The single player campaign on normal is very easy. I died once in Act 1.

This is enough reason for me not to buy D3. It's a waste of my time if it feels easy.

It does, but even on normal it gets a bit more difficult quickly, and I dont want to even imagine how the higher difficulties are like. If what one hears is true, it is almost too hard.

^^ Tempting, but still, then the normal mode would go to naught.

It is in the same system as D2? As in, you unlock higher modes when completing normal, for each character??

I don't mean to sound high and mighty nor with a stick up... you know. But in saying that I won't feel the experience worthwhile when it doesn't offer a challenge I'm most sincere.

Seems like it. Though I have to admit I havent finished the game yet because I started 3 different characters already to find my favorite for the journey to inferno difficulty :innocent:

All I can say is that you should get past Act 1. The end boss there is very forgiving when compared to the end boss of Act 2, for example (where you just go *splat* if you don't react correctly). I'm on Act 3 and while it isn't exactly difficult, you can feel the difference.

Act 1 is just a warmup. I also only died once in Act 1, and that was because I was being an idiot and didn't pay attention.

All in all, I can't believe people are giving D3 a hard time about its difficulty. If you made normal mode more difficult, you'd leave out a lot of players. That's not cool, and there are plenty of difficulties above normal.

It's a fun skill, true. Has that kind of DotA Omnislash feeling to it.

Anybody on Inferno? My god, it's awesomely hard lol.

I'm a Barb, have a solid tank build, have over 500 resistance in everything, pretty good in gear and I get destroyed on Inferno. I'm a decent player too. I can go through Act 1 mostly Ok as long as whoever is with me pulls their weight because I don't do a lot of DPS in my spec. It's mostly survival and tanking.

Feeling good about Act 1, I tried Act 2 and it's probably twice as hard. It's like a kick in the nuts by Blizzard lol. I'm expecting Act 3/4 to get twice as hard too. It's like Blizzard increased the tier of gear you need for each Act in Inferno. They want people buying items in this game for sure because that's the only way you'll be able to do Inferno.

Recommended tips I have for Inferno players: If you're a Barb, you need all resistance, fire resistance on top of that, acrcane on top of that, vitality(primary stat), strength, high block shields with big damage absorption, full tank spec, gear that picks orbs up automatically and easier, life regen and life leech. Dext/Intelligence should be completely complimentary but you need the dodge from Dex and resistance from Int too. Vitality should be your #1 priority with resistances. Use War Cry with the 50% resistance boost too as that makes a massive difference when you start getting geared up.

Ranged classes don't need to worry about as much except Vit, their primary DPS atribute and all resistance/fire. Getting gear with all resistance and fire is a huge plus. Almost everything uses fire and on bosses like Butcher, the entire ground catches on fire. All resistance is also like extra armor because it increases physical too but I don't know if they have a hard cap on that. Ranged classes have a MUCH easier job gearing up than Monks/Barbs. Melee gets destroyed if they aren't geared. At least you guys can kite.

I recommend over 1k resistance, that's apparently what you need for most of the acts in Inferno.

Its getting hard for melee characters after act1, blue trios or elites bring a lot of pain.
A lot of monster specialties are deadly for melee, plague, molten, prison, frozen etc. Ranged having a lot easier time (especially if someone tanks :)) but new reflective mobs are giving us hard times.

This is what im using for inferno

Witch Doctor

I simply get my 4 skill on CD for vision quest adn then spam Zombie bears like mad. You can use Dire bats(or Swarm) instead of bears too. Soloed Act 2 with that build now half way Act 3.
Killed Magda in 20 sec with this build :)

I was looking forward to inferno, but after the horror stories I hear from my friends I am having second thoughts. It's not that I do not like a challenge,it's more to do with me not having a masochistic personality disorder.Half way through Act 1 on Hell difficulty at the moment.

Inferno is a heavy gear check and its really hard to play solo as some classes.
First act is not that hard after Hell but Act 2 just stampedes you over and over.

Yet there are some people soloed inferno, even Barbarians. But it took him many hours(16?!?) to kill Diablo. LOL
And havent seen any level 60 set items yet so Inferno is not worth the effort nowadays.

Thats my build too :)
Zombie bears are just too awesome. For increased effect give your back to a wall so bears summoned directly in front of you and travel more.
And big monsters like butcher (they really butchered him tbh) got hit by all bears for even greater effect.

Witch Doctor is such an entertainting class with Zombie bears, bullfrogs, fetishes (even undead :)), piled up zombies and acid spitting :)

I can't wait to see some of these builds in pvp matches.  It's gonna be really wacky since Blizz will not be balancing alot for pvp.

Can't wait to actually be able to try DPS builds out again...

I miss dual wield and two-hand on my Barb. So tired of being forced into one spec for Inferno.

That is my main concern, they make so many skills and runes with endless build posibilites.

But we are forced to use 3-4 builds for inferno, im playing my WD with vision quest&spam bears build and its friggin super effective.
I cant use my "Full CC" or "More dots" builds when i play alone. Game is forcing us to play grouped when using certain builds but even farming with a party, using that builds limits my eficiency.

To all fellow Diablo noobs, I warmly recommend focusing exlusively on Hardcore! It's such grand and unique feeling to face a boss you've never seen before, knowing well that if you die you...well, die! With stakes being this high, it is very easy to completely forget how normal difficulty is quite a bit too easy.

Makes very unique experience all in all.

I lost a Level 50 odd hardcore character in Diablo 2,never again will I attempt it,I was upset for weeks. What made it worse is it wasa boss or elite enemy it was some trash mob :(

I'm decently geared on my Barb and with a few crit dmg items I can get RIDICULOUS crits with a Dread Bomb build. It's not doubt going to get nerfed for PvP because nobody will be able to survive one hit from it. The only problem is get 100+ fury for the fury dump. I've not tried it with more max fury but I'd imagine it hits harder. I've seen a crit go to 300k and that's on a 650dps weapon with decent dmg. And I don't have that much crit dmg gear in my stash. The worst thing about this build is it's ranged. It's my axe I'm throwing and one of my only ranged abilities. So yea, definitely getting the nerf hammer soon...It's hilarious using it on Inferno though. I can only use it solo, otherwise I get destroyed because I sacrifice too much survival. But it's hilarious because I can one shot a grou of mobs.

Made it to Inferno this weekend. The loot is oh-so-good, but those elite packs are oh-so-difficult!  One of the first drops I found was a blue 2-handed axe that increased my life by 3k hps and my damage by 2.5k, and it was blue!
