There are reasons why they are called Collector's Items and nuking it for the sake of balancing the game is not acceptable. I spent over 60 dollars on an item where it will be nuked later? This is rubbish! Now my copy is losing value fast and those who pirated it are laughing so hard. Revert it back to the original stats BIOWARED!

Blood Dragon Armor wasn't part of the Collector's Edition.  It was included with every new game.

If they felt another piece of armor in the game was unbalancing, then please 'nerf' it, but it feels odd to say, "please give me your money early and we'll reward you" only to take away that reward two weeks later.

That's the point, its like buying a car that is somewhat very good but the manufacturers felt they are losing money on the engine so give me back your car so I can nuke it to the inferior engine. What will you do, no way Jose I paid for this car and everything is mine now.

So don't download the update?  It's not part of a game patch or anything.  It's just an update for the armor and you don't have to download it.  If you want the texture fix, you can always download the update and then edit the item in the toolset.  Fixed.

i still dont know why i didnt get the nerfed version :( i saw it downloading a new version but its the same old armor!

If things function similary to NWN1/NWN2, probabaly just item template is modified in new version, which means that armors already obtained earlier will keep old values, but only new ones will use new "nerfed" stats.

If we could stay on the topic, the important thing here is that it is really impolite to change the game without telling us, while we are in the middle of the game.

It doesn't ruin my day, it doesn't ruin DA:O, and it certainly doesn't make me really angry.

To me it is a slight hit to Bioware's reputation that they are treating us this way. It just makes me more and more less likely to buy all of Bioware's products or consider them a top developer.

Too late, I downloaded it and manually installed. LOL Anyway, I just want a clarification if they really intended to nuke it on version 1.1.

Too bad, they keep on pissing off the customers. What next Bergen's Honor?

Do they make you download the updated Blood Dragon Armor? If so then they really pissed me off. There is no reason to change the stats of a dlc item after it's been released. They should of thought of it earlier.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but to me who got "nerfed" stats, in a way could be have installed some user module addon which utilize the same ID assgined to the BDA. The Question is; which of uor other armor ( custom module ) have ( or had ) those very stats in it? :innocent:

Ah just download a mod with a armor with identical stats to the old blood dragon armor. Blood Dragon Armor isn't the best looking so people have already provided alternatives like for example the black templar armor.

But it is upsetting that it got nerfed and even so ninjalike.

Some people don't have the option to get a mod. They have the console versions instead of the pc version. I am one of those people who don't like it when Bioware screws witht things that they already have released.

Huh... I find it odd that they'd bother nerfing this. Did it really alter the gaming experience that much?

Strange... very strange. The nerf bat better not hit the warden's commander armor next!

Well, idk I've read on this section that the stats are different on the console. Alas, Im unable to verify that information. So, bear in mind that I might be wrong.
These are the 1.0\\\\1.1 PC ( on one quickplay toon - lv1 mage or any other toon);

Just checked my game on PC and the stats don't look any different. My game is fully updated and the armor is just like the screen IKe0s posted.

I think you need to start a brand new character to see the armor with the new stats. I just restarted a game after patching to 1.1 and my new character has the plate with the new stats. Older characters have the old stats.

Hmmmm... maybe I don't have the fully upgraded game after all? I thought the highest patch is 1.02. At least that's the one I'm seeing on the DL page.

I tested it w/ a new char w/ patch 1.02 and the stats are unchanged. Where did you guys get patch 1.1?

That I repeat is strange, because if u open the relative file in the toolset the stats are unchanged, so I point to one havoc user module. You should better to check uor installed content by disabling one by one till u find the culprit.

Its the Blood Dragon Armor DLC that is at 1.1. There is a sticky in the PC tech support forum where you can get it, if you want. The fix fixes the armor for female elves, and apparently messes with the stats.

Ah, I see.  Thanks.

Guess I won't be playing my female elf for a while then... too bad.  :P

Now it seems to be leaning more of a bug since even if you patched but not using a new character, the stats remain the same like the old version but once you make a new character, bam, there goes the new stats. NO CONSISTENCY! The issue on the first version was on female elves and not the uber stats but why mess up with the stats? Why?

I don't have any mods installed.  I did have one which improved the look of the underwear, but that was it.  And removing that didn't have any effect on the Blood Dragon Armor stats for any new characters I create.

Alter in use module file linked to the save-game will cause strange things to happend, so .. Let's call that something got messed in the update process.
Do as follow;
1 - Locate the file "Profile.dap" and make sure to backup it, or u'll regret to lose all the achievement in process; that file is usually located at "C:\\Users\\[YOUR-USER]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings".
2 - Execute the game and go for disable the BDA module, then force load uor last save-game / Save a new file and quit.
3 - Move to uor AddIns directory and select "dao_prc_promo_me", be sure to highlight only that folder, then HOLD SHIFT and subsequently right click on the mouse for select > delete, bear in mind that will bypass uor "$Recycle.Bin" and that mean all the file that u selected are begin deleted permanently. Note: if u previusly deleted this folder u should unhide uor system file and go for delete it manually.
4 - Go back to your original "Profile.dap" and delete it.
5 - Run the "Daupdater" which is located on uor "\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship" directory and re-install the DAO_PRC_PROMO_ME_1.1, u can grab it over supportfiles.bioware.com/dragonage/prc/DAO_PRC_PROMO_ME_1.1.dazip
6 - Execute the game, make a new toon and see if u still have the "corrupted" stats.

I have no mods installed. Version 1.1 changed the stats on my BDA for all new characters. It's an official change.
