Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark II!

So expect me to be scarce in the thread over the weekend, as I'm going to be dedicating the entire weekend to production, and there's no chance I'll be able to keep up with the thread while it's moving at a faster pace.
I will be checking my PMs though, so I'll be available if anyone wants me for anything.
Happy speculating, and stay cool, everyone!

Its make or break moment. But not for us. This is Bioware's moment.
The IT community did more then enough, they found clues, hints, inconsistancies, hidden sounds, and then assembled them all into a very strong and coherent theory to explain it all. They fought off neighsayers and trolls, mostly in a very polite manner, and they admitted when they were wrong when evidence showed it.
If Bioware never intended IT, that is hardly the fault of the people here. Its Bioware's fault for making such a badly crafted ending to a truely epic story.
And if Bioware did intend IT, then they can go down in history of being the greatest game developer of all time.
If anything, Bioware is the one who's waiting for the 26th with baited breath. Waiting to see if its their truimpth, or the start of an even bigger ****storm.
If they're smart, they'll probably know which way to go.
I just don't see the point in supporting a company that is more moronic than a goddamn tree...
If the EC makes the ending great, IT or not, I will continue to support BioWare in the future. I personally dont see how the EC would be able to make the literal endings anything other than absolute crap, though, so its basically IT or I find a new favorite video game company.

I don't really care what happens either way.
It was confirmed long ago that you can reunite with the squad. That's enough for me. I love IT, and if it's true, fantastic. However I refuse to let people get me down if it isn't true, I still enjoy the game for what it is and will always cherish the original trilogy regardless of what they choose to do in the future with the Mass Effect IP.

Indeed. As many have said, its last chance time. If things don't satisfy, Bioware loses a lot of fans and gets extremely bad press and word of mouth.
No-one could be that foolish, could they?

You know who I feel bad for? Ownaholic. He's been finishing up his part 2 documentary that was going to be even longer than the first... and now the EC cuts him off. Poor lad.

hm. I see your point. With the current endings, they really can't screw up more than they already did, could they?
The most important thing for me is to have the possibility to reunite with Liara...

I personally think you're grasping at straws.
From how Bioware has been talking up the EC, it seems like they want us to take it literally.
The Extended Cut is an expansion of the current ending. Logically, IT would retcon all the established ending concepts. That's not an expansion. IT is not an expansion. Wake up people. I know all of you deep down inside have some doubt about IT. Stop setting yourselves up for disappointment and face the music.
I consider myself pretty objective. Mainly because I don't care about IT being true or false. I just want an awesome ending, face value or IT I don't care.
The fact is there's no single statement from Bioware in which you can read that IT is false ( I hope there would be at least one, that would give me at least peace).

Tuesday's going to be a good day, I'm sure
By the way - does anyone have a save somewhat like my old ones - Vanguard/Adept, Paragon, high EMS? Basically I didn't have cloud storage enabled and lost my completed saves when I reinstalled windows - I'd really appreciate it as there's no way I have time to do a full playthrough in one weekend.
Please give me a PM if you've got something I can use, cheers
And now, on to the text wall:
Question is - is this before, after or during the current "end" sequence?OdanUrr wrote...

Let me make this perfectly clear:BP20125810 wrote...
I think the 2 GB compensates for the
many different endings possible. Plus, the DLC people aren't able to
"crunch" data to make it fit better, which is what they do on the
original game disc. I'll be surprised if there is game play difference.
They've said numerous times that EC will be just dialogues and
cinematics.
No. They. Did. Not.
I guess one way or another, Wednesday will be a day of much gloating - I'm looking forward to it

Listen until 9:11. Uh... that's a bit scary.
Hmm.... they could also mean people like Ieldra who came up with that crazy headcanon about Synthesis. He could be talking about literalists taking the ending... uh... literally. We're jumping to conclusions again guys. Come on, keep some level heads. This stuff is still really vague.

Most important thing is 'have the story make sense, and don't stab your fans in the heart again'.
IT or not, I don't care. Just make sense! Just deliver the ending the fans deserve! The ending Mass Effect deserves!
And then make sure Dragon Age 3 is great too.

Listen until 9:11. Uh... that's a bit scary.
But indoctrination was intended at one point. In the very late stages. There's evidence. If he's referring to IT, how could he say that it was never intended?
IT was never intended and there was never "evidence" of it just a bunch of wishful thinking.
" working on a gameplay mechanic where Shepard would be completely controlled by harbinger. Didn't work out so we canned the mechanic."
Didn't say they canned the concept. Try harder.
You're right, they didn't can the concept. They had TIM do it.
Walters says it clearly at around 9. Do honestly think he's not talking about ITers? Honestly? From the beginning of this whole EC announcement they've said over and over that they are not changing the endings, they aren't retconning them, nothing. The original FAQ canned IT. The endings are what they are in a very literal sense.

Posté 22 juin 2012 - 06:46
Now what would be the use in saying "original?"
Why not just say "what was implied by the endings?"
