after reading the wiki. the thorian sounds exactlly like an organic reaper. sleeps for thousands of yeas, awekening for a few centuries.  also at least 50 thousand years old. perhaps the protheans were experimenting with making their own reaper.

www.gamespot.com/mass-effect/images/user/atJa5hok7hmV4BvgkQ/ to compare the two. im not really seeing a resemblance.

Oh wow...

Could the thorian be potentially one of the original Reapers before they went into Reaper form? Or maybe one of their off spring? It could also be a failed experiment of the Reapers...

Edit: Oh you guys already said that...:(

That's...actually pretty brilliant.

But the problem still remains that, even with time to properly study the effects, we'd have to deal with the Thorian's "indoctrination." Unless you think the spores and Reaper indoctrination would just cancel each other out? Not sure how that would work and while you make indoctrination itself so easy to understand, I'm not quite sure I follow :?

Low level process

Me.... 0.0000001+0.0000001=0.0000002

You... 0.0000001+0.0000002=0.0000003

Anything you do to the results of those equations is now going to affect high level processes. A vastly different 'conclusion' can be drawn over time because of compounding divergence as higher level processes reference this low level result.

Lets say the conclusion we come to at the end of all this results in...

Me... I like Vanilla Ice cream

You.. I like Vanilla Ice

Not to mention his new position in C-sec gave him more than enough access cause a massive breach. and he is right down the hall from Udina to boot.

semi joking, he even looks like he got some plastic surgery in this game. looks 20 years younger imo.

I will do my best.

I heard some people propose the idea a few months back, I'm not sure where the thread is, but anywho...

You find him up by the door (behind Cerberus lines, as you were fighting them to GET to the door) by some dead C-Sec officers, supposedly injured, but ignored beyond that for some reason. Basically, there's no reason for him to be alive. He also says some things like he's trying to make it clear he was attacked by them. I assume he just shot himself when he saw Shepard coming since he knew Shep would blow through all the Cerberus troops, so he could keep his cover.

The camera pans to his face suspiciously for a brief moment as you're walking through the door (this is 100% pure opinion on my part)

When you finally get to the Counsel, and Cerberus is supposedly about to come through the door, it happens to be Bailey and some other guy. They something along the lines of "we scared them off" which is absurd, considering Kai Leng was there and Bailey was wounded. That never made sense to me.

And now for evidence from ME2: he's been known to take bribes before.
You find this out on Thane's loyalty mission. I don't remember any names, but I just remember he took money from that criminal lord guy in exchange for him turning a blind eye towards him as long as he doesn't get too out of hand.

So I see Bailey as a dirty cop with the best of intentions. I doubt he actually believes in what Cerberus does, but he's doesn't really believe in his current job either. He just takes what he can get. I think his involvement with Cerberus ended when he (maybe) shot himself when Shepard blew in. It would help explain the security breach.

Just speculations. I'm playing the mission now so if I see anything else I'll add it.

That actually makes quite a bit of sense. I always thought the "Kai Leng beat it because he knew we were coming" thing was silly. And his character also seems to be in just the right mindset to be fed up with the complacency and inaction, and be easily swayed into believing Cerberus has legitimate goals. Nice speculations!

I'll admit it's quite possible. But I'm still not sure. To me Bailey seems like a pawn, nothing more. And there were clues during this mission that pointed to another higher-up, forget the rank, who was ignoring security breaches by what were probably Cerberus infiltrators. And not only was Bailey helping us on this missoin, but he also had opportunity to stop Shepard. Btw has anyone read the comic that Bailey is in? I haven't, but read the short summary here masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Armando-Owen_Bailey

Maybe I'm just biased because I like Bailey :P

Thats kinda the point though. Everyone who works for TIM is basically a pawn in one way or another.

semi joking, maybe it's because he colored his gray hair, that can really make a guy look younger :P

On that note, it kinda bothered me that some of the characters looked different in ME3, especially the hair and eyes.

Yeah I noticed that. Did anyone notice that Udina dyed his hair for some reason? Or if that is a side affect of being a complete a**hole. I hated that he betrayed you but he still gets on the council.

You're right. Did you say that he may be helping cerberus without knowing it? I could agree with that.

Edit: I guess I should say BSG spoiler below...
He is a cylon sleeper agent after all!

Lol yes, he was one of the ones that I noticed. All of it is especially noticeable if you JUST beat ME1/2 before starting 3. And everyone looks like they're wearing colored contacts now. Why did they change that? <_<

Worst retcon ever given I burned him out of politics via LoTSB. So much for the smear campaign. I want my credits back.

I think Shepard was just asking for it if he put Udina on the council. He betrayed you once, why wouldn't he do it again?

I did all of those things at the terminal and I dont think any of them had any effect in ME3... Waste of time since I didnt need credits anymore in ME2 at that point...

Reflections. It was pointed out about a week ago that there was an unusual reflection cubemap in the London apartment (the apartment resembles Shepard's cabin from the Normandy). The reflection looks like a medium sized room full of lights. We thought that was the only place that reflection showed up, but it turns out its everywhere. It seems to be the generic reflection put in when there is no specific reflection cubemap made for that surface. Still, it's such a strange looking reflection that I cant help but want to speculate on it.

There is another cube map reflection in the lounge that looks like a city block, complete with what looks like an apartment building across a street to the left. Not sure what to make of the two 'lit' tree shaped things directly ahead. The same map is used on another reflective surface on the wall to the outer hull, but it's sideways.

I really don't think these mean anything.

I hope Mike was serious about the EC being very close to release. I'm done looking for clues and almost finished my last import. I don't have a problem playing my canon from ME1 to 3 again but I'll start to lose interest if the EC is still not ready after that 100 hour do-over.

It really is time.

We're running short on material. That which is new, or overlooked, appears to continue said course.

But yes, Vanilla Ice is WAY off topic. I am actually surprised that the thread hasn't exploded yet...

Any time is a good time for good music though.

Random thought while playing campaign:

I'm pretty sure Bailey was with Cerberus.

I thought that too, but if he really is, he does not know it.

It seemed odd that he got shot and never had a wound or bled. At all. Save Liara firing up her omni-tool when she got to him, it didn't look like he took any medi-gel either.

In fact, not once did shep ever give anyone any medi-gel in this game.

Jacob never bled either.... Conspiracy? :o
