It really feels like projection when they call us a cult and a religion and compare us to the Catholic Church. No offense to believers, but I find it inflammatory.

Just try to remember how much fun it'll be if/when they're proved wrong.
Unfortunately, I suspect many of the trolls won't hang around for my gloating <_<

Or, alternately, people like Ieldra and Jtav will completely verbally explode on the forums and figuratively /wrists

i just take pleasure in pressing that Report button and writing 'antagonistic troll looking to start an argument'.

And occasionally making a sharp comment throwing stuff back in their faces.

According to IT, he is just making this up as he goes along, which is why it's circular. Shepard is just nodding along as if it sounds perfectly logical, which is what victims do in the last stages of indoctrination before they fully succumb. They find themselves agreeing even though the logic makes no sense.

The real reason Reapers kill us is to produce more of themselves. As EDI said, they are selfish and wish only for self-preservation. They only see us as vermin, tools of war, food, and construction matter.

So the catalyst is telling Shepard the synthetics/organics logic, for what? Is it to buy time for the indoctrination to sink in?

No it is too fool Shepard. Destroy is essentially the uncorrupted part of Shepards mind according to IT, by picking destroy you reject the Reapers and break free. This is supported by the fact taht just about every good character in the game has a line of dialogue telling you to destroy the Reapers.

But the Catalyst aka the Reapers dont want that and paint Destroy as bad by making it the option where you accoding to them sacrifice the most, in the form of EDI/Geth/Technology.

On the other hand Control, aka TIM´s choice (who ended up Indoctrinated) is painted in a better light and Synthesis, Saren´s Choice (who also was Indoctrinated) is painted as the ultimate solution, something that ends the problem once and for all.

But the last two are traps. They are the Reapers philosiphy as shown by their two Indoctrinated servants we fought, Saren and TIM. These choices will lead to Indoctrination so the catalyst tries to make Shepard pick them by amking them appear reasonable.

And your right. If Shepard gives into Control or Synthesis Shepard has alredy lost the fight, and if you look at control it's the only ending where the Citadle lives and that's what bugs me. WHY do this, but the only thing I can come up with is Shepard is a Reaper now.

I was just watching Clevernoob's video and something struck me. Just after Shepard begins his run to the beam, you receive 400XP and some paragon points. You get a couple more paragon points during the radio conversation with Anderson during the walk down the body filled corridor on the citadel.

Why does the game award you these if it is effectively over?
There's no more enemies to fight, unless you count the three husketeers and Marauder Shields and that's not a proper fight as only your pistol is working, so why bother giving you points which you might use to level up?

All your powers are disabled, so these xp points just seem, well pointless. Were they planning post ending dlc where we could use these (fingers crossed)?

I think it's probably for New Game+

Ha. Blast from the past.

ME1: Eden Prime Debrief

Anderson: "We don't know what information was stored in that beacon. Lost Prothean technology, blueprints for some ancient weapon of mass destruction... Whatever it was Saren took it..."

A
thought planted in Sheps subconcious 3 years ago? I can't see it being
literal forshadowing. Or maybe Anderson has a crystal ball somewhere.

Wow. How on earth did I miss that? I just started a new playthrough of ME1 and everything.

BatmanTurian wrote...
" We know you want to destroy us" He has a slip of the tongue and reveals himself to be a reaper.

"
You can destroy all synthetic life if you want"  IF YOU WANT meaning it
won't necessarily happen. You could destroy synthetic life without even
bothering with the reapers. He phrases things in very open,
manipulative language like a con artist

" Or do you think you can
control us " again, telling us himself that he is a reaper. Not only
that but we just got done telling TIM that control of the
reapers is impossible, yet now the Catalysts says we can do it because
they were already controlling TIM so he couldn't do it. It's fishy as
hell.

"Synthesis
is the pinnicle of evolution. " Yeah, great. Except Soveriegn told us
that Reapers believe the pinnicle of evolution was a Reaper.

Exactly this. Not to mention the fact that when he says "or do you think you can control us" and tells you that TIM couldn't because they already controlled him, he never says that you can control them and that they're not controlling you.

On a completely unrelated note...Do I even want to know what estebanus's link is?

Anyone see this video yet? Pretty interesting.

All this proves is that the eccentric volus is indocrinated and trying to dig up a reaper artifact. Or something worse, like Zhentil that might be able to be made functional again and used by the Reapers.

No they believe the literal endings and Ieldra has created a whole head canon around why Synthesis is the garden of eden of Transhumanism. It will be a mess and they will have complete breakdowns. I predict a full forum lockdown within 24 hours.

Sorry but this disregard's what you were talking about. But why did Bioware have the citadle stay hole in Control it doesn't make sense unless they are making Shepard into a Reaper, and Synthesis is just a way for all Organics to be under there control.

We can also see Shepard desolving in the Control ending.
The Citadel staying whole (as do the Relays) probably represents that the Reapers 'won'. In the context of Catalyst's explaination it means, they abide in the same form, they have before. The only difference that Shepard is promised to play, is that command to stop attacking.
Well, and Synthesis is just what the Reapers, according to Sovereign, see as a fact that, by merging with them, there's no difference anymore, so you can basically call everything Reaper now. So, they won by definition in Synthesis too, but in a much more efficient way:
They don't need to do anything anymore. No race to 'go all cylce' on their ass, no 'threat' so no one to control anymore, so no Citadel needed, no Relays needed, since those were the Reapers' tools to control the ways organics' evolve in.

paxxton wrote...
Maybe that Shepard's dream is becoming decohesive.

See, here you're already using that Shepard is dreeming. I want to stay much more basic and use this pic to show that something's fishy about that scene, if we assume it to be real.

Human eyes don't see white light that way naturally. Computer monitors, however, show it that way.

So, what I'm claiming is that this shows, that here the camera is not representing human eyes, but synthetic, or, Reapers.

TribeTwelve is better. MarbleHornets is 20 minutes of boring, 5 minutes of Alex being a d*** and maybe 2 mins of Slendy at most.
