You know, I suffer from depression and one of the things that has kept me motivated was ME. Loving ME1/2 and anticipating ME3 so much. Then I beat ME3. That ending made me more depressed than I was before. I honestly dont know what the **** to do anymore.

.....

Learn to play tekken like all non-depressed people.

Mass Effect has become an embarrising train wreck in my opinion. My situation is exactly like the OP here, i dont care at all about this series anymore, no longer talk about it, will not recommend it to anyone and wont spend another dollar on it. That is my reaction to a poor ending that left me feeling extremely unsatisfied and like i had pretty much wasted my time with it. After the regrettable dragon age 2, im no longer in the pre-order crowd for anything bioware puts out - i did that 3 times and i felt ripped off twice. ME2 was fine but me3 and da2 are just simply not up to standard. Im really blown away that me3 got so many high reviews, its certainly NOT better than me2. Not one thing was significantly better. Oh thats right, i forgot about those amazing turret sequences and those eaves-dropping side quests. Im surprised this game even came out - if i worked there and heard what they were doing with the unfinished ending and the cheap missions i would have quit, and i find it hard to believe people didnt. This game was a big lesson in filtering hype - the things they claimed this game would be - the 'epic conclusion' is all just a load of garbage. I learned not to trust what devolopers say their game will be and i learned not to pre-order anything from bioware. Man, me3 is so bad.

Dude...what about getting stuck to cover in combat?  THAT is what makes ME3 so inordinately praise-worthy (aside from the eavesdropping side quests).  Nothing can be better than getting stuck to cover in the worst possible location and time.

Were it not for the multiplayer, which I admittedly find to be quite fun, this game wouldn't have been played since March.

Did you play Gears Of War 3 MP? Almost same priniciples (Horde Mode)but far better implementation. BTW, ME3 MP feels like quite cheap rip off in so many aspects.

I found myself bored with the multiplayer after less than a week. It's just...dull. Ofcourse, it takes more than shooting and explosions to hold my interests. The ME series held my interests with the character intereactions and story. Being able to change it (though very very slightly in any case of the 3 games) but mainly choosing what to say and RPing. I have over 80 hours in ME1, have beaten ME2 about 5 times, (I know it's not as much compared to more hardcore fans, but it's alot for me when I only beat a game about once, twice at most) yet, I have only beaten 3 2 times. The second playthrough only because I couldn't play with my 100% playthrough of ME1 and 2 the first time. And I still have a Renegade Shepard to play through as, but I already know I wouldn't be choosing much of what she says and that her character will be contridicted to what I chose for her to say and do in the previous games. Is that why I havn't played? Is it the horrible and plot-hole ridden ending? I have no clue. All I know is that I notice a huge lack of quality in ME3 as a whole. (Much like DA2) So it's not just the ending for me, just something I can't really pinpoint specifically. All I can say is a drop in quality is to blame I guess. My interest in the ME franchise isn't deminished, but it's not on top or something I would get excited over again. I just do not expect anything good from Bioware anymore, nor do I trust what they say. None of this is ruining my life though, as I have other games I adore (and are respected by their creaters) and can play those, and that ME was never my whole life to begin with. So I got irritated by ME3's outcome and gave my complaints on rare occasions, but it's not on my mind besides that. I'll wait for the EC to come out, see what it has, say either "cool then" or "they f***ed up yet again" get irritated yet again at Biowares incompetence/ forgive them a little and be on my way since ME is still over whether it does good or bad. lol I have no depressing story, sorry guys. (I am in no way belittling people who are passionate about ME being upset about this mess Bioware & EA made with 3. I get it, trust me. I just don't typically care about anything after being mad for a day or so.lol)

Hear, hear.

I gave up on Mass Effect and Bioware.  I am disappointed, overall.  Mass Effect 3 was always one of my favorite game series ever imagined.  Mass Effect 3 was amazing, the best game I ever played... yet it's incredibly how 10 minutes of gameplay can ruin an entire series, hundreds of hours of gameplay, make everything feel pointless.

I just happen to be here today, looking for news.  Maybe I still have a little hope left?  I don't know.  I haven't played this game in months because of the ending.  Otherwise, I'd still be a big fan and probably dumping money into multiplayer, even.

Dragon Age 2 was a disappointment. Not a big one, but it showed that Bioware is clearly losing their touch.  I enjoyed the gameplay, the overall story wasn't terrible, but the setting was one of the worst I could possibly imagine.  3 small barren, ****hole areas and a story arc that really wasn't all that heroic... just interesting.

SW:TOR could have been so much better.  I enjoyed the game -- it had decent class stories.  But overall, they bombed on this game.  It's a shame that this game failed to be what it could have been.  They focused (and still are focusing) too much on 'new content' instead of quality of life features which are completely necessary for a game to survive.  They are too focused on making a WoW clone instead of taking features from WoW and developing the game into their own unique successful MMO.

Overall, Bioware has truly fallen.  It's not just Mass Effect for me.  Every single one of their franchises has severely disappointed me.  I don't even think it's just EA -- Mass Effect 2 was great!!  It's the company itself.  They really don't seem to know what they are doing anymore.

I may get action against my Bioware account for posting criticism, but I am not saying bad things about individuals, here.  I just want the old Bioware back.  The one that made games I fell in love with.  Where has it gone?

:(

I just noticed my signature.  I really should edit and remove that.  I haven't been a part of retake since they decided to make that half-ass summer DLC to better tell the ending.  I'll check it out for sure... but it won't change much.

The suggestion to make this game amazing doesn't matter, either -- Bioware doesn't care.

All we have left is this hollow shell of a game, and I'm not really interested in being here.  Just was checking in for updates, see ya later...

It wasn't the ending that made me stop caring, it was the "choices", or rather, the complete asspull they did that completely negated Shepard's choices. Whereas I had thought Shepard's choices in the first two games would really alter the course of events, it turns out they don't. Nope, all Shepard does is decide which flavor of NPC he interacts with in cutscenes, and which nuances of dialogue are present. But changing the course of history? NOPE. History is on rails, and Shepard is a mere passenger on that train.

TC nailed it completely. Our one tiny piece of hope remaining is that somehow the Extended Cut makes everything that we went through with the ME trilogy meaningful again instead of a REALLY DAMN LONG trainride off a cliff to fiery doom, destruction and pointlessness.
