And can we bring back some Native American flair to the Elves, I would love that.

There were many qualities about the Dalish elves in DAO that seemed to be Native American to me (except their accents).  The totems of their gods seemed to resemble Native American gods/spirits.  In many ways, they acted as if they had been on the reservation for a couple generations, and had left, trying to regain their heritage.

Hi everyone!
It was a tremendous surprise the first time i saw Dragon Age Origins and play it through PC, so extense if you add the DLC available, good models and graphics, lots of items, some variants in the main plot depending on the decisions and places you visit, and so many points to talk about, it was a huge game with everything on his side.

When DA2 Came out, i was really excited, thinking about a second Arch Demon might appears or maybe to continue the plot according to Grey Wardens, what about Morrigan's Son..., so many things got in my mind at that time, BUT, it was not.

The idea of getting a main character pre-designed was cool, the new fight style it's better than DAO, the plot was OK but something got wrong in some point, the DAY/NIGHT switch was fine because you can unlock some quests, but i think it could be done better, or maybe in real time.
About the graphics, they look great, but somehow in DAO you can get a better detail texture of the equipment than DA2., something that i really dont like was the new models of darkspawn/Ogre, because they look so simple, even if in Awakening they look similar (the one Evolved), it's a lot better the models of DAO/Awakening/Dark Spawn Chronicles, because they dont look like rambling corpses in a chain mail. the same goes for the Qunari, but i think it's ok, because the Arishok looks amazing XD.

Yes, you may think that i'm wrong or because it's a game it had to evolve, but when a game evolves it's because it has new and better things to offer without quitting the essence of the series, you know something for good.

In Short  words, personally,i'd really want something Epic, maybe DAO is a good example of it, DA2 Kirkwall's plot was fine, but it's so repetitive to visit same places from chapter to chapter and get's monotone to fast, and there was a lot of doubts, like, where did Flemmeth go? she possesed Morrigans Body? what about the other Grey Wardens? is there another ArchDemon?, What about Sten?? Did you really kill him or it was just a coincidence in the names? and so many things to talk about.

Better game plot (and the hero plot)? Dragon Age Origins
Better graphics and visual effects? Dragon Age 2, but hate the new models of enemies (Darkspawn>D)
Better DLC? Dragon Age Origins of course xD

Please comment ppl, this time the developers want to help us to help them, so i think it's good to know the player ideas and thoughts.:kissing:

From a technical point of view, I'd like to see a new engine. I think the fans would gladly wait for an engine that could handle a thriving city full of people. When I wandered around Kirkwall, I wanted to be brushing past the people, like Ezio in Asassin s Creed. It felt empty, and I felt alone; for a city that was supposed to be overcrowded.

From a story point of view, I would love to see the Black City in the Fade. I remember wandering the Fade, and looking out into the expanse, and wondering if I could get out there and see it. Take me there in Dragon Age 3!

I second this. This was one of my biggest gripes about DA2 and Kirkwall...it felt completely dead, especially in comparison to the GTA games or the AC games. While I am aware that there are limitations, making crowds a mechanic in-game (especially in the populous imperial capital of Orlais) might be a really good thing.

Basically, I don't really want to spend a lot of time in cities again unless you can give them a lot more life and dynamism. Kirkwall changing over the years was okay, but it still felt fairly lifeless. An engine upgrade with more NPC action and fewer load times would be a good investment, in my opinion.

NOTE: this is not to say I want to see DA turn into GTA or AC; far from it. I like party-based strategic combat, and preferred the game play of DAO to DA2. I just like vibrancy, too.

Sten is a rank in Qunari... a title, not a name. So I don't believe you killed him in DA2.

I'd like to know what the deal is with Sandal. Also expound on Flemeths role. And where did Morrigan go? What do the Templars wear under thier skirts? Specifically, Cullen? Are they 'protected'? Did someone end up eating Ser-Pounce-Alot?

I would be very happy, if one of the companions in Dragon Age 3 were an Anderfels Shieldmaiden (bonus points if she were to talk with Ze Akkzent; super-bonus points for a raven-like appearance).

"Protected" like all male Templars have to wear a codpiece with the face of Andraste on it... Kinda like Sebastian's belt?

An Orlesian ball would be top of the list.

I'd also love to see more of Thedas politics, we got a taste of it in Origins (especially the Human Noble background), Awakening and DA2 but more on the relations between Ferelden, Orlais, Tevinter etc would be interesting. Awakening had a small amount of acting as an actual leader (dealing with petitioners), which I'd love to see more of - particularly given that the Champion of Kirkwall never seemed to have the influence that the title would suggest.

(As an aside, the Noble origin story did such a fantastic job of engaging us with the Couslands/Howes and their history before the betrayal, it gave a personal weight to the Warden that I just didn't ever feel with the way Hawke abruptly left Lothering. The confrontation with Howe was one of the best points in the game.)

What really turns me on about the Dragon Age series is:

I. The Lore.

Thedas is fascinatingly composed as a continent, though I wonder if it is the only continent in that world. We know that the humans and the kossith were foreigners to Thedas in their origins and that the Arlathan elves were the first inhabitants, but I want to know what lies beyond Thedas. Are there other continents? Tolkien has the mythic "Western Continent" in his LotR universe, but so much of Dragon Age's successes are in the originality the game brings to the fantasy genre.

II. Customization / Choices

In Origins, there was enough customization in terms of stories, background, and appearance that every player character felt like "ours". DAII sacrificed some customization for gameplay's sake, but overall the gameplay is much smoother though more homogenized.

IE

It's difficult to play through Nightmare without Anders (bar a support-styled spirit healer Hawke, though Anders outdoes Hawke in most situations due to his personal tree) because he brings so much utility to the table, and Varric has a bunch of advantages over his competitors for the rogue role not to mention his humor which puts him leagues above all the other followers. Merril's lack of the Creation tree adds to the "only one viable healer" problem.

I suppose I have a love/hate relationship with the DAII battle system. Cross-class combos are great for supporting diversity in the group compositions; and as you play through nightmare, the more these combos become necessary. However among the available characters there were standouts (Anders, Varric) and not so standouts (Isabela, Sebastian in the sense that Varric does his job better). I really liked Isabela's character, and for the sake of role play I would have liked to bring her along more, but even though her personal tree emphasizes survivability, she dies way too often on Nightmare. In Origins we were able to modify weapon talents to serve our purposes; I could have made Isabela an archer if I wanted to make her "fit" in the group, though that made every character feel generic. I can't judge what should be done, but I can say that there were good and bad portions to each battle system.

Offense > Defense in most cases.

III. Dialogue

The dialogue in the game is great. I much preferred the DAII voice-overs, especially with Hawke, and I liked the ability to create your Hawke's personality through interactions. There were light scenes, heavy scenes, and plain out awesome ones. A few of my favorite conversations:

Carver and Hawke

The entire "inferiority" complex Carver has was so much more interesting (and realistic) than Bethany's happier stance. A few of the scenes between (in my play-throughs) the brothers really killed, especially the ones where Carver reluctantly tries to appeal or apologize to his older brother, usually ending with the one-liner "Brother". During one of their conversations in Act I, or after Legacy, I got the feeling that theirs was a very real sibling relationship.

Hardened Leilana/Alistair

When these two own up to themselves, well, they become such enthralling characters. The conversation you have with Alistair before the Landsmeet, or with Leilana before the Final Battle, well, it struck me more then when they were so happy. I suppose that because they changed over the game I liked their characters more.

The Majority of the DA-II Romance Dialogue

I compare the story-telling elements of this game a lot with its Mass Effect counterparts, and to be honest, DA-II felt more meaningful than in ME (1-2-3) in regards to the romantic conversations. Forget the heterosexual/homosexual controversies (nearly everyone of these love interests is bisexual; sexuality is a spectrum, go Bioware for being progressive) the developing relationship between Hawke and his LI felt natural, and the three-year skips in between acts let us see more development. Aveline / Donnick was frankly cute and endearing. Also, DA actually addresses the issue of sexuality in most of the cases (Anders mentions Karl being his first, a female Warden asks Leilana if she is interested in other women) which is a lot more realistic.

Anyway, I've gone on too long.

Hmmm, so many things!
Apart from the obvious like a resolution to the mage/chantry/templar conflict, I'd love to learn more about how the darkspawn might change after the advent of the Architect. I am very curious as to what the Grey Wardens were doing while the events of DA2 were happening. Also, where did Morrigan and her dragon-souled child go? Where will they reappear?
I'd like to visit Kal Sharok, and maybe see some sort of resurgence of Dwarven civilization. Will they try and retake even some portion of the Deep Roads, reconnect the cities?
It would be great to see more of Tevinter and round out their "evil empire" image somewhat. Is there a parallell to the mage's underground there, where they smuggle slaves to safety? Is there resistance to magister rule? Also, what about Feynriel? What is Sandal's story? Can either of them kick that bloody demon out of my favorite mage?
Soooo many things....

I think that we should learn more about the Wardens. What were they doing in DA2? And the First Warden. Who is he/she? What do they do exactly? And how are they chosen?

I'd also like to see more of the Architect and Disciples. I became very interested in them in Awakening, and I'd like to see more of them, and possibly for a Disciple to be a companion (Of course, you can have an option to kill the Disciple before he can join, like Zevran.)

I'd also like to see more of the Qunari and their culture. And possibly a chance to join them. I've always like their philosophy, and Sten always seemed to explain it in a way that made sense to me. And maybe a Sarabaas as a companion?

And I'd like to see more specializations than we've had in the past. Perhaps all the ones we already have, and then add a few? And allow us to choose our companions specialization. I liked that they had their own specialization - it made them more unique - but I disliked that I couldn't give them another specialization on top of the other one. So, I'd like for companions to have 2 specs. - their own, unique one, and then another one from the standard specs.

1. Fade City - it would be interesting to find out how that fits in to the plot and into..
2. Mage/Templar Conflict: Key point in DA2 that looks like a major plot scenario. I can think of a couple of ways how to tie in the Black City of the Fade into conflict
3. I think it's mentioned that the Dwarf cities are falling to darkspawn... resolving or seeing outcome of that?
4. Architect - How will that work out? It seems that the Awakening's choice was fairly major - how would that play out?
5. Backstory for bunch of people - Flemeth and Varric namely
6. Exploring Qunari and Tevinter areas - see more of their culture.

I feel like the struggles of elves has been addressed the least throughout Dragon Age. The mages have a whole war being faught over some rights. The dwarves are reclaiming their lost thaigs. We've learned a lot about the origins of darkspawn and what drives them. But the elves are still confined to ghettos or caravans, almost completely without their history and culture. A culture I really would like to learn about.

Blood Magic: inherently evil or a powerful tool that often winds up in the wrong hands?(always wished the games commented more on mainchar taking up the art)

Elves' lost empire and how their diaspora has impacted their culture( are their different ideologies, like bitter vengeful ones like the Mandalorians in Kotor, or those who chose to adapt and thrive only to lose the respect of some of their own beyond the distinction of city elf)
Since Quarni are spose to be inspired by the great expansion periods of Islam, i think I heard that somewhere, I'd be curious to see what a major shift like from the golden age of the Abbasids, where the Islamic world was the center of science and culture while Europe was awash in the brutal dark ages where written language disappeared, to the Fatimid opposition and civil war and how people like al Ghazalia started to roll all of their scientific accomplishments back. Mostly on want to see quarni in their element facing change because they always seem so rigid outside of it.

first of all, thanks to everyone on the Bioware team for collecting feedback like this! It really helps increase my confidence for where the next game will go.

I haven't read through the thread yet so I don't know exactly what's been said, but here's the stuff that come to mind for me (also I should note that I've only played the games and haven't dove into the EU yet):

I'd love to know more about...well, basically every culture and country we haven't had a chance to really explore much yet. Orlais, Tevinter, Rivain, Antiva, the Qunari (well, we've gotten to explore them a little more in DA2 but I find them fascinating). So...yeah, I think basically getting a chance to see any of those countries would make me super-excited.

More specifically, I really want to know more about Tevinter. Most of what we've seen from that culture so far has been pretty negative--a bunch of abusive, manipulative slavers and blood mages. So far, if I had to pick a country that has the most "evil" influence on the DA universe (outside of the Darkspawn) I'd pick Tevinter, no question. That being said, one constant theme in the series is that things aren't black and white, so I'm guessing that while the culture and government is corrupt, there's still some people within the culture who we wouldn't think of as necesarily "bad." So I'd kinda like to see a story of someone in the Empire, say, questioning their treatment of slaves, or their use of blood magic. Of course, I expect anyone that would question it would go under a lot of hardship if they were at all open in their beliefs, so I'm not saying I want to see some sparkily defender of righteousness from Tevinter. If we saw a character like what I'm thinking, they'd probably be something like a refugee, right? Or they'd be quiet about their viewpoints and it'd be something we'd find out by surprise later. Or maybe they'd even be cowardly and spineless! I don't know...I just think it'd be interesting to explore what it would be like to disagree with a corrupt culture like that and (probably) being unable to do anything about it.

TL;DR: More about Tevinter, particularly a not-quite-so-evil character from that region (and how they deal with what their culture has become.)

Otherwise...well, I always find the different races interesting. Dwarves, elves, the lady of the forest, etc.--more about any of them would be awesome. And I did notice the first page had people mentioning Morrigan and Flemeth and I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing that story continue to unfold, as well as possibly learning more about Sandal and his prophecy.

Really, I love the world of Dragon Age, so pretty much any new information on it would make me super happy.

I'd love to hear the tale of the Everlasting Cave, so endless and infinite it's said that once an adventurer travelled through it nigh on forty times on separate occasions and almost didn't notice the difference...

I kid, I kid. I always kind of liked the idea of Tevinter, where you don't have to listen to someone screaming the chant of light at you round every corner. It'd also be nice to learn the truth about the Tevinter mages' supposed intrusion on the Black City, maybe learn a little more about the city itself.

Without a doubt, more of the Qunari and perhaps the Tal-Vashoth: Society and daily life on Par Vollen and Seheron, kossith ladies, how to say 'thank you' in Qunlat, what happened to the Fex and the Fog Warriors. Stuff like that.

And, of course, a wider sample of the different and colourful racial/species-specific backgrounds that must exist through Thedas. :)

First off, I want to say I loved DA2, no matter what anyone says.

Now to my questions.

1) Will we see more of Leliana, and if so, the Warden? Because she was my Warden's love, so I'd love to see them together. Also, I was thinking it would be hard to do the voice for him, so here's my suggestion. As we had the choice of picking a barely used voice in Origins, you guys should round up all of those voice actors, and have them all say the same lines. It's kind of like a TON of different genders of Hawkes or Shepards.

2) Is there more to the world than Thedas? Do the Qunari perhaps know of any other continents besides Thedas?

3) How will Hawke fit into the (hypothetical ;)) DA3? Will we see his return to the rebuilt Lothering? Also, will his love interest (Merrill for me) be with him?

4) Speaking of Merrill, how do you clarify her and Keeper Marethari's random voice changes from Origins to DA2? I found it very disturbing that in the first game, I was speaking to this mature First to the Keeper, then in the second, I was speaking to this very child-like lost elf (loved her anyway, though ;)). Just thought it was odd.

5) Who is right in their religion, the humans or the elves? The humans sound like they're right, from seeing the Black City and such, but the elven religion sounds really, really interesting. Oh, a thought just occurred to me. Maybe we could meet the Dread Wolf in DA3!

Thank you for your time you took to answer me questions. It will make me even more excited for DA3. :)

Since pretty much everything that could ever be addressed has been addressed already at this point, I'll just be brief. Or try to be brief, at least.

On the subject of companions, in, like, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, you could have five of your buddies with you at a time. Then in Neverwinter Nights you just had one, and in NWN:HotU, you could have two. Then in Origins and DA2 you could have three with you at a time. Will we ever have an option to take more of our companions with us? I realize that with party banter that could get complicated, not to mention running around in the streets of a city with a small army behind you -- that's a bit silly. But at the same time, I always hated leaving more than half of the group behind. Playing Dragon Age 2, I got to the end of the game and realized that I'd left Anders sitting in his clinic for more than seven years.
So, will we ever have the option to take more people with us?

If there's one thing I do want to see, however, more than a glorious delving into Antivan politics or Orlesian balls, it's more about the Darkspawn. The Architect really made me curious. An intelligent Darkspawn companion like him -- or at least as a character with enough importance to show up more than once or twice -- would be really interesting. It'd also make for a lot of fun at social gatherings.

More than this, more culture would be amazing. More environments. Showing, and less telling. In a lot of cases, mystery can add so much more to a story or a world or a place. Not everything needs to be explained.
