Ive just been running tests on auto weapons with the turian soldier on gold.
The revenant stabilty(recoil)is not a problem its its almost total lack of accuracy that does it down.
I have marksman 4 specced for RoF so maybe if I spec it for accuracy the revenant will perform better.(15% better anyway)
As is it is outperformed at range by the tempest which is far more accurate.
Interestingly I can carry the tempest and carnifex with better cooldowns than the revenant alone.

Actually I still found the Revenant to be better than the Tempest on my Human Soldier.  Accuracy is horrible, but the Revenant will have less recoil than the Tempest even if it's only from the Turian passives.

If Bioware would just get off their asses and fix the negative recoil for Turians, you could use a stability and scope mod and snipe across the map with it.

Will try with scope.  As is I just burned a respec card and tried a solo run with a GI with a Revenant and it was NOT hitting things across Giant with the Revenant even though the aim was right over their head, and it wasn't killing things fast enough at close range for me to just rush in and murder everything like I usually do with the GI (since the Claymore kills a row of enemies instantaneously)... especially since it required sustained fire and there was no way I could stay out there that long with Hunter Mode on while soloing.  It also took a really long time to kill Atlasses compared to using the Claymore.

Also will test in a team game.

Scoping it kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion, then again I hate scopes in third person games anyways.

But Pierce + Barrel is too good to pass up for a scope.

Feels like it takes forever to kill anything on gold.

Not my cup of tea.

Honestly I was undecided..the revenant does hit harder but honestly at range its useless where the tempest is a lead laser the revenant is spraying rounds everywhere.
Frankly I wouldnt reccomend either weapon for gold but given the choice I will take the tempest as I can play gold with it and score well where I never do well with the revenant.

It doesn't elevate it to other weapons, but it gives you the option of hip-fire spray or vaguely accurate longer distance bursts. Adds some flexibility for taking out mooks from range. I don't think it quite makes it competitive though.

I hear you, but spraying stuff down on Gold...I dunno, I don't have a reliable team or anything, I have to random it so I like the flexibility.

I tried with the scope and it was somewhat better...used AP and scope mod.
It actually may be better than damage because at least some bullets actually hit the target.

Hi

I main a Turian Soldier
Marksman R4 Accuracy R5 Headshot R6 +10/+10
Veteran R4 Stability/Damage, R5 Headshot, R6 Stability/Damage

Revenant IX, Barrel + Anything else (usually magazine expansion).
Predator X backup, identical config as above.

AP Ammo III, Assault Rifle Rails III, Stabilizer III.

Easy 100k scores in Gold as long as I can regularly access ammo boxes. (5 Spare Thermal Clip Consumables isnt enough in a round).

:)

Unlike OP you and Flamko show videos. I will wait to see how you use Revenant. Still think that it's a waste of time, because Revenant is too gimped.

Okay, I just ran a first trial match with a team of pubs on giant using the Revenant... endscore was 130977 (me), 50758 (some Infiltrator), 43871 (Some other infiltrator), 39182 (Some Salarian Engineer whose decoy I tried to melee between waves in imitation of an FBW Geth).  Wasn't using a scope, and the pubs were running around the map pretty randomly so enemies weren't being funneled into convenient groups or anything (which probably would have benefitted the Revenant).  I also was occasionally doing things just for the sake of testing rather than actually trying to be as efficient as possible, if anyone is wondering why I was acting strangely at certain points.

Uploading the video now.

The 4 turians video was made before series of buffs to Rev and other ARs. Curious to see how SP wields it.

Not really itching for a fight, but I'm actually curious to play a few games with you sometime. Mostly just to see how effective you can make the revenant. My origin username is the same as my forum user name. I'll be using a lowly Paladin 1 with a salarian infiltrator.

I gave my Revenant X a spin with a turian soldier last weekend, and it was somewhat decent, but having to mostly stay in cover + marksman to use the gun effectively goes against my playstyle.

K... here's the first video.

pt1:  www.youtube.com/watch
pt2:  www.youtube.com/watch

So, it wasn't as bad as I expected after my experience with the old Turian Soldier.  It's like a really heavy Hurricane that prevents me from moving (argh!) and does less damage and takes longer to reload.  But on the other hand, it has a larger clip, allowing me to be less frugal with my shots, and I don't need to put an AP ammo consumable on it, which is always a plus over SMGs.  Liked it better than when I tried it on the Turian Soldier.  Then again, last time I tried it on the Turian Soldier Marksman took a lot longer to cool down, so there's that.

Revenant is a great gun with stabilizer and scope mod. I've got a Revenant VI and used it at Gold last weekend. I use it with different characters, but works best with Turian Sentinel imo. For targets far away you will have to burst fire and up close or with big targets, you can let it rip ;-D.
