I think this thread needs some motivational

"Stand fast, stand strong, stand together." - Hacket

"Hold the line!" - Kirrahee

"But it is not this day! This day we fight!" - Aragorn

"The dreams of those who have fallen, the hopes of those who will follow! Those two sets of dreams, waeved together into a double helix drilling a path towards tommorow!" - Simon

"Just who the hell do you think I am!" - Kamina

Also Kamina, and my favorite: "Don't believe in yourself. Believe in ME who believes in you! "

My guess is that the ending mixed literal and non-literal moments, and at least some of what happened in the end took place in Shepard's head as a battle of wills. As I've said before, I think IT is on to something, but is off the mark.

Literalists might get dissapointed to find that nothing has changed to remove all possibility of IT, and that the new ending is just as vague on that point as the old.

What would be nuts/weird would be if they made EVERY ending valid. Synthesis gets their nonsense, Control gets PHENOMINAL COSMIC POWER, and people who picked destroy get Indoc theory. but indoc theory only exists if you picked destroy. Certainly a please all, but I don't know if I could stomach it or not.

Still, it would be an easy fix, I guess. It's like your playthroughs are alternate realities.

It could work, but it would also lead to arguments in the future about which is the "true" ending. Synthesis is just nonsense though. F-R. Never go F-R. Even Control makes more sense.

So who are all these people? To me they look like the following:

From left to right: Liara, Ashley, Samara???(I don't know, the face looks femine), Bailey(???), Garrus, Joker (posssibly Anderson, but it seems too slim to be him), Tali and EDI.

Whether it will be better is uncertain. It will, however, certainly not involve any such hogwash as the Indoctrination Delusion.

You are wasting your time here. Either interpret that to your own devices, or the thread's.

But all you're doing is attempting to stir the pot, and that's accomplishing nothing but reaffirming the reasons why you should be avoided in further conversations regarding any topic.

For those interested about the EC:
http://uk.ign.com/ar...oming-next-week
As much as i loathe IGN, and alot of their comments are just stupid, some are decent and its an interesting enough thing to watch, granted im only 10 minutes in.

can't believe this BS is still going around

"Bioware has already said that the indoctrination theory is not true, and
can't be true based on several facts. The biggest one being that you
are not on earth in that final cut-scene which means the indoctrination
theory can't be true. Although I do agree that it was a great theory and
I personally believe bioware should have just went with it. IMO it
would have made a great ending to the series."

"The
scene where it shows shepard lying in rubble and then taking a breath.
Although alot of people may not have gotten that scene, you can look it
up if you havent seen it. Also bioware has stated at several press
conferences that the indoctrination theory is a great fan made concept
but is not true. "

ugh <_<

I'm sure if they had actually said, that, there would be 20+ pages of nothing but trolls posting that all over this forum and basically screaming "IM RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG, YOU SUCK! LOOK AT HOW AWESOME I AM!"

This is what Catmandooiles does every day.

As I said before, these are placeholders because not all of these characters will be alive in every playthrough.

What is the scene exactly? Is it after the end or before it?

I think that would be pretty much.perfect. The IT canon could be that any Shepard who picked green or blue became indoctrinated, and those who liked control or synthesis could keep the ending that.they liked.

Dunno. Mystery male on the far right looks like it might be Jacob. Regardless, those cables hanging everywhere suggest the Normandy is ****ed up at the end. Please god... don't let it be crashed on Gilligan's Planet... lol.

Wouldn't the Ashley placeholder count for both Ashley and Kaiden?

From left to right:

Liara, Ashley, Vega (behind Ash) Kaidan, Garrus, Bailey (that's interesting) Tali, Javik (behind Tali) and sexbot aka EDI

It would certainly reignite debate on whether on not a character or situation is always canon.  A good example is DA2's everyone is bisexual except when they aren't (gay or straight depending on your choices).

It would certainly start more heated debate, with people saying x ending doesn't make sence because y ending has this.

Every ending is going to have some measure of validation attached to it, I feel, to not upset people who picked those endings.  For that reason alone the full enchilada IT is unlikely.

Regardless, they'll all placeholders so it doesn't really mean anything solid. Except for Liara, unless new circumstances arise, all of those characters can be dead. So all this really means is that we get a moment of silence with the squad in front of the memorial board.

*Edit: maybe EDI's place is taken up by Shepard in the case of destroy, since she's apart from the rest of the crew and Shep would be alive in that situation.

Ooooh, maybe they're the ones that died and they are all ghosts ... forever haunting the crashed Normandy.

Can anyone figure out what is in the subtitles in this pic? It looks like Hckett is telling everyone to dissengage because the crucible is active. But I can't make it out totally...

I also found this comment from Hudson interesting...

Yes it appears he is saying to dissengage and that comment is interesting.

Even if the IT as a whole turns out not to be true, I still think elements of it like the dream sequences being indoctrination attempts still can make sense.

You know, I cannot fathom the mindset of somebody who is excited for the EC, not because they think their preferred ending will be proven true, but because they get to relish in the disappointment of those who were wrong. I honestly cannot imagine what it is like to be such a person. I guess I just don't get ****s. Oh, and if we turn out to be right, please don't be ****s about it, folks!
