Not sure if serious.  Oh well.  Of course they didn't detect indoctrination silly, Shepard isn't indoctrinated yet.  Lol.

He was trying to prove a point. ;)

Yeah, I realized that like a minute after posting.  Sometimes you gotta facepalm yourself.  Lol.

Far too old? The notion that we have any idea of his age is absurd.

Because that statement suggested you had never read the codex entry on Harbinger, since it actually does give us a pretty good idea of how old he is in comparison to us - way older.

I'd read the rest of the post, it's quite interesting. And I shudder to think Rifneno hasn't read the entire codex entry...several times.

The Codex has been wrong in some spots, usually with the Citadel being Prothean, and not being Reaper. Just saying, as a plot twist, it would negate the Codex like back in ME1.

Actually, that is a good point. I'm not sure if it nullifies what I said, but you are very right.

No it's because people like to think the codex isn't lying to them, that it's information from the writers, that it's safe in there. /shrug

Right. The codex, that thing that calls the mass relays marvels of Prothean engineering in ME2, that should be trusted implicitly.

I thought IT was a sanctuary for people who like to USE their brains...

But obviously it's not, because FellishBeast is here.

Not serious. I'm blatantly mocking people who reply without reading first.

I read the rest after. It's interesting, yes. What I found the most interesting was the human Reaper with Prothean eyes, though. That was interesting.

Harbinger did seem to have a special attachment to the Collectors, so there's that, I guess.

Well you could look at it this way... Reaper forms get x1.5 the amount of eyes...
So for Prothean, 4 becomes 6, and for Human 2 becomes 3.

Seems kinda weird, but the math works.

Here's the quote from the codex. Let's see if we can all spot the key word. I'll help!

"The Reaper called Harbinger is believed to be the oldest and largest in the Reaper armada."

Mr. Oxford, what does this word mean?

"1accept that (something) is true, especially without proof:"

Thanks, Mr. Dictionary!

Oh come now, I use my brain some of the time. Didn't they fix that bit of the codex in 3 finally? Can't remember for the Relays but I remember reading some about the Reapers to do with the Ctiadel entryu. Anyway it makes sense in the codex in ME2 if the codex is written from the perspective of in-universe characters since "Ah yes 'Reapers' --- we have dismissed that claim" with the Council and all. But that implies the codex is put together by in-universecharacters and not the writers themselves which produces the question "How did they attain Habingers age as the oldest Reaper?" for the codex entry. . . . Not as if they lopped off one it's tentacles and counted the rings, right?

I'm starting to think that's how he expresses his fondness, y'know tough love and all that as a way of getting others to think. Either that or he's genuinely frustrated.... :?

Yeah, I'm not sure where they got that information...I feel like something that doesn't make sense like that is just BioWare giving us background without breaking the fourth wall, I guess.

Here's my thoughts on the Prothean Reaper.

-There isn't a Prothean Reaper.
-Harbinger is old, maybe not First Reaper old, but old enough.
•So Harbinger isn't Prothean, it would be interesting though.
-a.The Reapers failed to create a Prothean Reaper because they disn't know what was the real Prothean, because everyone was considered Prothean, and they may have mixed species, and it failed
-b.The Protheans are weaker then they appear to be, compared to Humans, and the Synthesis failed.
-After they failed, they turned the remaining Protheans they had into Collectors, to help wipe out the Protheans as they can't be harvested properly.

Still working some details, but that's the basics.

No one has anything to say about this?

Clearly the Reapers simply think 50% more moar eyes is better!

I'd like to point out that Harbinger is entrusted both with controlling the Collectors and with dealing with Shepard. Neither seem like duties that would be given to the "newbie" of the bunch.

Frustrated?  Because I spent 20 minutes writing a post only to have it dismissed on the basis of a weak argument that I addressed first and foremost?  Then hearing it's because I've never read the codex to see its awesome all-truthfulness?  Heavens no!  I enjoy that.  I enjoy it even more than the last 2 times the theory was discussed and I got the exact same crap because people don't read a two page post before replying "no" in a Sten voice.  I enjoy it so much I could punt a kitten at an orphan.

Makes me wonder if the Reapers, are actually called Peepers, and the Protheans are just to severe to have a sense of humor.

Nope, I've got nothing to say to this. You're surprised? :P

I really thought the humans double eye looked identical to a Protheans. Maybe the Collectors were playing the "artistic integrity" card.

Edit: In other news: I will never unlock the Krogan Sentinel :bandit:
