I do hope Hellish's vid opens up more minds. Not for the sake of "converting", but for the sake of, you know, being open minded. It's a good thing, like the heal powers of laughter.

And then Cameltoeus and Seboist will ruin the whole damn thing. Just watch.

I still can't believe Seboist called me trash.  I nearly lost it that day.

Ok there has been something that has always bothered me about the final hours app...I haven't see it my self but I have seen it referenced enought to know what I am saying is true...it is is stated that Bioware decided not to use a game mechanic where Shep loses control (due to indoctrination) b/c it was too difficult to implement along with dialogue...

But isn't this exactly what we get in the TIM confrontation scene?

Well Shep lost control to Harbinger in that instance. maybe they just changed it to TIM.

I've already written them both off, so I really dont care what they have to say about it. In fact, I'm sure that the one 'dislike' the video has received was probably one of them.

If anyone's trash, it's that guy. both of them should be perma-banned.

This should really be on parabolee's summary page, has he been told about this?

as someone already mentioned;
Parabolee has been conspicuously absent after Jessica Merizan "be-friended" him.

waaaait.... are you saying Merizan is Parabolee?

Hey, you never know. With the anonimity of the internet, alot of people may not be who they seem to be..
But no, i wasn't really implying anything. I just thought i would mention it since people were talking about earlier.

Should make a thread for sounds( unless I somehow missed it). I got lucky poking my head in here at the right time. I may not believe in IT, but the vid was an interesting watch.

The various fan vids arguing for or against IT or even the ending at large have been a pleasure to view. I just wish this thread was easier to navigate, its so easy to miss things

Could someone explain this...you know the eyes that glow are a sign of indoctrination at the end of the game and were both Saren/TIM's eyes?? Well when you play as renegade your scars become more pronounced and your eyes start to glow red, but they have the same design as TIM's eyes. What's up with that?

The design is technically different.  Renegade Shep's are upside down/inverted compared to Indoct. Eyes.  Kinda reminds me of an inverted cross meaning evil.  It's like Sheps's eyes do a total 180 for no reason unless he's been indoctrinated or something.

If you take the endings literal the reason for Shep's eyes going inverted like that is because of how little sense the ending makes. Shepard actually breaks the 4th wall and rolls his eyes so hard that they invert.

@ hellishfiend

Nice video. First part with the speakers confused me because I'm not an audiophile. Wouldn't infrasonic waves sitll cause the speakers to move? Second part is interesting, though. I wondered why Coates was thrown in out of nowhere. Never really considered it too much though.

Couple of questions I have though. How can you be certain that the infrasonic sound was left in intentionally? Is it possible to be created as a by product of recording/creating music for the game?

It does make a small part of me want to play ME3 again, but egh until that EC comes out it's kind of...bleh.

Then if EC actually tries to justify the ending as they stand I'd just be depressed all over again.

That does actually remind me of funny occurrences though. I read a bit of fanfic in my spare time. And I was lookign at some Mass Effect ones. In the Authro's notes prior to Mar 6th there was such an excitement mentioning how stoked they were for the game. The chapter following Mar 6th ALWAYS had a ntoe just ranting about the ending. A couple even canned their stories because of how depressing the literal ending was.

I just thought it was funny watching this mountain of build up followed by a nosedive over the course of 4 or 5 days in those stories. Made me chuckle.

Got lost in the traffic...

Not ignoring you golfer. I'll get a response to you. Just a little behind right now, and I think I'm about ready to take a break from the computer for a bit. But I will get back to you!

Watched the Saren death video linked a page or two ago, and it's really funny how he is clearly talking about Synthesis, but it's portrayed as a crime against nature at that point (Code 89?) in the story.

Also, Bailey could never be a squad mate. He's a spineless bastard that helps Cerberus invade the Citadel.

It's odd the closer the EC/DLC becomes a reality the more visceral the attacks become. Not sure why people who have played this series are so opposed to the Idea. Can you really predistal a video game character in your own mind so much so that... never-mind; I am a Liara fan so I guess I'm not one to talk.

Should people, including those in the IT camp be more concerned with how it could be remotely possible that Shepard would not be Indoctrinated by now? Would that be more of a stretch? I'd like to see them write that bit of the tale without jumping the shark or using some literary crutch.

By the way, did anyone notice that Sanctuary was an Alliance facility? Just putting that out there.

Thanks. I'm planning on making a thread for it in a day or so. Wanted to give the community here in this thread a chance to absorb it first. Kind of like a pre-release party. :P

I think in their denial, some part of them is realizing the IT will probably be true. And it pisses them off.

Note to the people questioning the IT theory: There are plenty of videos on the internet (For example, the Indoctrination Theory documentary on Youtube) That explain how it could have been indoctrination all along. I highly support the IT, it's just I don't believe that's what Bioware had planned whatsoever, because I wasn't too happy with most of the game to think that it was. But yeah, I love the idea.

Ok, Seriously, calm down and take a deep breath.  I am NOT your enemy here!  It was ME who came up with this NOT them, and I brought it up to strengthen IT's argument, not to mention I wanted to get an answer from people who would NOT flip out over it.

This is why I was hesitant about bringing it up...

I realize that now, and I apologize for overreacting in your direction... I put long hours into that vid and I think it drained me a bit more than I realized at first.

Here is a modified version of my original post:

If that's the best they can do, they might as well give up now.

That "hole" is entirely circumstantial and ultimately baseless.

It relies on a conclusion based on a misinterpretation of the wording used in the final hours app.
They would be labeling themselves as hypocrites and dismissing their own case in one fell swoop.

Theyre trying to shoot the evidence down by using circumstantial evidence based on a misinterpretation. They accuse us of employing circumstantial evidence that, while circumstantial, is based entirely on precedent, lore, and context.
Theyre trying to shoot down a strong piece of evidence by using a weaker version of that same type of evidence that is based on a misinterpretation.

I was very careful to be neutral and open minded in the wording in my video, but if theyre going to try to shoot it down with that, you can safely assume they arent putting enough thought into it to justify conversing with them.

Ya I gathered that you put alot ofwork into that video, and it shows.  It was well thought out, well put together, and enjoyable, not to mention it gave me a great deal of hope for IT.

The Final Hours app just happened to cross my mind and I wanted to see what the counterpoint would be if someone were to bring it up.  it is circumstantial of course and we don't know for sure what really happened during ME3's development and what they dropped or didn't drop.  to be fair, I didn't entirely understand the story behind the Final Hours app controversy, so the point may have been moot, but it was something I was thinking about, since I try to be objective and think of counter arguments and see if the evidence can stand.

Still, I, a supporter for IT, thought of this baseless and circumstantial "hole" before the anti-ITers and trolls did, so maybe that is an even greater testament to how much thought they put into these things lol Posted Image
