I have fun with it, naming them after my favorite characters in fiction, but Geth are more fun because I just name them something like UNIT 458394M4T9 just random numbers and letters like I imagine Geth would identify themselves as.

I thought I was the only one who named my geth characters 'Unit [Insert numbers]'!

I named my Phoenix adept 'Fawkes'

Question!

If Shepard is waking up on Earth after the beam hits him/her... Doesn't that means that the two squadmates you brought are most likely dead?

We're starting to believe the actual run to the beam is part of the full hallucination, actually. So that would imply that the squadmates are most likely alive, regardless of your EMS (I would think).

Surely they wouldn't bring out retake omega before the EC?

And if you get the question wrong, claim artistic integrity as a defense.

The most common belief at this time is that partial hallucinations (like waking nightmares/dreams) starts at Cronos station, and that the full hallucination begins at the mako crash (the one right before the charge to the beam). There are a few who believe that Cronos is the start of a full hallucination, but that seems unlikely to me.

My vote goes to Mako-crash right before the beam-run. Everything before is real but slightly awkward already, after that the whole beam and citadel-issue are really getting surreal for me...and also a perfect point to "wake up" without too many questions to answer (where are teh squaddies? the soldiers? etc...)

But still, the choice for the cover is always Shepard with the Reapers in the background.
It might be because this is now the standard cover for generic FPS games.
On the other hand, we always had at least two of Shep's teammates on the two previous games' covers. But here it's only Shepard, the Reapers and the whole world.

It does make me think...

A possible reason for not including squadmates: Most of them can die in ME2, Javik is DLC, and EDI is a minor spoiler. That leaves James, Virmire survivor, and Liara I think. Though Liara/Virmire survivor could work.

I LOVE this teaser pic. All the emotions are so well portrayed here. But this seems to have too little action going on in the cover.
But, still more emotions and team spirit than on the original cover.

I kinda think the ones showing Shepard alone make more sense. After all, regarding the toughest challenges of thega me, Shepard always "stands alone".

I actually kinda disagree about that. Shepherd may have to make all tbe tough decisions herself, but as far as I can recall she always has friends backing her up (ok, not during Arrival, but that's just an exception)...except during the ending of ME3. That is actually second biggest problem I have with the literal ending - Shepard has to die alone. It just pisses me off.

They wont, Bioware has tated the entire ME team is working on EC and nothing else (well except for the Multiplayer team, but that is seperate from the single player team).

Exactly, Shepard is good, no the best. But he dident get to where he was alone. The mere fact that ME2 focuses on gathering a team shows this more than anything. He may be the best, but some things even he cant do alone.

Cool, we have something in common.

Also my geth are always black primary with red highlight. It's just a cool shiny dark red.

They should all be dead either way if the beam was real...
Them stepping out of the Normandy makes no sense...

This happens right before the beam run...

I kinda agree with that, but the ending is the climax of the trilogy, so it has far more weight than any decision that involves the help of your friends, unfortunately...:(

About that, do we know if there is any precedent for a "blackout" like that to indicate being knocked unconscious? I cant think of anything off the top of my head, but that would be a great precedent to have.

Wait... Shouldn't there be a flashlight or something at the crash scene? That white light? I just watched it. There isn't any. It's goes stright into black.

Maybe I'm mistaken (quite possible) but isn't one of the evidences is the white light?

Yeah, but keep in mind that we never actually see a dream start with a white light (at least, not that I can recall), just end with them. Could be that its a black screen that actually precedes hallucinations/dreams....

Yeah, that makes sense, but the fact that Shepard has to make this decision and then just dies feels to me like the emotional equivalent of a swift kick to the junk.

Of course, IT solves this problem. ;)

OT: Does anybody else ever post here using an android phone? I have to when I am at work, and it is an unbelievably frustrating experience.

Interesting.

But aren't the white light is ending the dreams?

Shouldn't it means the hallucination.... Should end many, many times?

 Yes, I realise how stupid it sounds... Sorry if I didn't quite get it. It's quite possible that I didn't.

Anyone have thoughts as to how Savage could tie in to SP? The "with so many planets conquered in Council space" bit implies they are deep into the storyline, but it is vague.

Arias mercenaries?

Yeah, seems likely, however you can do those at any point in the storyline, so we cant use that to narrow down the MP events to a specific point in the chronology.

The Cyone mission (N7: Fuel Reactors) in sp came to mind, considering it's an important fueling station. It's not in the Terminus systems, though, and it only becomes available after the geth dreadnought mission. So I don't know, did everyone connect Operation Silencer to the fall of Thessia or was it seen as the beginning of the Asari's change in tactics that eventually lead to the fall of Thessia?

Well, The white light marks both transitions and the end of dreams. (Just like the geth consensus mision, you see it several times)
