I guess this is why I can't seem to get through another playthrough of ME3.  I'm willing to hang my hat on IT, but what then?  The reapers aren't destroyed?  They win?

"Tell me another story about the Shepard"
"Alright. One more story."

When I first heard this I thought: "We're not done here yet. Shepard has one more story!"

No, the kid is just fooling around to buy time because he doesn't want to go to sleep. Posted Image

That's because you are a negative person Posted Image

When most pessimists are content to say the glass is half empty, I say the glass is half full of ******.  But still, you have to admit that was some truly godawful voice acting.

Guys, I have a question for you all. What's your opinion on this...

All this talk about the hallucination possibly starting at Cronos, do you think that the reason the LegendSave file is set right before Cronos is because the EC will completely re-write the ending? I mean, I know Bioware has said 'no new endings', but they've said a lot of things. Is it possible that we will get to replay the whole end of the game, and most everything be different? If not, then whats the purpose of the LegendSave being set where it is?

Curious. Just thought I'd throw this in and see what you guys think. Thoughts?

while I dont think the hallucination started at cronos, someone said that the "endings" might not be the choices, but rather the stargazer with kid at the end....

so.. bioware can change anything before that without altering the "endings" in anyway.

I didn't say he was a bad guy, just that he must have gotten his other talents by using voice acting as a dump stat.

Congrats!  That first solo is always a great feeling.  And it is an accomplishment, despite the MP forums being full of threads about soloing gold with an eagle.

I personally suspect that EDI, (Luna VI), was more than just a rogue training program. Given the nature of Cerberus, as revealed in ME1, the group quickly turned violent toward the Alliance Navy and began sabotaging equipment and using personel as guineapigs.

It would not surprise me at all if Cerberus found the Luna VI's advanced combat and multitasking processes as desirable, and intentionally made alterations. Once "EDI" had passed her test, the framework was taken and then improved with what could be gathered from Reaper tech.

To me, the question is more along the lines of "how" this would happen in the first place. Before Luna, Cerberus was always ahead of the game; with Luna, they would have to work after the Alliance was aware of a crisis at the training center, unless EDI is a copy.

I don't recall there being anything special about the Luna VI besides malfunctioning. It didn't kill those soldiers because it's incredibly skilled at combat, it killed them because it had ever combat advantage you can think of. The element of surprise, terrain, ect. Soldiers were basically in a glorified shooting range when the computer decided to kill them all for real. They were in what strategists would refer to as a "killing field". They didn't have a chance because of the circumstances, not the enemy skill. Shepard was sent in to take care of it quickly and quietly lest the Council get wind of the Alliance accidentally creating a murderous AI. Which is about the most illegal thing you can do in their eyes. It wasn't because a properly prepared special forces unit couldn't have taken care of it if necessary. In fact if anything the VI seemed pretty stupid. It had one tactic: zerg. There was no impressive strategy, it didn't even attempt to utilize cover for its drones. It just zerged. And if that failed, it'd try zerg again next time. And the next.

This is one argument behind why a certain squad mate of yours comments on a "hum" while in your presence: the Reaper implants developing within Shepard are resonating, turning the Commander into a walking indoctrination device.

I'd like to add, Vega would be especially susceptible to indoctrination if applied with the guilt trip way. He's already tormenting himself over that incident with the Collectors. The Reapers would refer to Vega as "jackpot."

Rifneno, I am not a literalist. But trying to link every single inconsistency and bug to IT is just silly. This is a game. I say that to be demeaning, but so people will understand that concessions had to be made.

Most of everything that has been found in cronos station looks more like quirks in game design and not much else. I'm not going to dismiss anything hellish finds off hand or anything like that. I just don't go for "this I'd weird, therefore it mist be a dream/hallucination/Indoctrination.

I'll give you london. I'll need more convincing on cronos.

And I care because? I'm discussing possibilities with the entire community, I'm not trying to convince you personally of anything. I'm not concerned in the least with the personal interpretation of someone I don't even know who starts off with "I say that to be demeaning." You're not a literalist? Doesn't matter much to me. You're exactly as productive as one. You tell us where the line is, then act intendingly condescending toward people for thinking aloud because how dare they even openly consider a viewpoint that differs from yours. This demeaning garbage is what makes people bite their tongue on voicing an idea because some self-centered windbag might start talking down to them for actually thinking and it's just not worth the effort. Frankly the IT community would be better withour your kind.

I would have to go back and replay it for the exact wording of the briefing, describing the VI, but I do recall sabotage to have been suspected. As to the ingame tactics, ME has never had exceptionally clever AI programming. Few games have, truthfully.

Thanks!  Yeah, I've watched some of the gold solo videos on youtube..and I just can't wrap my head around what they really, really good players can do.  I guess I don't have the finger agility or ability to concentrate and think tactically like some people.  That's been true for a long time, but it hasn't stopped me from playing!:D

So BioWare said they aren't changing the endings...so what if all this time they were making a 4th choice? What would you want for that choice that hasn't been given before? (Like destroy synthesis or control) Personally I would want a choice where Shepard looks at the beam, sees that it is a trap, and decides to leave.

I doubt it but what the hell, I'll tell you what I'd want. Shepard decides to take Liara up on her offer to go some place very far away and live the rest of their lives in peace. (They can take the Normandy crew too).

I'm delurking so I can hoist my little pro-IT flag here. Every time I come up with something, someone has already said it, so I generally don't post as a rule. Although I will say that I find the whole infrasound thing fascinating. It definately seems to be there deliberately, no doubts in my mind.

I believe the legendsave leaves you parked at just before the Cerberus HQ simply because after that mission we lose the Citadel. Future DLC probably launches from there.

Regarding being discouraged from posting because of how much has already been said, note that a degree of repetition helps form consensus.

I've heard that before: repeat it enough and people will begin to think it's true.

We repeat ourselves a lot, its no big deal. The more we bounce things around, the more refined our theories become. Comment anytime! And glad you liked the Infrasound video. :)
