I've run into a problem where I can't access the Awakening expansion pack through the Ultimate Edition on Steam.
I've found several solutions on these boards and the Steam forums, none of which have worked for me so far. The most popular solution seems to be copying a section from the manifest.xml file into the addins.xml file, but the section that should be copied does not appear in my manifest file.
Another solution is to run the game as an administrator (which should apparently also correct the issue with the manifest file), but I can't do this, considering how Steam keeps looping the game launcher whenever I try to run Dragon Age with administrator rights.
I've un- and re-installed the game two times now, without any luck. Is there anyone who can help me?

Not enough info here to even begin to offer suggestions (except to ask if you know that DA:A is accessed through the "Other Campaigns" choice on the Main Menu?)
But my blanket recommendation for any issue with a Steam install is to contact EA Customer Service and explain the problem. Say you want to switch to the EA: Origins version. Your game registration code(s) will be valid and they can talk you through the process.
Use the "Support" link under "Help" at the bottom of the page. Then choose "Ask a Game Advisor", and look for the "Live Chat" option.

Awakening isn't showing up as an option when I start a new game, nor when I click "Other Campaigns". It is not available for purchase in the Downloadable Content section either, but I'm not entirely sure if it's supposed to.
I'm a bit hesitant to contact EA support, considering previous attempts regarding issues with other games have so far only resulted in a headache instead of an actual solution. I'll give it another shot later on today, though.
Sorry for the lack of info - thank you for replying anyway.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I've tried the solution posted in that thread as well.
I've verified the GCF and run the UpdateAddinsXML program, with no change.
Currently in a waiting queue for a live chat with a game advisor - hopefully it'll have results.

Right! Problem solved. Apparently I had some account issues, which the incredibly helpful game adviser fixed for me.
I'm not entirely sure what he did, but at least my Warden's now happily prancing around Amaranthine.
Thanks for the replies!
