Can someone from Bioware please explain to me, why the Blood Dragon Armor was nerfed - and even more importantly, why don't I find a BIG warning in the DLC screen about it? And where is the changelog detailing the changes?

Please in the future, if/when you do such changes, make some kind of changelog available (optimally in the DLC download screen)!!!

What was nerfed about it? I've aleady moved past it for everyone in my party...it's sitting in my personal storage now.

Was it nerfed? It needed to be. It was pretty stupid that a free DLC armor that you have access to at the beginning of the game was that good.

Well A) you only had the chest plate at the start, the rest you have to buy...and B) you still had to have a pretty high strength to wear it, which even if you gun for mostly str, you can't wear it until around level 10-12. It's good but it's not all-powerful. I retired my set right before my last (4th) "army gathering" quest. There are much better armor sets out there.

I was wearing it as soon as possible (pumping all points into STR), which was close to level 8 I believe, and I didn't exchange it for something else until level 14.

Very overpowered, glad they nerfed it.

Wade's Dragonscale armor kicks the Blood Dragon Armors buttocks. Plus it's fugly as sin. Although outfitting oghren in it makes him look like a toy Cylon...

No better armor for a warrior available in the game.

What is the nerf? And before it was the best body armor in the game, nothing compared.

New stats: +30health/+6defense, +10health helm. Set bonuses stayed the same.

P.S.
With old stats, it was better then most other massive armors you can get early (Juggernaut, for example).

Nice ninja nerf. I don't mind. It was silly that the best armor in the game starts in your inventroy at level 1.

So why not just have it appear somewhere later? I mean, how is it silly that some of the best armour in game is available straight away but it's not silly that my mage starts with this massive armour suit stuffed in his belt?

Far better to have just made it a top-end purchase in Wade's Emporium or something rather than just ruin it.

What?  You don't need to wait until level 10-12.  My 2H Warrior was wearing it at level 7!  It was insanely powerful at that level, and the set as a whole was the best in the game for a tank (except for other DLC armor, such as the dragonbone version of the Warden Commander's armor).

Or just nerf it since there's plenty of other plates to go around. At least you get an early choice of an okay plate.

And what massive armour suit are you talking about? I played mage on my first playthrough but don't get the reference.

The smart thing about wiki's is how you can view old revisions of articles, just click the "History" button at the top of the article.

That doesn't make any sense. You already have a choice for okay plates. What's the point of nerfing one of the more powerful items just to give you an extra trash option in levels 1-10?

The Blood Dragon armour? You know, the one where you start with the torso armour in your inventory? In the Fade? The focus of this thread?

There are reasons why they are called Collector's Items and nuking it for the sake of balancing the game is not acceptable. I spent over 60 dollars on an item where it will be nuked later? This is rubbish! Now my copy is losing value fast and those who pirated it are laughing so hard. Revert it back to the original stats BIOWARED!

Blood Dragon Armor wasn't part of the Collector's Edition.  It was included with every new game.

I believe Blood Dragon armor was only available with the pre-order editions of the game.

The entire point of a pre-order bonus is to get a nice bonus.

If they felt another piece of armor in the game was unbalancing, then please 'nerf' it, but it feels odd to say, "please give me your money early and we'll reward you" only to take away that reward two weeks later.

And unless I'm missing something, I don't see how Wade's Dragonbone Plate kicked its butt, but then again, I still can't find out how to see set bonuses in the game. By sheer armor and fatigue values, it was equal to the Blood Dragon armor, except individual pieces of Wade's only gave you fire resistance. The Blood Dragon armor gave stat bonuses. It is possible with a set bonus, it was superior, but without comparing set bonuses of the two, I stuck with Blood Dragon armor. It seemed superior.

Scroll down the Blood Dragon Armor section.

Purchase a new copy of Dragon Age: Origins (regular or Collector's Edition) and receive a code to download Blood Dragon Armor, a full set of armor that grants exceptional protection in combat.

Preorder was not required, all copies of the game have it.

Even if it wasn't included, dumb me, I intended to have it because of how useful it will be in hard and nightmare difficulty, get it?
