I'd like to point out that Harbinger is entrusted both with controlling the Collectors and with dealing with Shepard. Neither seem like duties that would be given to the "newbie" of the bunch.

"Harbinger speaks of you"

Thats the only time we ever hear another Reaper reference Harbinger. We only assume he is the leader because of his control of the Collectors and interest in Shepard. But what if he simply controls the Collectors because he has an affinity for them?

Protheans become Collectors, Prothean Reaper controls Collectors.
Humans become Uberhusks, Human Reaper controls Uberhusks.

Would certainly explain the whole "Become a Reaper" business.

Well you could look at it this way... Reaper forms get x1.5 the amount of eyes...
So for Prothean, 4 becomes 6, and for Human 2 becomes 3.

Seems kinda weird, but the math works.

No one has anything to say about this?

Clearly the Reapers simply think 50% more moar eyes is better!

Nope, I've got nothing to say to this. You're surprised? :P

I really thought the humans double eye looked identical to a Protheans. Maybe the Collectors were playing the "artistic integrity" card.

Edit: In other news: I will never unlock the Krogan Sentinel :bandit:

At first I read that as "In other words: I will never unlock the Krogan Sentinel" and was about to compliment you on your fine logic. :P

There is no human Reaper though. So, who's controlling the husks?

Makes me wonder if the Reapers, are actually called Peepers, and the Protheans are just to severe to have a sense of humor.

Whist searching for the proper pics for that incredibly ill-advised post, I found this one that... well, I'd be remiss if I didn't share this one now:

Collectors acted like husks in Javik's visions. Mindless attacking enemies. Maybe having a Reaper to control them makes them smarter and more organized like we see them act in the comics/ME2.

Probably just follow the signals, no actual "control".  Kinda like full on Indoctrination :P

Same applies to the Geth, it seems.

Just wanted to weigh in on the Harbinger as the Prothean reaper debate. Although the codex does claim that he's the oldest Reaper and that would mean he must be much, much older than the Prothean cycle why does he bare such a startling appearance to the Collectors and (hence) the Protheans?, but, having said that if we must question the validity of the source of this information itself: The Codex, what weight do any of our other arguments that depend on the Codex carry?

Genuine question: what other codex entries do we rely on besides the one on indoctrination? I cant recall any other codex entries that we cite as a support for IT.

Yes, but Collectors can fire guns. Were they not in the flash backs, I can't remember?

Husks just want to tickle you to death.

The indoctrination codex entry is based off actual observation, but in-universe there's no way to find out how old Harbinger is.

Well, for what it's worth, I still think the theory bears merit. It would explain a lot of things, and if husks being weak melee enemies instead of gun toting enemies is the biggest problem with the idea, I think that says more for it than against it...

I always found it amusing that while the Reapers consider humans the best species for this cycle, reaperized humans are the most laughably pathetic of their forces. Then again, nothing makes less sense than banshees being the badass unit instead of brutes.

I agree. If we're supposedly most valuable as genetic goo, why turn so many into husks....

I don't see how. Mindlessly running at someone is mindless. Handling a gun, and using tactics is a whole different story; requires some form of control.

I'll take a shot at it.

ME1 already had husks, and they wanted to keep them though the entire trilogy. When it came to making the Reaper forces, they wanted to get as much diversity as possible and use as many different alien races as possible. A lot got left out, obviously. So I guess there probably wasn't any room left for a plethora of different human Reaper monsters. They did have Scions in ME2, though. Those were bamfs.

Also, if you compare humans physical stature to the other races, we can be found lacking. I think it is the intangible qualities of humanity that got Harbinger's attention.

So yeah, they want the human spirit, not the body, as much, maybe? Husks have bravery against all odds going for them, that's for sure!
