussed to death. And it seems like everyone forgets that if you keep the Collector base you can only choose control. I like how it was theorised that EMS was actually a representation of Shepard’s inner will or determination or what have you. I like to think of it as the players determination to do everything possible to beat the reapers. but if you ran through it and did zero side quests, bare minimum play through, renegade shep is already at the point of controlling everyone anyway, and paragon shep is too focused on the final goal of destroying the reapers to do anything else. only the shep who takes his time to prepare fully for the final battle can see all sides. though this may have gone off on a tangent. im having a little trouble putting what i’m thinking down into words.

So the question becomes "Can Shepard overcome the Reaper's greatest weapon long enough to defeat them?"
I really don't understand people who think it's unlikely that the Reapers would ever use their greatest weapon against arguably their greatest foe.
I mean come on. We've been smacked over the head with it for two games and it's obviously something organics have little defense against. Why wouldn't they use it against Shepard? Shepard has no defense other than remarkable willpower.
It's like if The US had decided to do the ground war with Japan instead of using their nukes that they'd already built. Why WOULDN'T you use your greatest weapon and go for the jugular? It's just logical and elementary.
Shepard clearly has PTSD and is talking to God and is being controlled by the Illusive Man's new biotic abilities...
All of these elements were thrown into a story where the main character is fighting a vast army of brainwashers...
Random Reaper: ARE YOU SURE WE SHOULDN'T JUST TRY TO INDOCTRINATE SHEPARD, HARBINGER?
Harbinger: NO. SHEPARD IS MY ONE TRUE LOVE. INDOCTRINATING HIM WOULD CHANGE HIM TOO MUCH. IT JUST WOULDN'T BE THE SAME. I WOULDN'T EVEN BE ABLE TO STALK HIM LIKE A CREEP ANYMORE.

"How the hell does Shepard resist indoctrination? How is he immune?"
Even if IT is wrong. The fact that shepard is immune to indoctrination for no apparent reason is a massive flaw in the narrative.
I think that BW tried to set the stage for Shepard's high resistance to indoctrination with scenes like the one where Liara remarks how strong willed you must be, and how the consort talks about your unique strengths as an individual. Aside from that, I think its also an issue of Shepard not having any easily-corruptible morals the way that other people do in the story.
If I helped write the first game, I would have said that the reason why Shepard resists indoctrination is because the Prothean Beacon and it's vision of destruction left a permanent effect on Shepard's view of the Reapers as his enemy.

If I remember correctly, he said that he wasnt happy with the way he was paraphrased, but that the interview did happen. I saw that info secondhand though, so I'm not sure how accurate it is....

That could be part of it, actually. I dont think we have a reason to think that it isnt a factor, other than the fact that they dont come out and say it.

I remember him saying some of it wasn't true, part of the not happy about paraphrasing part.

I simply dont think Shepard has enough proximity to any kind of Indoctrination source in ME1 for it to take any effect.
The only contact he had was Sovereign in the distance (on both occasions you see him in game), the Virmire facility, Husks and Saren by the end. Nothing compared to ME2.
And by ME2 it can be argued the Reapers are going for the slow, patient Indoctrination and not a fast one.

Here is a quote I read on another thread. I'm sure number 4 is debatable, but honestly the fact that Weekes and Gamble do talk about the ending in a literal sense makes me doubt the IT entirely.
*snip because its posted right above here*
Most of those are fairly easy to interpret in either context, really. And even when they "defend" the endings we see as the wrong choices, that could just be part of the deception. Personally I even think some of that supports IT more than it contradicts it. Plus, this is, to my knowledge, the first fully immersive first person metagame ending, if IT turns out to be true. So there is no precedent for how it should be handled from a PR perspective. Bioware reps have said contradicting things, deleted tweets, carefully worded their press statements and q&a so that they can be taken in both contexts, etc.
Add all that up with the symbolic evidence we've put together, and it's pretty hard to think that IT isnt their intended direction.
In a way, whether IT was planned or not, Bioware did want major speculationz. They want people to interpret the endings differently. They know that there are a lot of IT followers and so they're trying not to ruin anyones interpretation of the ending by outright dismissing them.
But this is really pissing me off. I want to know whether the IT is true or not and move on. What they're doing is wrong whether the IT is true or not. We were promised a satisfying conclusion to Shepard's journey with closure. Not one with major speculations.
Dude, even WE don't know. You're not going to find this out in an afternoon. Either way, stick around. I hear we're a fun lot.

I still remain of the opinion that indoctrination only takes one exposure to start the process, it gives the reapers an in through which to speak to you, like a hole in your own mind, the more exposure you have, the bigger that hole gets, and the faster the process. but once it's started, they can still just worm their way in.
It's like a rip in a piece of fabric, once it's started, it can keep going on it's own, but it'll be faster the more you pull on it.
