I've been playing through the genophage story arc again and just finished my conversation with Eve about how she became a Korgan Shaman and I remembered that when I first played through that scene I really thought that both the crystal she hands you and her quote "Take it as a reminder, commander. In the darkest hour, there is always a way out." were going to relate directly to the end game somehow (as cheesy as that sounds).

Between this, Liara's "gift", the consort from ME1, Shiala's cipher, your contact with the prothean beam etc etc etc, I think this will have something to do with your ability to overcome indoctrination...

Agreed, the more I think about it the more I refuse to believe that all that foreshadowing would just be ignored, why establish any of it in the first place only to not have them play out.

Couldn't sleep, came back on to pester all of you.

Very well done Salient, you should A). proofread it, B). Make a thread for it and see what you get, and C). Send this to Parabolee.

Thanks Arian and sucks that you can't sleep, although I know all to well what that's like.
A). doing that right now actually as I'm fine tuning it for google docs.
B). Hadn't considered that, but I'll give it a go. Besides, whats the worst that'll happen? I doubt trolls will get far enough through it to know how to criticize it and
C). Who is Parabolee?

BTW Turbo, I'm running through
Cronos and recording footage, and I definitely see that circuitboard
pattern you were talking about on the protoreaper. I cant believe I
didnt notice it the other day....

Wonder if its the same pattern we see in the Synthesis ending on Joker's skin?

It is, exactly the same.

That has to mean something. And I think what it means is fairly obvious.

And the skin on of the human Reaper has the same skin, because up until now, it's the only Reaper that is designed after an organic of our cycle. Maybe the Sovereign class Reapers have that too, if we were to come close to one.

Doesn't matter, I find it legit within the concept of Synthesis. It does what it's explained to do:
Take organics and Reapers and *nowkiss.jpg*.

EDIT #45: The reason that Shepard sees it in his 'dream' of the crashlanding, is either that it's Reaper induced or that Shepard has seen it on the Collector base.
Or maybe the scene on Cronos Station is a projection of Shep's mind, too, which is either some form of foreshadowing or again shows that it's Reaper induced.

Yes. It means that Joker is a Reaper doomsday device!

Seriously; just another example of an image pulled from Sheps memory?

Not necessarily, it's also a case of "well we have this circuit texture we've made already..."
The theory doesn't need things like this to stand up.

I think I want to open up the old armory, convert it to a science lab and get Conrad on board to work through the Dark Energy puzzle. We need his PHD expertise and someone on the ship to troll once in a while... or he could always troll us; you know, with game mechanic issues, like Cains that can heat seek or Thanix 'missiles'

Maybe he can put the cooling tech back in the guns.

Most singular things in IT dont mean something significant in and of themselves. They are all part of a larger pattern. This one in particular fits the pattern of Synthesis simply being portrayed as an alternate wording of the Reaper philosophy of "ascendence" that we've been fighting against this whole time.

I'm curious... do you guys think it would be legal to download a copy of the PC version if all I do is poke at the files and never actually try to launch the game?

:whistle::whistle::whistle:

So yeah Hellish, I think IT might be true, hehe...aaalright.

But on a serious note, you have an XBox version but you probably would like to look through the files yourself, huh? Theoretically, this question should be covered by the EULA. Practically, that's one long text to interpretate yourself through. Maybe a mod might answer that. I think it's a legit question.

Do you think it is legal to steal money even if you never actually intend to spend it?

Thats not really a proper analogy, byne.

Yeah, if filesharing were legally so trivial then we wouldn't have any discussions on it, anymore. It's a very grey area. Hence, the EULAs.

Rana: Saren became obsessed with Indoctrination...

Jacob: The Illusive Man became obsessed with Indoctrination...

Jacob: You ever wonder where it all went wrong?

So where did the hallucinations start? huh, huh, anyone?

Look up the codex! What's that sound? Whoa, I thought I saw something. Did you hear that? I feel dizzy.

Shepard (and us as an extension) has become obsessed with indoctrination...

Irony.

I don't think you should. Just let other people do the data mining.

Exactly. When you buy a physical copy of a game, you are buying two things. You're buying the media the game is on and the packaging/materials it comes with, as well as the license to use it. That license legally allows for you to have digital or physical backups of your original copy. It's not a stupid question to ask if the PC version files could possibly be covered by that license as long as I dont actually try to use them to play.

It is indeed irony, because in this case, its the ones becoming obsessed with it that are seeing through it rather than the ones turning a blind eye to it.

Sooo, now everyone can be considered indoctrinated, huh? The witchhunt hasn't even begun, yet.
