I can dig it. Regardless of Bioware "fleshing out" IT, IT will still be my head canon.

Yeah, I get the feeling that's what going to happen with a lot of ITers if the EC doesn't confirm IT.  Personally, I'll be fine with whatever happens, as long as it's awesome.  IT would be fantastic! heavy metal! ultra! omega! (As sirronlionheart would say.) but I would settle for something else as long as it's awesome.

I've got a couple of thoughts.

It's either meant to be a return to galactic normalcy after the reapers are stopped or like you said, Shepard return to the Citadel.

They've already said it will be free. If IT is true, I will be very happy. I will feel like my local preferred sporting franchise won the gran championship- my faith in Bioware will be validated. And honestly, anyone who has a problem with the fact that they get EXTRA content can GTFO.

This. Even if it does seem to have backfired on them in the short term, it will go down in history as a major milestone in the evolution of games. People will talk about the great Mass Effect ending mindf*ck for decades. That's bigger than the backlash could ever be.

I said that to a few people about a week after I finished the game and got hate raped. If BW had got the 6 months they asked for it probably would have either been on disk. If logistics/size didn't allow for it, it would have come out shortly after the majority of people had played through the SP campaign... and it would have been free.

We paid for a full game and no matter how much you hate the ending, IT makes the game 'complete' as it stands, maybe sans epilog, but an epilog may have caused problems with an IT reveal or keeping peoples interest piqued. The ending would have been taken too literally and they couldn't have that. It would have been a speculation killer.

Complete game in a Literal interpretation, not so much. But, even though my rage and gut punch took a few days to pass and analytical and critical thinking to kick in, I knew as soon as the idea of indoctrination wormed its way into my head (like that?), more was coming. A post ending tie up and epilog were likely already in the works.

Honestly, with close to 5 months in dev time and the CORE game and assets already being there, it's got to be massive. WTH are they doing. I really can't wait.

I know, but the EC wasn't something they had planned from the beginning. They only made it because people were flying into fanboy rages over the endings instead of intelligently examining them. If IT was their intention from the beginning, then there must be some more DLC that includes the real ending somewhere down the line. That's what I'm asking about.

Regardless, I am excited about what's to come. I can just see lots of people being pissed over not getting a "full game" from the start, and nevermind what the EC and other DLC reveals.

You know, I've been thinking about the EC, and I had a thought. It says it features an extended epilogue AND additional scenes. Why would they list those things separately? Maybe the additional scenes are not JUST in the ending, but scattered throughout the game.

I've always said that the 'additional scenes' could be anything. Possibly gameplay. No one knows. I think they were purposely vague for a reason. They simply didn't want us knowing what the EC was going to entail.

Of course, the lack of 'THERE WILL BE GAMEPLAY' in the press release has had many proclaiming that there will be none. <_<

Its like you saying there will be all sorts of fruit at the party, but since you didn't specifically say Pineapple, I throw a fit.

Thought about this and discussed a few hundred pages ago as well. If that is the case, it may be limited to where the hallucinations begin to get heavy. Most likely during or just after Cronos. Maybe we'll find out why Hackett boarded the Normandy with armed guards.

Honestly, I just think that was being cautious.  They've come too far for possible sleeper agents to kill the head of the entire fleet.
