One of two male Shepards is named Orson, after Orson Welles for his "War of the Worlds" broadcast. I think it's fitting for a science fiction game. Allen is the other one, though there's no reason in particular. I just like the name.

My female Shepard is named Madder for her red hair, since the plant itself was used historically as a vibrant red dye. It's also a nod to her renegade disposition; the color often represents anger, violence, or other emotional extremes.

Femshep spacer, Bill, was gifted with a Father that was terrible at naming(and a creatively-challenged player) and Hannah has apologized on more than one occasion for never changing his mind. Needless to say, she'd rather everyone call her by surname or rank.

Kestrel (Femshep). Name of the one of the lead characters in the book "The Wind Singer", and it was the name of an Aircraft Carrier in Acecombat 5. That and i love my birds of prey.

I think it sounds cool, but even though it's even my own name, I can't stop thinking about the creepy badguy from Last Action Hero when I think about it.
