Should I start calling you Captian Jack?  (Doctor Who/Torchwood refference for anyone reading who is unfamiliar with those shows.)

Sheep, furniture, cows, trees, birds, cars, corpses, abstract concepts (why limit myself)...I'm open to possiblities.

...

...

But seriously...NO.
The only "alien" I'd ever possibly consider even for a nano-second are Eldar. But they are basicly elves in space, so nto relly aline anywhoo.

Pretty sure Rule 34 covers even that one.

If humanity ever encounters another sapient species of approximately equal intelligence to ourselves, it's inevitable that there will be cross-species relationships.

The 'bestiality/zoophilia' argument wouldn't apply in a Turian/Human relationship any more than it applies to a same sex relationship, despite the argument often being used by anti-gay marriage campaigners. The argument is based on a prejudiced, gut reaction analogy of 'it's wrong', without exploring why bestiality is wrong.

Bestiality is wrong because of issues of consent - animals lack our intelligence. They don't have the intellectual maturity to give reliable consent. This is why nations have the legal age of consent; to protect children, as they are not yet mature enough to give proper consent.

With that in mind, sexual contact with another species would not be immoral in any way, provided that the individual of the species in question is a grown adult and intelligent enough to give reliable consent.

Of course, whether 'cross-species liaisons ', as Garrus puts it, become commonplace is another matter entirely. It would depend on how physically similar to us this species is, as we as humans have evolved to be sexually attracted solely to other humans, after all.

Matt Rhodes talks about this issue in designing the Asari, at 1 minute in to this video:

You can't call yourself Xenosexual if the partner is so near human in looks.

Let's see how well you do ... with a hanar.

'Course you can. If the prefix xeno- means 'alien', then any sexual relationship with an alien race is xenosexual, no matter how human they may or may not look.

The issue arises with races such as, as you mention, the Hanar. Very few people would be sexually attracted to such a species, because of its completely different anatomy to humans. It would still be possible to fall in love with an individual of such a species, as the Hanar are highly intelligent. Except for the ones which are big, stupid jellyfish.

In which case, we're speaking of xenophilia, the love of an alien or aliens, without sexual attrraction.

Here is the thing about non human genitalia. YOU ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR IT! You're trying to insert an american plug into a european socket. It's just not going to work.  Unless they do it like Asari, but they are a special case. Also I am actually curious if this is how most of the native species on Thessia mate in such a way and if the entire planet is monogendered. That would mean the Thessian equivalent of a dog would mate like an asari, implications squicky.

But seriously thoug try having sex with a female duck, their vagina is litterally a maze good luck finding the little man in the boat in that scenario, a duck btw would have more genetically in common with you than any extra terrestrial. For heavens sake a jelly fish would have more genetically in common with you than an extra terrestrial.

Nope, I'm not into bestiality.

Bestiality is with lower animals. You'd have to regard life with intelligence around the level of humans in very low esteem (namely being bigoted and prejudiced against them) to define it as bestiality or zoophilia. Xenosexuality is the most appropriate (or at least eloquent) term on the table right now.

As for me, I don't find any of the ME races attractive or any fictional races that display an abundance of prominent alien physical traits for that matter. I can understand the attraction that others may feel as I can see how aesthetically pleasing appearances no matter how alien (I won't deny ME races like Turians or Quarians, for example, have some cool designs) can become sexually attractive. But I personally don't experience it.

Assuming humans come into contact with other intelligent life before our demise, xenosexuality will probably be the final frontier of such issues regarding sexuality. That or robots who can experience emotions.

Strong, elegantly-designed robots whose bodies shine like a knight in glistening armor ready to sweep you off your feet... With those serene, synthesized voices that send chills of wonder and excitement down your spine... And a beautiful thought processing unit that can conclude solely by logic that you're the only one for them... Damn, did I just write that? Stupid sexy Legion...

Great. Fine reading for those of us with a wicked spider phobia. Not cool!

My faith in humanity is so degraded, I might just run full speed to the first species available. Although any species that can elicit hallucinatory responses is at the top of the list.

I'm actually quite suprised. Seeing how BioWare fans love their romances, and the most popular ones are Garrus, Liara and Tali.

Turian bromance aside. Xenophilia in ME doesn't sound all that of putting when you have Asari about.

People have attractions via the internet, without having any physical contact whats so ever. It just shows how any intelligent life can form bonds of attraction. There is no need for anything physical to be there.

It depends on how open minded you are really. To be honest, I find the idea of Hugh Hefner sleeping with models more disgusting than any Turian/Human relationship.

Playing D&D in high school ensures that inter-species sexual liasons are the only ones you get.

Though your point is valid, your only up to ploughing someone if you find that someone attractive. You could argue that dogs are as ugly as Turians in human standards, but one thing is to have be humanoid, and the other is to walk in four legs rolling on your own ****.

Not even Asari? They're basically blue humans. And the Quarians look more human than anything else really
