I have already post in a stand alone thread about this. Did anybody notice the bench in Shepard`s dream? Its the same bench Shepard fell on after getting hit by the reaper beam at Alliance headquarters.

I think it could be reused assets. Anyway why does it matter? It's a bench...

A reused asset? Definitely. But it's still a strange place for a bench, in the middle of wherever this dream forest is (unless it's supposed to be a park I guess?).

Just in case you're serious, it is confirmed in game that Harbinger is not the Prothean Reaper.

No, it is not confirmed in-game that Harbinger is not the Prothean Reaper.

Bill Casey wrote...

Harbinger is far too old to be made of Protheans...
Keepers, however... remain a remote possibility...

More likely, the Keepers were simply unable to be processed, and Harbinger is something we've never heard of...

Far too old? The notion that we have any idea of his age is absurd. They had half of Sovereign's wreckage and those geniuses couldn't even tell that it wasn't a geth creation but we're expected to take it at face value that they have accurately dated Reapers still flying around? The codex's claim that he's believed to be the oldest is so asinine that it almost helps the theory that he's Prothean because it's virutally too stupid not to be there to lead us in a false direction.

EDI's comment at the end of ME2 that she hypothesised that they failed to create a Prothean Reaper is equally befuddling. EDI almost always backs up her assertions. Like how she said TIM knew the collectors' signal was fake. She knew because she found it using protocols he wrote. Why doesn't she not explain her hypothosis? Which, BTW, means she is not positive about it.

Javik said that they let the Reapers harvest entire worlds while the Empire regrouped. If the Prothean Reaper failed, what were they doing with all those people? Does anyone really think that the Reapers, who have been doing this for over a billion years, didn't know that a race wasn't viable until they were finished with the Reaper and it didn't power up or some ****? And WHY weren't the Protheans viable? Mass Effect tells us how designer diet pills work in the game and they don't explain why the Prothean Reaper failed? I call bull****. There's more to this.

Listen to the drivel Starbinger spews to indoctrinate Shepard. All Terminator level anti-AI crap, doing anything is justified to stop the terrible machines and such... who does that remind you of? That's right. Javik. That's the exact same bucket of puke that Javik vomits at anyone who will listen to his self-righteous hate speeches. But there's no evidence that Javik was indoctrinated. He's one of the firmest in belief against the Reapers. So why do they drink the same kool-aid? Because Harbinger is a Prothean too.

... Okay. LOL. Well, there is one hint. This concept art:

I guess they thought the glowing yellow eyes would be too obvious to hint at Harby's origin. Speaking of which, ever notice how Harbinger's bottom 4 "eyes" are set up exactly like a Protheans? Remember how Reapers look like their origin species under the Cthulhu shell? Yeah. Of course, detractors are quick to point out that Harbinger has 6 eyes, not 4. Damn, got me there. It's not Reapers add extra--

Oh, I guess they do add extra eyes! What do you know.

Yeah, the eyes have always been the thing that made me wonder if Harbinger was from Protheans.

Though, I thought he was the oldest...? This would essentially make him the youngest.

Y'know, Rifneno dunno if you tweet or if bioware has an email you can send this sort of question but, in the interest of clearing up confusing, you could just "tweet' Hudson or Gamble or someone how the codex determined Harbinger to be the oldest Reaper.

No, I don't use Twitter.  They don't seem to give clear answers usually anyway.  If they did I'd have made an account by now just to ask if the Reapers could be beaten conventionally.  It'd be nice to finally put to rest the train(wreck) of thought that we could beat them if we all just helped each other and bunnies and rainbows and such.

I don't believe Harbinger is actually a Prothean Reaper, but it definitely would have been an interesting twist.

He has the ability to assume direct control over Collector drones. Collectors are just repurposed Protheans. Harbinger having Prothean DNA could mean that he inherited his sensory/communication abilities from Protheans.

According to the codex, Harbinger is the oldest Reaper. Since the Reapers have been around longer than the Protheans, Harbinger was not created out of them.

True I suppose, though I don't tweet either I doubt @masseffect would give an answer beyond "because it says so in the codex". Hm, maybe Overlord Chris Priestly can pass on the question to someone on the staff? He must be watching...making sure we're not too far off topic...

Don't get him started, we've been through this before several times and have thus far agreed to disagree.

I think it's pretty telling that the great majority arguing with it always go to "the codex says he's too old," providing they clearly didn't actually bother reading a single sentence since I always thoroughly address that point.

It's because the codex entry (supposedly) is the only information we have on Harbinger either way. Aside from he's huge, has 6 yellow eyes, and likes to boast/harrass.

So if we have little information on something, then that information must be true. :?

No it's because people like to think the codex isn't lying to them, that it's information from the writers, that it's safe in there. /shrug

I stopped reading at:

Far too old? The notion that we have any idea of his age is absurd.

Because that statement suggested you had never read the codex entry on Harbinger, since it actually does give us a pretty good idea of how old he is in comparison to us - way older.

Yeah the codex is sort of our Bible. If we start doubting it, then we can't trust what it says about indoctrination, which is sort of the basis of IT.

The Codex has been wrong in some spots, usually with the Citadel being Prothean, and not being Reaper. Just saying, as a plot twist, it would negate the Codex like back in ME1.
