From what I have seen, Diablo III is an RPG with the RPG elements cut out of the game. (Skills awarded on level up, instead of through the point buy/character customization system. Randomly generated loot is OK, but the current D3 is less of an RPG then Borderlands.)
So, Lets not leave for D3 if we leave, but for D2.

2. People saying D3 is just like D2 with better graphics obviously did not care to look very deep. Those 2 games are about as far apart as ME and ME3 and I see no complaining there. You can not expect a sequel to be a totally different game for obvious reasons.
3. D3 has the highest number of pre-orders on Amazon and other retailers _ever_ for PC. So yeah you can expect to actually feel the effect on every other MP game out there. At least for a while.
4. Blizzard actually cares to support their games. Diablo 2 is 10 years old and people are still playing it online.
5. The BioWare devs are going to be busy playing Diablo 3 too!
6. The most important reason! Killing hordes of foes + their tough bosses in full story coop for loot, xp and glory is just so much fun.

Hell, I got tired of ME3 a month ago and went back to StarCraft 2. I am going to kill SO many demons tonight.astheoceansblue wrote...
I know horde mode with limited options is geting stale for some, but I played the beta of D3 and it was one of the most underwhelming experiences I've had in years...
Did those of you who've tried it actually enjoy it?

I am all set for Diablo 3. I enjoyed the beta. I think the new class customization system is well done. Sure, its largely nostalgia, but that's why I enjoyed Torchlight for a while too. Blizzard has high production values, so I don't doubt I'll get my entertainment dollar value from it. Its a straight-forward click fest, sure.... but its really good at what it does.

Not because of I expect Max Payne MP to be any better (although, it probably will be), but because the MP in ME3 is becomming exceedingly stale. The glitches and bugs that were in at launch are STILL in the game; very little has been fixed and aside from reskins and three weapons, nothing new has been added. I might come back when Bioware adds a large content patch, but come the 29th of May I'll be out.

I know I won't. I've had my fair share of Diablo 6-7 years ago. Played it for 2.5 years solid and enjoyed it a lot, but it now seems more like mindless clicking instead of playing an actual game. I might buy it cause my brother is so hyped about playing it and keeps pestering me to play with him, but I'm sure I won't enjoy it. D3's story seems so weak...
Anyhow, I'm staying with ME3 =)xI extremist Ix wrote...
I played the Diablo 3 beta until level 8. I hated it. Diablo 2 was great when it came out in 2000.
Who would have thought that gaming has changed over the past 12 years?
This and this.
Nostalgia is a pretty powerful draw, but there's only so much you can do with a game tha plays like it's over a decade old.
This. Although I'm sure I'll buy D3 eventually, it won't be any time soon...

I don't need to play every game out there (and probably won't). For me, ME3 was my one purchase for a while, so I'm going to enjoy it for a while.
Others will answer differently.
Now, June 19th I might take a few days off while I play the LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes (

I felt the same way. I was totally disappointed and didn't enjoy the constant clicking and the top view at all. I used to like Diablo but now I can't really enjoy this type of game anymore. So I won't be playing D3.
However I don't play a lot of ME anymore because I play a lot Tribes: Ascend instead, also playing some Nexuiz and maybe I will start to work on my backlog of singleplayer games in Steam as well. I'm not leaving ME3 for anything, just taking a break and playing a few games every now and then.

Have fun waiting until September, barring any delays.

A lot of people will leave ME3 for D3. Stale horde mode can't compete.
Yep, if they added a new game mode or anything to increase the depth/complexity of the game then it would give a second wind. Otherwise, new characters on a stale game mode don't do much for me.
