@Riot86 Nice, you're really observant! How do you notice these things

Interesting on all the handles. I was hoping we could find something in the game that looked really similar to the control apparatus, since the destroy tube resembles other things in the game.

Now we need something that looks like a giant beam...where could that be?:P

Hmmmm, a real mystery...

I mean really...I think that Earth is the only time you see a giant beam. Also I found in a recent play of ME3 that Anderson comments that he is in London but he says nothing about a giant beam in the horizon. And this was after the Thessia mission I believe. The beam would note worthy don't you think?

I just realized that the similarity between this building in Vancouver...

Posted Image

...and this building in London....

Posted Image

...has actually a connection to the boy!! :o

The building with the burned rooftop on the first picture is the one on which the child was playing with his toy.

That would make it the second instance where a location from Vancouver associated with the boy makes a "comeback" in London.

The other one being this place near the airduct where you talk to the boy.

And here the London-counterpart...

Perhaps they don't set it up until they bring the citadel to earth?

Edit: Oh wait, I think I remember a cut scene where you see them turn the beam on and connect it to the citadel, right before getting to Earth.

Nice catch. Just curious, is this building in the thanix missile area?

In Mass Effect 2 we saw something that was almost identical to the beam in London...on Lattesh during "Project: Firewalker" there was some sort of "Geth Weather Research Station"...it looked like this:

It doesn't even look like reused assets. A lot of these features are very similar but actually have a unique design.

It's not like it's a collapsable tent set that you can just put it up and down easily and quickly anywhere. It's a giant piece of machinery!!! I think it would take a while to build. Anderson does say in one of the messages that the Reapers are gathering in London for something big but Anderson says nothing about what it is, and that was before the Thessia mission I believe.

Okay then why is it that these are the only two times in the game they are used? Sure you are on earth and the buildings could be of a similar building design but the husk in the door is exclusive to those two times. BioWare could of used the husk in the door a multitude of times in the game but they didn't.

It is the same part of the mission as the "Thanix Missle area" at least ...and the building isn't that far away from the missles either.

You just have to go through the store with all those cooking dishes, through the coffee shop, through the alley with the 2 brutes and you're there ;)

Which is why it's interesting, they had to make new things specifically to look like the the vent room and Shep's cabin

Threw this in as an edit above: I think I remember a cut scene where you see them turn the beam on and

The apparatus may have already been there, and if so would indicate they had already planned on bringing the citadel to earth before TIM tattled on us.

Thanks :)

It's REEEEALLY quiet. Any ideas as to what it means? Cause laughter doesn't have anything to do with IT and it didn't sound like the kid. Very strange, still...

Still....you would think Anderson would have seen it and thought it interesting. Maybe the beam is magic like Altair.... :wizard:

And it is not just the Husk in the door in one case or the similarity in the achitecture in the other case...

There a many small things in these two areas in London which are clearly "off"...the reflection of the skyscraper from Vancouver, the airduct near the door with the Husk or the similarities to Shepard's Cabin.

One of these things could be dismissed as being a result of laziness...but all of them?

I think it's a clue that Shepard is suffering some form of Reaper influence while on the Normandy. We're close to producing some evidence that there is infrasonic noise on the ship too, so that lends some credibility to the idea. I'm also in the process of trying to determine if the laughter increases in frequency as you progress through the game.

Normally I would be more willing to write it off as ambient noise, but its too suspcious for that. Its barely noticable, never changes volume, and heck, its laughter instead of chit chat. If its ambient, why laughter? :bandit:

Yeah it's especially suspicious when you're in the lounge, no one is in there, and you hear laughing.

idk if you guys will love or hate this but I just discovered something amazing...ish.
if you play the video Arian linked earlier, the one by Audiomachine and play the Destroy ending scene at the same time the music actually fits well with the scene.  when I put them together and looked at the ending with IT in mind it made the scene feel more epic and victorious.  I know alot of people probably don't want to watch the scene again but just in case you're curious
(I do like the original song from the scene, pretty much the only good part about it.)

EDIT, I forgot to mention that turning the mucis from the scene off as the Audiomachine music goes quieter also helps.

I thought he ment 'increase in regularity', but I could be wrong.

Ah...of course, that makes more sense. Excuse me, I've been spending too much time with frequency spectra :P
