No no.  They don't care about playing ME3 anymore, or even the entire franchise.  They DO care about how the writers/devs made them not care.  They care about how they were made not to care.

Care to rebut?  That's caring too!

I was being facetious but also factually correct, at least in my case.  I would LIKE to be able to go back and play ME3 again...and ME1 and ME2 but I just cannot.  No pleasure in it.  No interest.  I would LIKE for the EC to make it possible for me to enjoy playing the games again, but I seriously doubt it.  The EC is to be expansion and clarification (more dialog to explain the inexplicable RGB) so I must doubt they will make it playable to me again, ANY of it.

I hope in the tiniest possible fashion that they surprise me but I hold to that with the same hope that I will win the Powerball Lottery.

Right now, I'm playing Multiplayer a lot, which is pretty addictive. But Single Player? Nah. The lack of a real ending to Mass Effect 3, as well as the lack of any real relevance to the choices you made, it all undermines the whole franchise, or at the very least the Single Player campaign.

I've played and replayed the previous games several times with my main Femshep and was really looking forward to doing so again, playing a different class and background, making different choices, perhaps even going full Renegade. But I wanted to finish one full playthrough first, to see how that one worked out, to prevent from making easily avoidable mistakes. I worked very hard to get my Femshep leveled up as far as possible, giving her the best possible gear and powers, getting all of the squad through the suicide missions. I was psyched when ME3 finally came out and had anticipated seeing how all my choices would affect the story.  I was a little disappointed to see it all didn't matter very much, but at least many things were mentioned. But after playing through the ending? I can't even bring myself to finish my second playthrough of ME3's SP campaign, even though it is the first where my Femshep has a proper face, after the initial problems with importing. Nor can I bother to continue with my ME1 replays, which I'd started in order to take my mind of the horrible ending. It is just no fun, knowing that there is ultimately no point.

I really do hope the Extended Cut really fixes things. But the announcements made about the EC don't make me very optimistic. I don't want explanations, I want a full-blown rewrite without the Starchild or at the very least an IT-like explanation, allowing my Femshep to finish the fight against the Reapers, even if it does force her to sacrifice herself. This is what she's lived for, for the past few years, she always knew it could come down to this. If they really force me to make unacceptable choices however, such as taking down the Geth in order to get rid of the Reapers, betraying Legion's legacy, then I'm done with the series.

The thing I'm most upset about is that pretty much everything I did meant nothing. Doing EVERY side mission, loyalty mission, getting EVERY war asset, and nothing changes.

Imagine building 10 houses in a week and getting the same paycheck as someone who built 4.

Where was the Rachni Queen I chose to save at the expense of Grunt's Krogan army?
Where were the Geth and the Quarians that I helped bring together for peace?
Where was the Batarian fleet that I fostered from my decision from and completing the DLC for Mass Effect 1? (Bringing down the Sky)
Where were my old squadmates? Why couldn't I see them in battle?

My main gripe is that even if you did everything and keep everyone alive, there is nothing to show for it. Show me Samara and Jack blasting away Reapers with Biotics... Show me Kasumi sneaky up on ****es and f**king them up... Show the Krogan tearing things apart.

Show me something. Please. We deserved it. Shepard deserved it,

Huh? If they're there, you see them. Krogan too.

As for the rest of the list... well, we'll see what we do for the EC. I wouldn't expect batarian ships, since Bio's never had a model for those.

The OP pretty much puts in words how I feel about ME these days. DA2 had the exact same effect on me, and SWTOR failed to deliver in my opinion.

That was three strikes.

Then why am I still here? Because for some reason I hope BioWare will make a turnaround - but regardless if they do, I won't be buying their games anymore before they're in the sales bin.

Despite giving up on Bioware, I can't say that I have done the same for the Mass Effect series (especially since the EC is being released soon).

The EC is going to make or break Mass Effect for me.

Actually, this post is my situation.

If the EC is good, my adoration for this game will be rekindled.

If it sucks, it'll pass into oblivion.

Yup, I just don't care anymore. I completely agree with you OP. I can't even compare ME1 and ME2 with ME3. Just a complete disappointment all around.

I'm trying to rekindle the love by replaying ME as a Vanguard (yes, I've never tried that class). So far I like the playstyle. Even though I don't have Charge, yet, I'm trying to simulate it the best I can by going all Leroy Jenkins on the enemies. It's made this playthrough a bit of a refreshing change from my "Singularity then annihilate" pattern of combat.

My interest is waning a little bit, I'll admit. The longer they go without any single player news the less I care. It sucks. Bioware's worst problem is not timing their news and events properly, to capitalize on people's genuine interest. They wait too long and are far too vague with their PR statements.

Well at least there's no Mass Effect Kinect dance minigame....
though if that happened I'd at least be able to laugh at the series.
Right now I'm done and just moved on.

I feel a little like the people on earth felt. Stranded with not a chance of rescue, my only hope a heroes promise for aid. I sit patiently in wait for the fabled heroes known as The Rest of Biowares Writing Staff to return with the mysterious weapon of the ancient lord of retcon, Riddley Scott, dubbed "The Extended Cut", but I know in my heart that hope is slim.

Mass Effect? Isn't that a third person shooter of some kind?

Yuck.

Great post, OP. Exactly how I feel. I have played thru ME 4 times. ME2 10 times. As soon as I finish ME3 on Insanity (which I haven't touched in over a month), all three are likely getting traded in. At the very least, they will gather dust in a box in a closet.

The biggest tragedy is that BioWare has still not acknowledged that they made a mistake. They insist on their "artistic vision" and teling us that we are the ones who are wrong.

BioWare has lost my loyality. I used to love & respect them because they made great games, but their behavior in this matter is not okay.

I care, but not that much anymore. ME1 is still a good game. ME2, well, not so much, but it's not bad for the middle game of a trilogy. ME3 missed the mark completely, imo. So I still come here and read stuff, hoping perhaps that people find things to talk about, and waiting to hear from the ME devs. Being a DA person first and foremost, I'm not used to being ignored :P

Personally, I think ME3 would benefit more from a cutting than an adding. Two things that I'd love to see go into the waste-bin come to mind. Gilligan's planet and a certain hologram are my biggest, most cringe-worthy issues. If they needed an info dump, why didn't they use that asari hologram (I forgot her name) that's normaly on the citadel?

Meanwhile, DA3, InXile, and CDPR have my full attention. While I have high hopes for InXile and CDPR, I'm not that optimistic about DA3. I so hope that it's good, but DA2 really was a huge let-down for me, personally. However, I love DAO. And yes, I'm still playing it.

The thing that gets me is that Bioware is still refusing to take the responsibility for the cluster**** that Mass Effect 3 is and the thing that really burns is that after their loyal fans called them out on their BS like the fact that they released a rushed incomplete game they had the audacity to try and make the fans the villians.

I am still a Bioware Loyalist but Mass Effect 3 was a major blow in my opinion of Bioware because I stuck with them after they messed up Dragon Age 2 and then decided to not create the Exalted March Expansion that would have done alot in regards to saving Dragon Age 2 but this nonsense thats going on now with Mass Effect 3 I am getting to the point that I really have lost all respect for Bioware.

I will still get the Mass Effect 3 SP DLC EC and beyond but I think that Bioware needs to get their **** together because without those hardcore devoted fans nobody is gonna buy their games.

Now I would still buy their games but not without alot of research and consideration I never thought I would say that about Bioware games.

But at least we still have Bethesda,Square Enix,CD Project Red,Obsidian and Atlus are still great top of the line RPG Developer's.

Remember post-release when you would have threads on the third page with replies of less than a minute ago? Good times.
